    After I re did them

I love this place to go get my hair done, they always do great on my hair... but, I saw the they do $25 full set! I was so excited I booked an appointment and I fully understand that students will take longer because they are less experienced but 6 hours to do my nails... that's totally ridiculous, I mean the girl who did my nails she was a sweetheart and so nice but the teacher was never there, never came to check how she was doing. Acrylic application was awful and you'd think they'd teach them better or better techniques to help with clumps, nope doesn't seem like they teach them at all... so disappointed, honestly I tried to like them, but one hand hade longer nails and some weren't even the shape i wanted.. I'm really upset too because the girl doing them was having such a hard time with my nails.. the teacher needs to do better... if they aren't confident/comfortable doing nails then don't put them out there with no knowledge. Never will i come back to get my nails done here. They were so bad I redid them myself and I've never done acrylic and they look better... I hope that young lady can go places and I know she's got talent but the teachers need to teach better. I will always come back for my hair though, I got a deep conditioning maybe a week before my nails and it was so amazing, I had this beautiful kind women that just was so amazing she made my hair so soft and she trimmed it! It looked so good. The vibe was okay the young lady was crying while doing my nails because her friend just graduated from the program so I understand that but she would answer personal calls and would cuss and be aggressive while talking to whoever she was, it was uncomfortable and she would text every so often.. I don't mind I few here and there but when my nails take 6 hours to do I do mind. I hated them so much but I knew that young lady tried so I still tipped her $20 onto the $30 dollar service.

Everybody needs to learn their craft before they can go out and do it. In order to do that, they need clients who won't be mad if mistakes are made. We've been in here 3 or 4 times now. I'll summarize those experiences: -Hair dye and cut ended up taking a LONG time because they had to fix mistakes. But they were very nice and they didn't ruin my wife's hair! -Men's cuts have been fine. Both times I've had a man who is clearly planning to go to a men's barbershop. Lots of clippers and fade work. It was fine. One of the guys listened to music in his headphones while he worked (which is cool but unconventional). -The nail salon visits have been fine. We've had different experience/ability levels. Overall, you can't beat the price if you are willing to try out new people.

I had my hair done by Amber. She was so amazing and sweet and I'm so in love with my hair! It was beyond affordable and was such a lovely experience. She gave me my confidence back with my new hair! Highly recommend!

My hair was severely damaged for a while. I wanted to go short for a minute. I found out about this place and just decided to go in and OMG! that was one of my best decisions ever!!! I got a LONG BOB!!! Hair artist SHIRLEY helped me out with my deep conditioning, hair cut and styling. She was so amazing and friendly. We talked and laughed the whole time while she was working on my hair. She was very careful and patient with her work. Then came the instructor ROB!!! He went above and beyond with suggestions and guidance. He checked on my hair frequently. They doublechecked with me several times about the exact length I wanted which is all a client can ask for!!!! Both of them made me feel like home. I felt like I was literally meeting some old friends. The whole vibe was humble!!! I felt so welcomed that I booked another service before even leaving the school. Thank you so very much ROB and SHIRLEY for my new hair !!! I absolutely adore it!!!

Went in for a gentle highlight to break up the roots and cover the gray. My hair was severely damaged with bleach spots and over processing. Worst hair experience of my life. Hair stylist didn't apologize and instructor tried to fix. I'll go back again and instructor will try to fix again. They made me still pay towards the service. Not only does my hair look terrible but the bleach sat on it forever. Completely disorganized and ruined the integrity of my hair

I absolutely love this place! Ashley is wonderful and does amazing work! I am a natural dark brunette that went platinum blonde a couple years ago. It has been treacherous to my hair and I have recently gone to balayage to be kinder to my hair. Ashley has been phenomenal and key in doing this and I couldn't be happier! Do yourself and your wallet a favor and go see her!!!

Every time we send our son here, we are not disappointed. Have never had a bad perm. Best prices ever.

Never returned phone call which is the only way to communicate with them if you are setting appointments.

My hair trim was free??? Free??? That's unheard of. The students here always do a great job, you can tip cash, tip your hair dresser!

Ask the Community - Paul Mitchell The School Reno

Where can I find a nice place to get my hair cut?

Paul Mitchell the School Reno offers haircuts from $5-$10 each. But for a salon, I personally recommend Atelier in Midtown, TresImage in NW Reno, Caliber in Midtown/Wells Area, Posh in South-ish Reno.....

The students are fine and you're likely to make some friends. The education is good and they have plenty of extra curriculum classes. And overall you will get what the average student is looking for in a school.

From a senior who has been here since the lockdown, don't send your kid to this school. Sure, I…read morehave had wonderful teachers here, but it honestly sucks. If you complain to the principal over serious issues, he doesn't care, he doesn't even respond to you. There was a code yellow like last year and it should've been a code red cause people brought weapons on property and they wanted to cover it up. Other students and myself are the only reason parents got a call the NEXT day about it. There's too many details to share here. Even today I am terrified when the announcements sound comes over the speakers if it is at a random time. Many people at our school are aware of the stoners and vapers and they don't do anything about it. It's so bad that you can't go into certain bathrooms because those are the 'smoke spots'. As I did mention, I have had some wonderful teachers, so it just sucks that I have to complain about the teachers here as well. For this one teacher, in context (which doesn't make it much better) we talked about humanistic psychology and a criticism of it is that they are over accepting. Basically the teacher stated that "so if you ___ 4 year olds." Yeah, we all looked at each other disgusted like "Did he really say that? That's disgusting." That same teacher has also made very rude and snarky remarks to students. A very very controlling person. Some days I don't wanna go to school because I'm scared he'll make remarks about me and humiliate me in front of the class, he's already done it to me. After lunch, I think based on my experience, the upstairs bathrooms are a hit or miss because they are either locked all class period during 3rd period or open after 20 minutes. So if you really need to use it, Aunt Flo has arrived, or whatever, you're screwed until the end of the day if you're lucky enough to get to a bathroom. Honestly, if you want better education for your kids: go somewhere else. Maybe even go to Finland. Overall, can't wait to graduate because this has been a rollercoaster if the rollercoaster was barely on the track, had no seatbelts, and was on fire. Edit: Another thing, they just told us a week ago that we could be staying till 4:30pm for the exam, which would be ok, IF they told us like a month ago. So now the teacher basically said to just take that day off from work, for students who work, when it is probably too late to say anything. But the problem is, I have an off campus that day (which I worked s hard to get) and the purpose for that off campus is to help my dad because of medical issues. They literally told me I can't do anything about it so now I have to figure out 1. How to get home 2. Where to put my stuff 3. How my dad will get the help he needs.
