The hygienist kept HOUNDING me about flossing for the entire appointment. Dude, I get it, leave me alone. Then the doctor kept making all these weird comments about my nose ring, talking about hanging floss from it and other weird stuff. Every sentence led back to my nose ring and it made me very uncomfortable. It's not a comfortable space for anyone that has any unique qualities that stray from the expected standard Utah appearance.

Prices are fair. I like that they can text as well. Last week I needed a last minute appointment on a tooth that has been unhappy. I was watching my two nephews (6 and 10) so I didn't think I could go in. The front desk was so kind and when I explained the boys were nice kids and could sit quietly on their iPads the ladies offered to watch them since I didn't have other options. I was so grateful!! I had sent an online request for a phone call and right at 8:00 AM I received a call asking how they could help. Luckily I was able to be seen and he crafted his magic to put my tooth back in. With some honesty feedback that he wasn't sure how long it would last but it allows me to buy some time to save up for a replacement. The staff was pleasant and so genuine. According to Blue Cross Blue Shield, my legal, in-network patient responsibility is only $793.60. Instead of finding the best savings, the office pre-billed my loan for nearly double what I actually owe to include unscheduled future work. The office manager admitted in writing that the loan included uncompleted treatment, but instead of voiding the contract, the office has ghosted me, tried to hit me with illegal debit card processing fees, and is hiding my financial ledger. I waited 30 minutes before being seen which she apologized for and gave me a $5 gift card to Starbucks which is nice (but speaks to the high cost of operating this place). She seemed to listen and did a good job cleaning my teeth. 2 stars is for her. My dentist smelled of private equity and a complete disinterest in people he doesn't relate to. He recommended up-charged toothpaste, and up-charged filling material after explaining basic dental hygiene before asking about my existing habits. Then gave a treatment plan with high cost and high urgency. I received a second opinion from a lower-overhead dentist who had practical equipment and no comfort menu or drinks to speak of, but the same service was offered at a much more affordable price and much of what was itemized by Holladay was included in the overall cost from a well-regarded dentist in the area. My personal cost-incurred was around 1/4 of what Holladay quoted. He knew he could have come in at 7/8 of Holladay's cost and would have won my business but he charged for what I needed and committed to monitoring the rest as they were not of immediate importance. If you drive a Range Rover, require luxury in everything you do, and enjoy lighting money on fire, I'd recommend Holladay. If you drive a Toyota, require practical, affordable dental care from someone who takes pride in providing to the majority of the population without the frills, I'd look elsewhere.

I also didn't experience any pain whatsoever after the work was done. I can't recommend oral sedation enough. His staff was wonderful and treated me so expertly and with kindness. Especially, the office manager. I expressed my concern about their 3% fee to use our health equity debit card for an upcoming procedure. If you don't pay via check or CASH, they charge a 3% fee. No other medical offices do this, in my experience. I use my health equity card for all of our medical expenses. When I told them I won't be coming back. The office manager was extremely rude. I just received a bill from my last appointment. I declined the option for a fluoride treatment. They charged me for it anyway. I declined it due to their added fees. I nave never paid out of pocket prior for the standard exam and x rays. They must be hurting for money. Real classy Genesis Dental! I will be fighting your bogus charge.
