He is one of the very few doctors in Gainesville who is not part of a group practice. His office is open M-Th, and on Friday he volunteers at the hospice. In my experience, I could talk until the cows come home and experience very little change. Dr. Mickler helps integrate what my mind thinks and my body feels, she helps me bridge the connection between KNOWING that I'm a pretty great person and actually FEELING like a pretty great person. The practice is fairly large for a therapy practice according to Dr Evans, but they seem to have an expert to cover pretty much any problem. That's nice to know that they won't direct someone to a psychologist who isn't really familiar with their specific problem. I know that Dr Evans continues to teach at UF, so I feel good that he is knowledgeable and is well respected in the community. I sent a work colleague to him for some help for her son, she also was very happy with him and it sounds like he really helped her son. He is very easy-going and can be funny when he wants to. I liked that about him. He is clearly very smart but he doesn't talk over your head. I really liked that it was a real conversation with him. It made me feel at ease and I opened up more quickly than I thought that I would. I would say to anyone that you should try and do some research on any Thanks psychologist. I did mine and I'm glad that I did.
