A lot of elements of this metro seem upgraded compared to others, and it's definitely way larger than it was back in the day. There's a huge bus area, and you can even catch the MARC. The escalators, core of the station itself, and platform are pretty straightforward. I haven't been in the metro during the peak of rush hour, so I can't speak on what that experience is like. But I imagine it's no different than everywhere else. You can only catch the Red line here, so read the maps so you know where to catch the other lines if necessary.

If you are entering a train, you can only go so far down the platform safely before being in someone else's way. The escalator situation here confuses me. It seems like they were meant to be helpful in the platform situation but I always end up being in the opposite direction from where I need to be. Exiting out onto the street was a bit of a mess as well. Everyone seems to filter to the one side that takes you into the downtown area. Everyone seems to have the same thought here, I'm entitled to the nearest gate even though I see you clearly standing there about to use it. It is a very well used station and I can see why with the connection to the bus bays. But until they are done doing whatever update there is, it's just not the best right now.

Also there should be a master list of all the buses that stop there, which bay each one stops at, and the time until the next bus rather than listing them at each bay individually. This should be displayed electronically, Passengers should not have to go to each bay to determine which bus stops where. It is time consuming and inconvenient. There are also many rats at this station, which are particularly active at night. So altogether not the greatest experience transferring there. Over and over again for an hour I tried to get help from Uber and couldn't reach a SINGLE PERSON. When I finally did--all they could do was charge me $30 for the trip you forced me to cancel THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE WHEN I ARRIVED and then charge me $78 for a new ride--$30 MORE THAN THE RIDE I HAD SCHEDULED. I've now paid $100 to wait an hour to get home when I should've paid $40 to not have to wait at all. They stole money from me, failed to help me when they left me stranded at the airport, finally *did* connect me with an agent only to charge me more than double for all the difficulty, and then made it impossibly difficult to even ASK for a refund--because there's no phone service for customer support. Just their circular AI and a series of multiple choice options THAT DO NOT COVER ALL POSSIBLE PROBLEMS. They're obviously trying very hard to take ZERO responsibility for your failures. So please know that I will NEVER use UBER again. I'm so done with them that I'm copy-pasting this review anywhere else that I can and giving them as many 1-star ratings as humanly possible.

Even as a first-time user of Greyhound, I felt that the boarding process did not need explanation, yet everyone already in line was yelling and pissed when others got to board before them. There needs to be a better system to organize. It's not Greyhound's first rodeo. Signs that indicate lining up by number would be useful. Or numerical markers on the ground where you would just find your boarding. Inner and stand there. The interior was comfortable in terms of lighting and temperature, but everything was so cramped together--bathrooms, vending machines, dollies, seats. There was a tiny TV anchored to the ceiling. WiFi did not work. I would not use Greyhound again. Employees yell, are disorganized, and just aren't trained in customer service and crowd control. Go with Megabus or Bolt Bus. The rest of the weekend I used the YCDC App and it worked beautifully. Again, no limos, but timely, nice drivers and easy. We tried to get an Uber once, but ended up going back to Yellow Cab. I used the YC mobile app & web app twice to get him a ride. Both times it said the driver would arrive in 4 mins--guess that's their default--but actually arrived in 15+ mins. When you book, they just tell you the ride is confirmed, but don't give you any information about the driver or how long it'll take for a few good long minutes. After a loooong wait, it says your driver is 4 mins away. The last time I booked with them, I watched the car on the app that had confirmed just sit, not move an inch, for probably 5 minutes solid. Geographically he was super close. Then for about 8 minutes he just inched along until he did finally reach the neighborhood. BUT, he whizzed right by the school and went down the street and just sat there. I called the service number 3 times-- it's just an automated machine. You can request to speak to the driver. Each of the three times I selected it, hoping to let him know that the school was behind him, it ring once and then hung up. After waiting for 16 minutes total for a car that was in the beginning had been like a 6-minute drive away, I cancelled the ride and ordered an uber for $8 more, which arrived in precisely 4 minutes.

Communication, both ways, was outstanding, and he was on time and helpful going and returning. We were out of the country for three weeks, Steve got us to the airport for the departure, and he was there when we got back, excellent service overall and I plan to use this service in the future. If you got to get there using someone else's transport, Steve and Bethesda Shuttle are your go to, you will NOT regret it.
