The practice is fairly large for a therapy practice according to Dr Evans, but they seem to have an expert to cover pretty much any problem. That's nice to know that they won't direct someone to a psychologist who isn't really familiar with their specific problem. I know that Dr Evans continues to teach at UF, so I feel good that he is knowledgeable and is well respected in the community. I sent a work colleague to him for some help for her son, she also was very happy with him and it sounds like he really helped her son. He is very easy-going and can be funny when he wants to. I liked that about him. He is clearly very smart but he doesn't talk over your head. I really liked that it was a real conversation with him. It made me feel at ease and I opened up more quickly than I thought that I would. I would say to anyone that you should try and do some research on any Thanks psychologist. His behavior has directly impacted my mother's care, as he prematurely signed her out of urgent care against medical advice, which nearly cost her life due to his cognitive decline. This lack of support and communication is unacceptable, especially given the gravity of the situation.

Rather than having to drive to their main location on Newberry Road in Gainesville, we have physicians as well as a complete physical therapy center right here in Alachua. My review today is about the physical therapy center. I have been to the Center for various things dating back to 2013. Chris, the physical therapist, meets with you during your first visit to do an intake assessment. He has a wonderful and caring personality and talks with you to learn more about your injury and your needs. He also discusses your goals to see where you want to be. After doing his assessment he develops a physical therapy plan for you and you typically start your treatment that day (at least I have). My treatment plan usually requires coming to the office twice a week. When you enter, you sign in and then one of the physical therapy assistants will get you started. I won't discuss specific treatment plans because everyone is different but I will say that the office is not overly crowded, you do get personalized attention, and it is a fun atmosphere. I enjoy talking with the staff as well as the other clients. So, if you are ever in need of physical therapy, I suggest you give the Alachua center of the orthopedic institute a try. They can get you on the track to good health and help you meet or exceed your goals.

Dr. Amiel is very condescending and rude, he will speak to you like you are stupid, will sit at his desk for 2+ hours typing away at his computer while barely providing any eye contact, and will ultimately make you feel like you are on trial or under arrest for something. During my second visit, he could tell within minutes that I was irritated by his tone. He asked if I was bothered by his questions, to which I told him I was bothered by how condescending he is. I then explained to him how many negative reviews written by former patients of his exist and how they paint an experience with him identical to mine. He seemed surprised, as though he never takes the time to see what his patients think, but he responded that I "shouldn't believe everything I read." Before I left our second visit, I told him I don't believe everything I read, I believe what I experience.
