Generally speaking Paulee's breakfast offerings have always been excellent. My family and I make an effort to stop there for breakfast whenever we're in the area. On a recent Saturday morning we stopped in and found the restaurant to be very attractive and devoid of customers. While there seem to be an abundance of waitstaff they seem to lack direction and we're short when addressing the diners. I was particularly offended by the addition of the sign on the table conveying the message: "No camping enjoy your meal and leave so the table could be available to others". As I mentioned before the restaurants food is enjoyable but not a irreplaceable, and with a general price of 9.95 per entrée it is far from cheap especially when you factor and the less then warm reception received from the waitstaff my family and I will be enjoying future weekend breakfast but not at Paulee's. I would however recommend you stop in and observe if you would like to see how to kill a business in three easy steps. read more

We ate here last night, March 21, 2018. We were seated promptly. We were promptly waited on and our order came out very quick. When the waitress arrived with the food I was surprised to see that the portions were huge. The food was good and the order was correct. My only con is that the booths are not big enough, the seats need to be about 3 inches more away from the table or the tables need to be free standing so the customer can adjust them. Another good this is they give Veterans discount of 10%. We will make this our new corner restaurant. read more

Eggs seem really hard for most cooks in the area but these were ok, toast was over done, hash browns (shredded my least favorite type) were like mashed potatoes inside. I had never ate here before but I had done several pickups for door dash. Thought we would give it a try. Will not be back. Prices are extremely high for what you get and the food was only mediocre. I asked for some more dressing for my salad and when waitress brought it over to me she said that it would be an extra $1.49. Excuse me! I've been here twice. Neither time I'd condsider a "good" dining experience. The food has been tasty. However, my Greek skillet was significantly short on the gyro meat, in my opinion. The main reason I'm writing is the mood of the hostess and especially my server, was less than decent. It was almost as if I was a nuisance, in between her chatting with the two gentleman sitting at the counter-that she obviously knew. I'm a pretty easy guest to appease. Just have a pleasant, welcoming demeanor, and don't have me sitting waiting forever for a drink refill or the check - and I'm quite happy. Well I never got that refill, and I waited quite a while after being done with my meal to get my check. I'll just stick to going across the street to Leo's, where I always feel appreciated. read more

This was one of the first diners we found in the area after moving from chicago and we continue to visit regularly. They have a big menu and while not everything is amazing there are several great meals we have ordered for breakfast and lunch including the turkey Reuben, omelettes, crepes, salads, breakfast skillets, and a few other sandwiches that are really delish. It's usually busy, but the wait is always minimal. Plus food is fast, service is excellent and with good prices. read more

Every time I fly out to Michigan I have to go to this amazing restaurant. Best service, the atmosphere and especially the most amazing food. The food is served fresh and hot with large portions. What ever you order you can't go wrong. Try the chicken dumpling soup it's amazing. read more

Came in expecting a great experience based on reviews but was met with disappointment. Our waitress was very rude and when we asked for a new one, we were told it was not possible. I really didn't want to post this, but I feel I must. Something happened to this diner. The portions were cut and the prices went up. I understand when you run a business, the intent is to make money, of course. But when your patrons are actually leaving your restaurant still hungry after paying a hefty bill, this is cause for concern. Did the owners change? After the reopening is when everything went downhill. My family and I have eaten here for many years, but that is not going to happen any longer. Last week I took my 2 young sons in for breakfast. They each ordered the kids pancakes and bacon, and I had the chicken and waffles. When the food came, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The pancakes were only 3 inches wide, 3 per plate (at $7.50 per plate!) My chicken and waffles portion was smaller than I'd had in the past. I had to actually take food from my plate and share with my kids because they did not have enough to eat. Absolutely ridiculous. All told, our bill was over $32. Breakfast for myself, a 9 year old, and a 6 year old... and we all left hungry. Never again. Sorry Paulee's, we won't be returning. read more

I don't know who is giving this spot less than 5* but they are crazy. Yes. It's busy with a wait on the weekends. That should say something. It's delicious. The family that owns it is welcoming. It's a great alternative to other places in the area with much more creative and fresh options. For breakfast, lunch or dinner it's great. Decided to take Mom out for a Sunday brunch and we were looking for someplace different. Checked out Yelp for ideas and Paulees came up. i am really glad that we tried it! There were different items on the menu for breakfast that I haven't seen anywhere else. My husband and I both had a southern style of eggs benedict - a biscuit topped with a poached egg, cheese, sausage gravy on top and hash browns on the side. It was DELISH! The portion was so generous that I've got to take home half and have it for lunch the next day and it was still good reheated. We will absolutely go back to try some of the other unique breakfast items. Our server could have been more attentive. The good, the bad, the ugly. Where do I begin. The good: The food was tasty. The bad: The waitress was terrible, I was half way done with my omelette and still didn't get my toast. Had to get up and ask for my toast. The ugly: When our waitress brought my toast she ran off before asking me if I wanted a refill. I tell everyone I can about this awesome diner!! On reviewing it thought, it is based on breakfast only, FYI. Breakfast is by far the best in the area. From Crepes that look so good you want to come back in the evening for dessert just to have another one or the build your own omelet that is so big you work your way into the middle and leave a cut out and can't finish the rest! You never leave hungry that is for sure. My hubby always gets the rise and shine, which is 2 eggs any way you'd like them, 3 sausages, 3 pieces of bacon and 3 buttermilk pancakes or hash-browns (and the hash-browns are the real deal, not bagged!!). I'm always between the omelet or the fresh and fruity, which is the same as my husbands rise and shine but you get fruit pancakes, like blueberry, yummy!! And this isn't blueberry compote, it's real blueberry's!! There always seems to be a wait (especially on Sundays) but it's well worth it. You are sure to run into me there on a Sunday morning with the hubby and kids! And even though Paulie has passed on the kids still run the business along side their mom and she is still there meeting and greeting guests! You can't go wrong for breakfast here! read more

Way way way Too loud. The place is infested with rude customers, and extremely rude staff.The busboy was pleasant though, he gets 100% of the credit for the single this place gets. He himself deserves 5 stars, however the restaurant deserves 0. Our waitress didn't speak English. They had too many people "working" who were standing around doing nothing and the place was packed. They are trying so hard to make this place seem upscale but it falls ridiculously and hilariously short! The food was meh, nothing stuck out as fabulous or horrible. So there's that. They skimp on the omelette cheese. They close at 3 on Sunday and The cashiers were counting the money on their till at 2 (while business was still happening) - absolutely unprofessional. At least wait until 3 when you are actually "closed". Back to the rude customers, the family at the table behind ours was very loud, they didn't even shut up when their food came, and the jackass right behind me kept bumping into me on purpose. Went there for lunch, as I have done many times. The waitress must have been getting off her shift and it must have been an inconvenience for her to serve us. She was rude as all hell. We ordered our drinks and she brought them to us she slammed them on the table. She brought us our food which was decent at best and basically threw the dishes on the table and walked away and then didn't come back to ask us if we needed anything. Worst service ever. Then, who I think was the owner, rung us up at the counter and was just as rude as the waitress. Took the money and didn't say thank you or anything. That will be the last time I will be there. The economy is terrible people, you should be thankful you're in business. With service like that, you won't be in business much longer. read more

The only plus to this place is the Monte Cristo. I don't know any place around that makes them. And it was delicious. This place is pretty pricey. My son got pancakes and they sucked. For $5 kids pancakes. That's a bit stupid. Also the high chair was missing a safety strap. And we commented this was not acceptable. With the most attitude I've ever gotten from a server. Read the one prior review for Paulie's, and figured since we were already out in that neck of the woods, we ought to try it. Very glad we did! It was a weekday late morning, and there were a few other customers. The food was terrific! The fritata was a little more like an omelet, but the hollandaise was better than your average big breakfast joint. We also had some pecan banana creme cheese pancake creation, which was delicious. The caramel sauce was a little too sweet, but easily push aside to enjoy the stuffed pancake goodness. The coffee was hot and surprisingly smooth. read more

I visit this place several times a year. EVERYTHING IS MADE IN HOUSE, HUGE MENU, PRICES ARE GOOD. The french onion soup is amazing as well as the chicken and dumpling. We have honestly never had a bad meal here. I have still not had the breakfast, but i plan to if i ever go during breakfast. Service can be slow at times, but i don't mind.
