This is my second review in a week for a more important reason. I am scheduled for eye surgery in three days and need scripts for three different drops. One script was sent to my local pharmacy but the other two scripts were sent to a CVS in East Hampton. I am in Queens. The office staff is incredibly non professional and entirely inept.

I will remain at Northwell for an optical Rx & hybrid lens fitting - something other doctors doubted would be possible again. A recovery that typically takes a year took me 6 months.. All great news thanks to Dr. Gorski's special care and treatment plan! Dr. Gorski saved my cornea, my eyesight, and thousands of dollars I would've spent on surgery (had I received treatment elsewhere). It is hard to tell medical professionals what you feel is right based on your "gut", but Dr. Gorski listened and answered all million questions I've asked. Likewise, he is not hesitant to get other doctors involved to balance his opinion on treatment, including Dr. Steiner & Dr. Udell who is chair of Northwell's Ophthalmology Dept. SO GRATEFUL for this team!!

The second was disastrous. Part of procedure was done (cataract broken up with laser) then I was wheeled to an area and left alone for at least a half hour with nothing covering eye! It's always a good sign when you call and can get a hold of a live person over the phone. That was the first draw in. When our appointment came up, we were greeted by friendly staff. The store is bright and inviting, but smaller than the last eyeglass supply store (a larger chain) we'd gone to. The selection of eyeglasses are limited to pricier designer frames, but upon inquiring, I was told that they have affordable (read: frames covered by insurance) available upon request, it just hasn't been put up on display yet. Plus, it was nice to see there were some refreshments and a clean bathroom available while we waited. Most importantly, this store was CLEAN-- there ample hand-sani at the ready, plus signs they clean their display frames between customers. Once the initial paperwork was done, the rest of our service was expedient. We were taken to a room for pre-testing, and then soon after met with the doctor. He answered all our questions, and never pressured us into buying lenses/frames. While this is a smaller store, the doctor has another office in NJ where he can check his inventory should there be something specific you want. Hope this location does well, it's good to have options other than large chain optical stores.
