UPDATE: Since I posted my review, every concern I had was rectified and then some. I cannot stress…read moreenough how much I respect this doctor. He truly does listen, and takes your imput as well as your treatment seriously. He needs to be on the cover of a magazine or something, because I was crying and vomiting from pain almost daily, hardly sleeping, and utterly out of hope. Such extreme pain makes you feel like you're going to lose your mind. Dr. Ky has changed everything for me (Tracy, the specialist therapist is a godsend as well), and I can say with full and complete confidence that this is beyond five star treatment. ESPECIALLY in America - it took me years to find someone like him and Tracy. They're on top of all the latest studies, and are happy to educate you whenever you ask. It's wonderful. This guy is a rising star, and now the staff is truly comprised of compassionate, angelic beings. Seriously, they are the nicest nurses ever. I think the beginning phase there just had a few post-opening hiccups. If you come in for a consultation, you will see why I instantly loved these people and wanted them to succeed so desperately. Pain management deals with individuals who are extremely stretched thin, worn out, and we don't rest well and therefore can feel quite sensitive. Being stressed about potentially not having your medication/being dropped as a patient is a constant fear a majority of us have, so it's seriously terrifying to assert yourself when asking for updates or whatever. That is not something you should worry about here, so long as you are cordial, obviouslt. It's so great and exciting that there's a solid team now who handle interactions in a way that makes pain management, well...painless. (Yes I'll see myself out) Keep up the good work, everyone!!! We need you out here!

The staff was so helpful and polite. The doctor actually looked me over ran some manual tests and now I am going to get treated the proper way. What a great place. A bit off the open track of places and I live in Imperial Beach, but the drive is so worth it. I have told other people if you want a doctor who does care go here, and you wont be disappointed. 5 BIG STARS!! Thank you. James Marshall

The office WAS very professional & the staff courteous. However, for over a year, it has been very challenging! The girls in the office are wonderful w/1 exception! Jasmine has been extremely rude & hateful toward me! Sadly, she's the 1 person who checks the patients in. This person/position represents the office, greets patients & assigns patient placement! I'm usually about 30 min early but always the last to be seen. I'm usually seen an hour or so after my appt time. Oddly, it was never that way for 9 years! I don't expect to be seen early, I do expect to seen within a half hour! To be seen last every visit this year, regardless of the appt time, couldn't be a coincidence! I recently had a problem with the pharmacy because my prior authorization wasn't faxed over till several calls with Jasmine! I finally returned to Dr Chesler to pick it up then I was told it was sent! A useless hr! I've issued a complaint to the Dr & the office manager Jean/wife. Nov 26th I spoke to the person directly! Jasmine, w/her co-worker listening at the door, openly answered *I have no problem w/you*, then stated *I don't talk to you* said it all. She's a greeter/receptionist so that's the point exactly! Oct 24, 2019 the office manager was in the Escondido/San Marcos location & it happens that Jasmine spoke to me. I had to ask another employee her name. We're at our best when the head boss is the office! Loyalty should count for something. In 10 yrs, this situation is my ONLY complaint! I asked to be checked in by anyone else but her behavior is condoned! I see in a note below that someone else has complained specifically about Jasmine!

I belong to a PPO and was looking for a doctor who worked with post-polio patients; however, after calling the office for the first time and talked to the front desk girl, I did not get a good feelings about the ways the office was being managed just from the ways she answered my questions: very rude and disrespectful.

I scheduled my appointment with this office weeks in advance, and confirmed it ahead of time. I was…read morereally looking forward to this massage therapy appointment because I rely on it weekly and truly needed it. When I arrived, I waited in the lobby for 30 minutes with no explanation. That's already a problem--people have busy lives and make time for these appointments. After finally being called up, I was told they didn't accept my insurance. This was confusing because: * They did accept my insurance at my previous appointment with a massage therapist at this facility. * My insurance shows they are contracted with this provider. * I had an authorization with their office name on it, which insurance companies do not issue unless the provider is in-network. If my insurance "wasn't accepted," that should have been flagged at the time of booking, or at the very least, someone should have followed up with me before the appointment, not after I had driven over 45 minutes and waited to be seen. When I asked the front desk why I wasn't notified, they just said "I don't know," and walked away. That kind of dismissive attitude is completely unprofessional. Patients reschedule things, take time off work, spend gas money--this is not something you casually brush off. The owner later claimed it was an issue "between me and my insurance," but that's not accurate. My insurance does cover services at this facility. The issue is that the office failed to inform me that, for whatever reason, they decided they wouldn't honor that. That miscommunication is on them, not my insurance. The owner also suggested I "pay out of pocket next time to avoid these nightmares." Not only is that tone incredibly insensitive, it completely misses the point. Many patients can't afford to pay out of pocket--that's why they have insurance. And this situation wasn't a financial misunderstanding--it was about transparency and respect. Lastly, when I brought up the 30-minute delay, they said it was because they were "fighting with my insurance to cover the visit." But again, that's something your office should do before the patient arrives, not during their appointment time. And frankly, that's part of the administrative process that every medical office handles--this isn't the first time I've been to a provider, and no one has ever treated it this way. Another thing, the whole time I was waiting, I could hear the staff and no one was on the phone with insurance.... All in all, I left without getting the care I needed, wasted time, money, and energy, and felt incredibly disrespected as a patient. I don't recommend this office.
