Beehive Bazaar - Vintau vendor display, showcasing rocks and gemstones as well as dreamcatchers.

I absolutely LOVE when the Beehive Bazaar rolls in. About every season, local artists come together…read moreto display their thoughtful, creative, and beautiful goods. This particular market screamed of Christmas with scents of wassail and Christmas Carols in the air. Prices range from low to high, Which is to be expected at a market like this. You are paying for their skills and time, after all. There is even a section with displays from young makers showing off their amazing skills in clay molding, jewelry making, and cookie baking. If you have a chance to go to The Beehive Bazaar, please do! There is something for everyone.

I believe that they do these events twice a year for two weeks on Thursday-Friday. I went on a Thursday evening and it was pretty steadily busy, so I would imagine that it would be packed on a Friday or Saturday. There were around 35-40 booths set up in a large warehouse room, which seemed like just the right amount for meandering around. Each vendor marked their items with their vendor code so you can make all your purchases at once at the end. The vendors had already set up their items and were not present at the event, which made for a low-stress shopping experience. I believe that they rotate through vendors each week so if you would like to see variety, you can go again on a different week and see some totally different items. You could buy anything from vintage clothing to dry shampoo, to embroidery to jewelry. My personal favorite vendor was Vintau, which sold gorgeous rocks and gemstones on stands and dreamcatchers at a super reasonable price. The people running the event stayed near the entrance/exit so they could hand out shopping baskets and check out customers. The lines were short, and they carefully wrapped up fragile items in tissue paper. Overall, it seemed very well planned and executed and was a very enjoyable way to spend an hour.

We were gonna try all of them, but as I smelled more and more scents, it was too much for me. I suggest not trying everything but just smell the ones you're interested in (maybe even like 30-40, but definitely not all). The process for making the candle was actually really simple. It took less than 10 minutes to make it, but at least 7 days for it to set. Also, make sure you can come back within 2 weeks to pick up the candle. Otherwise, it will be donated! The service was definitely 5/5! The staff were so friendly, and one offered to help us take photos at the end! Overall, I had a great experience at Wick Lab. However, it is pretty expensive (~$22 for one candle). Going there once to try it out was good enough for me, and I probably won't go back because of the price. FYI, make sure you make a reservation early if you plan to go there. I passed by the place twice before without a reservation, and unfortunately, it was full both times :( But it really depends on when you go. You can check the availability on their website.

We came here before dinner for our two year wedding anniversary. Overall it was a fun experience to…read morehave with each other. We loved sniffing all the scents and picking our favorites. A few things that could be improved: 1. There is no seating at the front with the exception of a wooden bench and had cobwebs all over it and looked like you'd get a splinter in your booty if you sat. So sorry folks, standing room only until you get some help. The bathroom wasn't super clean and seemed a bit run down compared to the rest of the place. 2. After we picked our scents, we noticed they were out of the cheapest choice (clear candle holders). We asked if they had anymore and they simply said "no sorry" and thus we were basically forced to default to the more expensive option. This was 430pm on a Saturday. It'd be nice if they were better prepared with stock, especially if they take reservations like we had. 3. Your experience building your candle will weigh heavily with your chandler that you receive. Ours happened to be pretty blunt and didn't smile much. The couple next to us seemed to have a bit more fun with their friendly and talkative chandler. BUT we had each other so we just made the best of it! 4. One of the gals working literally ate a sandwich in front of everyone behind the candle making counter. It doesn't seem they have a break room but that kinda of killed the vibe and experience. All that said, they really have something going here, I mean it's a great idea and fun little niche. My husband said when he went to pick up our candles the staff was much more lively and friendly so maybe they were just having an off day, who knows. We would definitely come again and give it another go! I'd like to bring my Aunts next time they visit! As far as the candles, they don't have the best throw. It's definitely not comparable to BBW candles type of throw but I think the fact that it was made by you it's just what makes them fun and special! The cold sniff smells great though!
