She repeatedly cut me off, wouldn't listen when I spoke, and quoted me prices that are beyond ridiculous. I felt completely unwanted as a customer. Everything that I brought up, she would tell me every difficulty or issue that could ever possibly become a problem and then just go silent as though waiting for me to decide we didn't want to build after all. She refused to listen to what I was saying, would constantly speak over me, and was incredibly condescending. In the end, after being quoted $900k for a 3500 sqft duplex, and over $300k for a garage with a small ADU, I said no thanks and am taking my business elsewhere.

I will be pursuing slander charges against Mill Brook. I kept asking for pricing and got no response for weeks. I was not the one who pulled out of the contract. I have multiple emails to prove this. If these people are so rotten to slander a person in order to defend their scam, then so be it. I waited weeks for a reply on pricing, sent in a deposit (of which I have proof) and never heard from them. They never told that they could not take on this project. I never said I had permits. I told them I had approval from the City of Boston, and they had the documentation tot show this. I told them that I was waiting for the final permit. So Cary, if you want to put lies on a public space, you will pay the price.

John and his assistant John came over to take a look at our house and to review the engineered plans. John provided us with a fair estimate and proof of insurance. We felt confident that John could do the job. On the very first day of John and John beginning the project, they discovered ducts in the walls which were not shown in the engineered plans. They immediately stopped working and told us to review our options and make a decision that we were comfortable with. They were extremely patient and never pressured us to continue the project. Several weeks later after we had the hvac ducts removed, the project resumed. They moved with great speed through the project. Our house was cleaned up when they left each day. They could not have been more pleasant, and the communication was outstanding. Factors outside of John's control (hvac issues from an hvac company we hired) complicated the project, but John never seemed frustrated when the project was delayed. John took what had become a very stressful situation and eased our worries. He advocated for us every step of the way and went above and beyond any of our expectations. The project was finished in a timely manner, and the work was beautifully done. I can honestly say John is the most honest contractor I have ever met. We are so appreciative to have found him, will be repeat customers, and would recommend him to anyone looking for an honest and fair contractor.

We hired John to replace just about all of the windows (13) in our 1897 Victorian home. John came highly recommended, and we couldn't have been happier with his work. John was the kindest, most honest, and highly-skilled contractor I've ever worked with. He gave us a very reasonable quote for the window work, and did a great job setting expectations on how long the work would take and what it would entail. John and his team then installed the windows expertly, in the estimated time frame, and on budget. John and his team were also extremely courteous while working in our home during COVID, and went above and beyond cleaning up after themselves and taking away all the garbage. When they left, we simply got to enjoy having windows that kept our home warm . John will definitely be the first person I contact for any work associated with our home for many years to come.

He is honest, works hard and takes pride in his work. I have had him do floors for my house that stood the test of time for years. Then moved on to two bathroom renovations that were beautiful and completed on time and on budget. Most recently (November 2016) he completed a complete renovation of my kitchen. It looks AMAZING and he worked ridiculously hard to get it done on time so I could host 24 people for Thanksgiving dinner. Again, can't explain the review I just saw from Amelia, but I highly recommend Kris and will use him again for my next upcoming bathroom reno.

BEWARE! I hired Kris (KNM Construction) to build a 3 season room and it was a disaster. It took him…read more3 MONTHS to complete 1 1/2 WEEKS of work. The project was to just build a rough frame, we wanted to finish the inside ourselves. Well, we got rough alright. He left the entire roof overhang inside the room, we had to cut it back ourselves after he was 'done'.The door leaked from the moment it was installed and it took me TEN MONTHS to get him to replace it, and yes it leaked the entire ten months and I don't think Kris cared at all. I'm not sure he had even installed a door before but luckily he brought someone with him when he put in the replacement who had, or at least he could read directions so it was done right. The roof was not tied into my existing roof correctly so it leaked all winter. It cost us an additional $2000 to have the roof repaired by someone else. Kris also lied about how the new stairs were supported. He told me the railing post at the bottom of the stairs was a few feet in the ground, that was not true, he cut the post at the ground. My yard is very sandy and the stairs needed the support. He put the stringers right on the ground, not even a patio block for support. They sank about three inches and were pulling away from the landing. He had attached a diagram with his bldg appl showing the railing posts sunk into the ground for support. His total disregard for my families safety is horrible. This type of work is inexcusable. If my review can spare someone else from having to go this this it is worth it.
