We have been loyal patients ever since. As a family, we make the 360 mile round trip for our checkups twice a year, and it is worth it. Appointments at Dr. Blackwood's office never feel rushed, he provides excellent, personal service, and he is the most qualified and competent dentist I've ever been to. Billing! I was a patient at Ormsby Dental for about three…read moreyears. During the first year, my insurance was billed appropriately. Over the next two years, I trusted that my insurance was still being billed as usual. At checkout after an appointment, I was unexpectedly told that I owed money because my insurance "wasn't covering" services from the past two years. I had never been contacted, notified, or given any information during that time that there was an issue with billing or coverage. The office stated they were "fighting this" with my insurance, but there was no follow-up communication, documentation, or evidence that claims were being resolved. I personally double-checked with my insurance company, and they confirmed they did not reveied billing for serviced. I then later received another bill from the office. I was notified due to the delay it was now too late for insurance to try and cover. This situation was avoidable with clearer communication. I would recommend being very cautious here with billing and payments. Call your insurance to ensure they are receiving billing from this dentist.

They have also ruined my husbands mouth. They have cut in to his gums so many times and HAVE CAUSED SO MUCH INFECTION AND PAIN and destroyed his gum lines to the point he now requires reconstructive gum surgery, he has also had to have fillings redone because the sub par filling materials they use at this facility are defective, and The last straw was on my last visit they made me wait in the waiting room for 25 minutes after my appointment time because again Main "Doctor" had scheduled a procedure DURING "surgery" MY APPOINT SLOT. NONE OF THEM IN THE ENTIRE OFFICE VALUE NORE RESPECT THEIR CLIENTS TIME NORE DO THEY CARE ABOUT THE WELLNESS OR THEIR PATIENTS. For starters, it was during the electionand he went off on conspiracy theories and voter fraud when I couldn't respond nor had I even started a political conversation. It was kind of weird and socially inappropriate. On one occasion when I came for my appointment, he was taking a little snooze behind the front desk person. I found that very unprofessional. Why not go into a private office for a rest instead of making us feel worried that you are sleeping on the job in between patients? But I ignored all that because the Groupon was a good deal and I thought I was getting good care. A few years later and I have had multiple dentists x ray and tell me how badly done my implant and my crown are. The crown had an overhang that was causing gum recession. The implant is not in straight, not well seated, and smells like decay by the end of almost every day. I have to floss super well every night or it gets worse. The crown recently came off and there is decay underneath so I'm glad that it came off and I'm having a vetted and trusted, albeit more expensive, dentist redo the crown and do it right this time.
