ZERO STARS!! This "school" does not care for your education. Multiple times the students have gone above the "learning leaders" to discuss an issue and not once was it taken seriously or was there an explanation. There was the most WONDERFUL teacher for one month then she got ripped out of the class and replaced with someone that has zero experience in that category. The new teacher has since gotten the class extremely behind on lessons. Has said multiple times she is learning as well. Asks the students what they want to do instead of having lesson plans ready for us. The students have done an abundance of word searches and crossword puzzles and has learned NOTHING since the previous teacher was replaced. Attitudes are a regular towards the class. | 100% DO NOT recommend this school. Please save your time and money and go elsewhere. read more

I understand that it's hard to please every student but I feel like they truly try their best. I feel like this place and the staff that I've had communication with are a safe place and do not deserve the hate they get. Half the students complain when they have to do anything with their education.. they just want to clock in and sit on their phone. But when we have a guest artist in the building so we can't submit credits, then they complain they aren't learning for that hour. read more

Hello do NOT go to paul mitchell. You learn nothing ,get no experience, rude unprofessional teachers. My friend is having to cram 27weeks of work into 7 weeks because the teacher does not know how to do her job and stay on task. Tiffany thought it would be a good idea to cuss out and scream at the students. Personally I would not want anyone to be in an environment that is toxic. My daughter and I went in for a full days line up of pampering: facial, mani/pedi, deep conditioning hair treatment, cut and style. I must say the price is right. However, on some of the services you get what you pay for. The facial was 10/10 for both myself and daughter. Mani/pedi was 1/10 for myself and 5/10 for my daughter. It looks like my 9 year old son painted my toes! She filed so hard I was bleeding in several spots. She chipped my toe nail so deeply it was bleeding. Her supplies were so full she was unable to trim my fingernails. On the other hand, my daughters mani/pedi were decent. If you're wanting a salon quality skip the mani/pedi here. I ended up to a salon on the way home to fix my finger and toe nails. Moving on to hair- my experience was a 6/10. Daughters was 10/10. She received a great head massage with hers. I think it all depends on who you get for your services. Haircut and style were 8/10 for myself and 10/10 for daughter. I had asked twice for long layers. That didn't happen. However - it was cut nice and even straight across the back and the style was great. Daughter had a trim and blowout. Super happy with that. We will be back bc we purchased the VIP for $25/6months. This will give us complementary hair cuts and 50% off additional services. We will not chose any mail services but will be back for skin and hair. One more note- there were instructors standing around. Not once did come to check on their work or how we felt. I totally understand this is a school for students to work on/improve/perfect their skills- however I do feel that an educator should take a look at their work along the way. This is NOT a learning school. The most unprofessional atmosphere and instructors. They push you through your course just to get you out of there. They changed my class instructor mid course and everything went downhill. Attitudes all around and DOES NOT help when asking for it. When bringing up concerns to the "higher ups" they completely brush it under the rug and act like it's not a big deal. We bring attention to the problems in classroom and our instructor likes to snap at us and have unnecessary attitude instead of solving the problem in a nice manner. ALSO the "smoke free" campus isn't very smoke free when the esthetic instructor has her vape sitting out on her desk. Once again VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. read more

The students are not receiving a proper education, the teachers do not care about their students they are there for their checks and that's all. Teachers are yelling at the students and engaging in arguments instead of helping them and a student has been THREATENED by a teacher who was yelling and cussing at them. If I could give a 0 star review I would. I went to school here for what felt like the longest year of my life. If you go to this school to get your hair done because its cheaper there is reason why. They never had shampoo or color in stock bc they are too busy using all of the tuition money illegally and spending it for themselves. They treat the students like children no matter the age and drain the life and happiness out of them. If you go on a tour of this salon it will be made to look like it is the most welcoming and supportive place to be but it is all a facade. Not only are the students treated poorly but the staff is as well. While at school they went through 20+ employees that I can count of, some of which were only for there for a month. The toxicity of this place consumes you and effects how you treat the people in your normal life. They would lock the door at 9:00 to students who were PAYING $21,000 a year to go there. The higher ups were and always will be on a power trip. You are basically paying to be debilitated. Even though we pay 20+ thousand dollars to go there we would have too pay to get our hair done. 5$ for a shampoo. A tiny 1 oz. cup of shampoo for 5$. Where is all of my money going if there is no shampoo and no color. What am I paying for? Because it is NOT for the supplies (which fall apart and suck all around), NOT for the the products (which they never had in stock), and NOT for the education (which was little to none no matter how many times we asked for better education). What I find even worse is that while going to the school they raised the tuition for the newer students. How are you raising your tuition when you don't have the supplies or resources to teach them? I would also like to add that there were anywhere from 200- 250 students in the school and only around 40-55 stations available for working. Most of us sat in a crowded classroom or in random chairs around the salon. They made us get hours called "professional developement" that was not required by stateboard and only existed because they did not want to hire staff to hand out shampoo and wash all of the towels, bowls, and brushes at the school. So in order to graduate we had to do laundry and wash dishes and supply other students with shampoo instead of leaving us that time to get our other state board REQUIRED credits. They also went on a power trip and dropped 5 students for not signing out correctly and gave them little to no help on coming back until one of those students went on social media and outed them for how they acted and got corporate involved. I highly recommend you go to any other school besides Paul Mitchell Norman. Do not tour the school. Do not listen to their lies. And do not sign that contract. read more

The experience was amazing. I loved my stylist and her teacher too. Didn't think it would take 4 hours so I brought my daughter, she's almost 5 but very well behaved, and the gals at the front basically entertained her the whole time! I felt bad but I didn't want to cancel last minute. My sitter had car issues and got stuck outside of OKC so I didn't have a choice. They were all so sweet and helpful. The haircut could have been a little better, it was just a trim but it's nothing super noticeable. The color looks great though! Definitely became a repeat customer. ‍ read more

First off, do not expect the full service salon of Beverly Hills. These are students honing their craft. Also, don't expect a bunch of kids with round tip scissors. Most of the students are about to graduate and have achieved a high level of understanding of their skills. They just need the practice. In exchange, you get salon services diet freakin' cheap! My 16yo wanted silver hair. Yup...that's my life. Anyway, I wasn't willing to drop $300 and neither was he. It took two sessions (they had to strip the red box dye out first) but $90 later he was silver with a fresh cut. Plus that included those VIP package that gives him free cuts and 50% off services for a year. Sure it takes a bit longer than at a salon but you just can't beat the price. A teacher supervised all the steps. You can do a walk in if you're lucky; I suggest calling to make an appointment. We will be going back...duh, he's got free cuts for a year! read more

I came here for a full head of highlights and the girls did not disappoint. Lola, with the help of jayda and Jenn, did a fantastic job on my hair and were so pleasant to talk to. It did take quite a bit of time (5 hours) but keep in mind this is a school. The students are still learning. That said, the quality was fantastic and for the price you can't beat it ($40 FULL head!!). And they've don't a better job than some professional places I've been to. Only problem i had was a bit too platinum by the front of my face and a bit more of a root than professionals. Besides this would definitely recommend. I would give a zero star if possible. I went to this place two other times before my latest experience with them. all I got the previous times was a deep conditioning and a blowout (straightening hair) both experiences were great till today. I went in for a relaxer because my hair is really curly! I came in on the scheduled date and got seated and that's when they told me that they don't do relaxers, even though it says they do on their website! so instead they said they were going to order a perm that would make my hair strait. so a week later when I come in they start the process and after they apply the perm and wash my hair they are now ready to blow dry it and style it. but the thing was my hair wasn't straight!!!!!! it was still curly!! so then they proceeded to blow dry, straighten, and cut my hair. I was so mad because it took they like an hour and a half to straighten my hair!!! I dont have an hour and a half each day to straighten my hair but hats what a relaxer is for! they cut my hair too short and ruined my hair! they also told me that if i wanted my hair straiter that I would need to come back for an other straight perm and give them more money for things to not work out right! no thank you!! don't go here for big hair changes because they will ruin your hair!!!! read more

I don't write reviews often and I really tried to refrain from it. I'm actually really upset. The color wasn't 100% what I wanted, but I'm not too upset about that, it was the cut. The girls at first were wonderful and quick with coloring my hair, but the lady they got to cut my hair didn't seem to listen. My bangs are atrocious. They do not blend at all. And on top of all of that, she seemed as if I had burdened her whenever the other girls told her to cut my hair???? If you go here, be 100% clear what you want and say it several times. I thought I had, but apparently not. There's absolutely nothing I can do about my cut now other than let it grow out. read more

It is very cheap to get your haircut, but it will take a long time. I usually wait about 5-10 minutes for someone to greet me when I've made an appointment, which is pretty annoying, but that's the only thing I have a problem with. The people are usually very friendly. An instructor meets with you before, during, and after every single time. I have ALWAYS had my cut checked. There is a gal with a pixie cut who is a ridiculously knowledgeable. Cuts are free for OU & UCO students, but it takes, at MINIMUM 2 hours. Like most people Im picky about my hair, but as a hair stylist I'm extra picky! My husband and I just moved here from Arkansas where I was getting my hair done at the salon I worked at. But not knowing anyone in the area I decided to try the PM school because I love Paul Mitchell everything. The student I went to has since graduated but she did a GREAT job! She did a full foil highlight with 20 developer like I asked, other wise she would have used 5 or 10 and that would have done nothing. for some reason at the school they use lower volume unless you ask to be safe but in the end it ruins my hair having to lighten it twice. she was very professional and made light conversation but also let me rest my eyes haha. I will say, however, this is a school, and they are learning so you can't expect $200 service for a $65 foil by someone who's maybe done 10 of them. If you want someone with more experience, ask for a Phase 2 when you make the appointment. The girls have to audition to be in this program and it shows that they have more knowledge and experience. I took off one star because again, I'm super picky and although she did do a really great job for being a student and it was inexpensive, she could have gotten a little closer to the root. I had to put in 5-6 foils at the top of my head the next week because it looked like I had a little too much grow out. But at least the back was done and I can't do that part! read more

I had so many issues with this place. It was all fine until we came back after covid hit. There was a lot of stuff i was promised I would learn by graduation and never learned. They told me they were going to offer classes to the graduates that didn't earn these things and 3 months after graduation I have not heard one word. The director does not do anything to help students with problems at the school, and most of the time you can't even find her or she's locked away in her office. I've never heard of such a "professional" school being so bad. Can't tell you how many times I had issues with staff or "miscommunications". The students are amazing and so sweet but staff is the complete opposite.I have a friend who is still in school who has said things are not getting any better and are actually getting worse. I have been going to the Paul Mitchell Imagine school for about 2 years now. My 1st experience was fantastic. I've had decent luck with the students since then, too, although nothing that lived up to my 1st time here. Today was just bad. Yes - I know - it is a school. But to be fair, I think it's going downhill, in case you want to know. The last time I came in for highlights was 5 most ago in May, and 2 students worked on me - and I was finished quickly. Each student painted bleach on either side of my head, and my only complaint was that neither of them paid any attention to the front. (You know, where bangs are - just above my face.) So I told them today that was something I wanted them to make right. But no. Again, 2 girls worked fast painting bleach on either side of my head. About the time they were finished, an instructor comes over and I say to her I'm concerned about how the foils were put in with no attention to my hairline at the bangs. So she loaded up a paint brush with some bleach, and blanked out any possible weave of my natural hair color. Oh - and now is when they tell me they are out of the color I drove 36.5 miles to get put on my hair. So they convince me to let them put "this stuff is exactly like the one you want." After a vigorous workup of that wrong color on my poor scalp by the instructor, it turns out maize yellow with some dots of Cheetos orange. NOT even close to the right color. Now, I am no professional... but there were so many things that went wrong. And they charged me for it! But tomorrow they want me to return down there for a free "fix" of the problem, by one the same very inexperienced persons who is responsible for this mess? Did I mention that I don't live nearby - and in total it will be 146 miles roundtrip in my mid-sized car which costs about $17 in fuel? Oh - and because I actually have some of the PM hair dye the school failed to keep in stock - they told me to bring it in tomorrow, instead of them going to the beauty supply store for this "fix" of their poor job... that will add another $12 onto the other $17 of inconvenience. At this rate, I don't trust them to fix anything! And it is leaving the realm of a cheap hairdo. I'm sitting here very sad, disappointed and with ugly hair. read more

I came into this school being very excited cause i wanted to learn a lot about cosmetology and start a career, coming on the first day was great but after awhile it started to become very miserable. the students are very nice and I appreciate them making my time more bearable . But the teachers especially one.. ummm let's just say they do have favorites for sure and they are very rude to you when you need help or they just won't help if they don't like you. I've gotten a very rude comment about me and I decided to leave and had many warnings by one of my hairstylists who's a very good friend so be careful. read more

There was a time when there were varying levels of singing, dancing and silliness going on, but there have been staff changes in recent months and the atmosphere is much more professional now. Having said that, I have been to the school at this location several times and have been well cared for and satisfied each and every time. It takes longer than a retail store, but the end result is equal or better. I have been seeing the same stylist for about a year and I can see her grow in confidence and skill each time I return. Oh to the girl that said her hair has never felt so soft before............... I was talking to Trey (one of the students, young gay guy). He said for the deep conditioning treatment they use conditioner that's made for black peoples hair and that's what they use to deep conditioner white peoples hair. So of course that's going to make a white persons hair feel great afterwards. LOL. So white people use this & get a shower cap & put a blow dryer to it so it will get your hair nice and hot. First off, Taylor W. is an AMAZING stylist here! She can answer any question you have, she always checks with a learning leader before cutting or coloring, and she wants to give you whatever look YOU want. She is very professional and absolutely loves what she does. The ladies at the front desk are warm and welcoming, and the learning leaders are respectful, helpful, but in the end want YOU to be completely satisfied with the result. It is not too expensive at all since they are still students, but leaving a tip isn't a bad idea. However, you will be there all evening since the stylists have to check with their learning leaders, so plan ahead. read more

Today I volunteered to help a friends daughter with a "core" test and I was her live dummy. When my friends daughter was accepted into PM they said how excited they were and at orientation how nice and their "family" policy was so great. As this young lady has been like one of my own she let me know how excited she was for this new journey. As I was at PM today and I watched from afar all the interaction and young ladies striving for a new beginning I found myself somewhat very disappointed with the upper students I guess you would call them. Some of your so called professional instructors didnt seem interested in watching these girls do their jobs. I also saw some of the girls quietly talking with one another and yes they are not to do that or help each other out and that's understandable but what I did see that did not impress me is one of your students from another class came out and had told these two young ladies they were blow drying with the wrong hand they are to use their non dominant hand and that may be true but ad I asked my hair dresser while driving home he said absolutely not. So as these young girls seemed confused after this upper class mate spoke out of term and had them confused she then turns around and snitches on them for talking. Well maybe she shouldn't have spoken out of term and confused them so horribly bad and they wouldn't have talked. I felt horrible seeing one particular instructor and and upper student whispering and giggling and these young girls of course must think its about them. Poor girls my heart went out to them. I think the worst experience of the whole day was seeing how caddy your upper students are to the as they call themselves "freshman". If you call yourself a "family" and say you are here to help them grow then this school is doing a poor job at that. If this is the schools way of "hazing" then that is a bad thing and shame on PM for allowing this to happen. You are messing with these young girls career and future. I have never seen so many frustrated young ladies. Remember PM instructors and more so the girls who were just in their shoes, 6 weeks is all they have had and in such an extremely large amount of students. How can you even expect any one on one as we had too wait endlessly for an instructor to check the work. I've been using this school for several years now and up until the last 2 appointments haven't had issues (aside from everything taking forever which should be expected since it's a school). The last time my sister and i went they colored her hair and it came out awful! bright orange, it was bad. they did try to fix it and helped some but it took several weeks for it to tone down. On that same trip my sister and i both bought VIP cards which would give us free cuts and half price everything else. I specifically asked if the card could be used by immediate family and was told "absolutely! any immediate family could use the card no worries!". LIES! they told both me and my sister more than once. when my mom went to use it today she was "told no way! it's only for the one who purchased it". I'm definitely not buying another one and after this one expires i most likely won't be back at all. If you're willing to take forever to get a fairly decent job most of the time for cheap this is the place for you. if you don't mind being lied to, this is the place for you. if you appreciate honesty i'd avoid it altogether. read more
