My mom's a huge Paula Deen fan. I made reservations at the Lady and Sons and wanted to surprise her. She went bonkers when she saw the store. She carries great quality product. The store sells souvenirs, bakeware, cookware, books, aprons, coffee mugs, pantry & food, kitchen utensils and more. My mom was in heaven. I thought the pricing would be very high but reasonable. Paula carries nice stuff! I ended up buying seasoning for my food, refrigerator magnet, a soap dish for my mother in law and a spatula. All for $23.00. Not bad. The store is very organized and decorated country themed (there is also an upstairs for more shopping). Staff is very friendly. Connected to the store is the Lady and Sons Restaurant. My hubby and I talked about going to Savannah and Paula Deen's restaurant for a while. Finally took the plunge and drove down from Jacksonville. What a disappointment. We don't understand the hype...food was Ok, not really fresh and hot. Fried chicken was as common as any place. Dessert was terrible. Peach cobbler was watery and definitely not a southern delight. I totally enjoyed my visit here on my last trip to Savannah, I am a big Paula Deen fan so when I seen the store I had to go walk around after we went to the restaurant to eat! The store is nicely decorated and so much to see! I could not believe how much stuff there was to see, her cookbooks, cookware, bake-ware and all kinds of kitchen items, I loved looking. I already have her cookbooks and I am a kitchen fanatic so I really did not need to buy anything but it was fun to look. The store was pretty busy too with people walking around... You can't come to dine at Lady & Sons and just not stop into the store! I actually got a kick out of the store. If you like Paula Deen, you can't help but find humor in her wares. The store is well lit, nicely organized & the scheme is very "southern gal meets shabby chic". The clerk was extremely nice &she had Paula Deen's southern drawl too. I ended up purchasing a 5-pack lip balm set of the following included "flavors": Gooey Butter Cake, Blackberry Cobbler, Strawberry Shortcake, Apple Pie & Maple Bacon. They smell so awesome! The clerk let us smell the samples + she said since there is no alcohol in the ingredients, you can lick your lips worry-free :) I'm giving these to friends and keeping blackberry cobbler for myself! I also got this cute mini-measuring spoon set with the labels (from smallest to largest) Drop, Smidgen, Pinch, Dash, & Tad - SO cute!!! Don't even bother going upstairs. A tourist trap. Especially if you've got to wait over an hour to be seated for a meal. They are ajoined with the restaurant. There was no life size picture of Paula when I went in on the Sunday after St. Patricks day, and I'd think having all these people standing around waiting to be seated to eat has to be some sort of fire hazard. Some years ago, someone visiting here bought me a bottle of her hot sauce and a fried chicken seasoning salt, that I was very impressed with at the time I was using it, so I bought it myself this time. Lots of souvenirs, and if you didn't know Paula approves of butter, you will find out when you enter the store. Its Butter Yall on dang near everything. Spent $15 on a shot glass, a bottle of hot sauce, and some fired chicken seasoning, I didn't think that too bad for what you know is a tourist trap going in the door. read more

I have never visited any Paula Deen's stores. My girlfriend, a chef, saw it and we instantly went in with no hesitation! Although we didn't eat here, it smelled so good! We were walking through the City Market and hadn't intended on coming into the store but we decided to pop in when we saw it. I will say that I am not a huge Paula Deen fan. However the store is very cute. The store is small and located next to the store however it has a lot of cute and kitschy items that any fan would like. They have an assortment of spices, rubs, sauces and marinades. They also have clothing, aprons, cookware, utensils and some other interesting items like butter flavored Chapstick. They had free samples out of one of the brownies and it was amazing. There are a lot of things here you probably can't find elsewhere however the cookware looked the exact same as what I would see at Walmart. The sales lady was very sweet and let me exchange the colors of a spatula when I saw they did indeed have a color that I thought they didn't have. The prices aren't inflated horribly considering this is definitely a tourist shop. Go ahead and wander inside. You might find something kind of cool. I found a salt box, my sister found some unique spatulas and my dads girlfriend loves her spatula with the "hey y'all" quote. read more

The Lady and Sons Restaurant next door kind of reminded me of Disney World. I can imagine in some future renovations that they could add a log flume ride that goes through all three levels of the restaurant, showcasing the "behind the scenes" tour of the kitchens (aka deep fryers) while perhaps using animatronic characters to tell the life story of our great state's most beloved celebrity chef, Paula Deen. Can't you just see a life size robot batting her eyelashes, unwrapping sticks of butter, while a recording plays a track of her most favorite phrases ("Best Dishes!")? Well, they are certainly on the right path to installing that flume ride, because like any good amusement park goer knows, the best rides always dump the guests out in the giftshop. And the Paula Deen Store is the giftshop of all things Paula Deen. Need any of her cookbooks, memoirs, or coffee table books? How about those of her sonss? How about her brother's? How about her husband's? Well, you can find them here, along with some really cute t-shirts, aprons, and unique kitchen supplies. The main attraction is the books, dozens and dozens that I didn't even know existed (and I consider myself a pretty big fan). The prices are the cover prices, so no discount, but each is signed by Paula herself. If you have a Paula Deen fan in your life, I guarantee a signed book will make you the number one recipient of delicious butter laden delicacies for at least a year (maybe even two). A note to the management: fans start waiting outside at 8am to score a reservation at the restaurant. This store is equipped with anything and everything you could want, as a Paula Deen fan. Conveniently located right beside The Lady and Sons restaurant, it is sort of like the gift shop for the restaurant. I actually visited The Paula Deen store on evening while I was in Savannah, and wasn't dining at the restaurant. There is an inside connecting walkway/entrance to the restaurant so if you wanted to go before you dine, or even after, you can do it in a one-stop-shop. I was able to purchase some souvenir items, such as coffee mugs with "Hey Ya'll" printed on the side, a Christmas ornament in the shape of butter, (LOVE), and some other Paula themed kitchen items. The only thing I wish they would have had, are baby onesies, or something similar. Can't complain though, this was a cute little stop along my Savannah shopping excursion! read more

I have to admit, I don't watch much TV. I've heard of Paula Deen, as I've heard of many other chef celebrities, but I can not claim to have ever sat down and watched a cooking show. At least not intentionally, or for more than a few minutes of catching one in the waiting room at a doctor's office. That didn't stop me from joining the rest of the tourists in town this afternoon to peruse through the Paula Deen store, and immediately snap up two $26 cook books. Each. Why??? you might ask, considering I don't really eat much southern fare. I was raised on grilled chicken, boiled veggies, minimally buttered mashed potatoes, and even our Micky D's fries (on the rare occasions we got those) were special ordered with OUT salt! Yes, we had to pull over and wait for them, as they were never ready at the food pickup drive through window. So what enticed me to select two cook books with plenty of recipes that are certainly not labeled "heart healthy"? I can imagine my father's disapproving looks. Sausage swirls? Bacon crisps? How have I raised you? I can hear him now.... One... for the mac N cheese recipe. As health conscious as I try to be, mac N cheese will always be allowed in my food pyramid. Since this recipe was not in the "Paula Deen & Friends" book, I had to grab "The Deen Family Cookbook" which featured my cheesy pasta recipe. The asparagus risotto with shrimp and scallops also jumped out at me too. And secondly.... in regards to the first book I picked up....who can resist the photo of Paula holding fresh lemonade with mint sprigs, in the midst of entertaining her beloved friends on a summer afternoon? A trip to the Paula Deen store seems almost necessary for any first time visit to Savannah! We stopped by on our first day in town as we were exploring the area. This is essentially a tourist trap for devotees with lots of Paula Deen knicknacks and souvenirs that contain her name with "Hey Ya'll" thrown on there. Aprons, mugs, towels, tee shirts, you name it, they got it! I loved the "Sweet Tea, Ya'll" glass and am still contemplating going back and getting it! The second floor is mainly her kitchen line which I have seen featured at Target among other national stores. Prices seem to be marked up but if you are a tourist and don't care and have money to burn, you will spend! If you are a fan of the show and Paula Deen, this place is for you! read more

YYYYEEEEEESSSSSS. This is a Paula Deen fan heaven. I love her. I love a store full of PD things. It was really hard not to buy more than a few little items (my husband was with me). I am extremely proud of my pink PD mug!! I also got a bag clip and a jar opener and some postcards. Had my husband NOT been standing on my shoulder like Jiminey Cricket, I would have got her dessert cookbook, some nuts, some spices, and insulated cup. An apron, a hoe cake pan, back issues of her magazine and possible some chapstick. They have everything there. It was like Christmas morning. I didn't even eat at the Lady and Sons. We ate dinner at the Lady and Sons while in Savannah, and beforehand we did a little shopping in the store. I picked up her original Lady and Sons cookbooks for my sisters, and didn't even know she had signed every single cookbook in the store until my husband pointed it out!! My favorite things in here were the cooking tools designed to make cooking fun for children (think bendy tools with suction cup feet), but there were beautiful dishes, aprons, and even some snazzy reading glasses.
