Sweet, helpful, Attorney. Unfortunately she is winding her practice down. Yet she was still willing to offer her contacts and advice.

Law Office of Ronald Mahurin - Workers Compensation Appeals Board

    Law Office of Ronald Mahurin

Where do I start? Maybe meeting at the Law Offices of Ronald Mahurin was the first clue. And by…read moreLaw Office I mean Denny's, then as we leave I saw him hop on a very junky bicycle and start peddling. Second conversation with him was about unemployment. I filed for unemployment when I first couldn't work, it was denied because I had said that I couldn't work because of injury. He told me I need to file for disability and appeal the unemployment, end of conversation. My disability claim was put on hold because I had filed an appeal. I didn't receive any benefits for over 2 months, because of the appeal. I continued to get mail from my employers insurance company that needed to be filled out and mailed in. These documents were somewhat complicated and said that if I had an attorney I should have them fill them out. I would ask him if we should meet up discuss or how should we proceed, and I wouldn't here from him. I would get a text that says, "watching playoffs call you later". A week and a half later I just filled them out and sent them in. Something else put my disability payments on hold, because of the doctors paper work and I asked him about it and this time I asked him why he told me to file a appeal. He said, "its there job to deny me anything and make things difficult, I will call EDD tomorrow, you get in touch with a new doctor and I will call you early next week." Me, "ok sounds good" Him, "ok have a good weekend". After two weeks go by and I don't hear from him I get more paper work in the mail saying that both of my claims have been denied. Since I haven't heard from him I wrote him an email asking if he had heard from EDD, asking about the denial letter, I explained that I have proof that contradicts there reasons for denial and how do we handle things from here. His response was "In class in SF. We discuss a road map." Thats it, he gave me no clue to what was to happen next or what was really going on. After that I asked if I could get an updated invoice showing everything that he has worked on to help me to this point. I here nothing... I then said I think I need to find someone who is a little more diligent and aggressive to represent me. He responded right away then trying to kiss my ass like he has been working super hard for me. I then get a text at around midnight, "poop" "pooooooooooop". Not to professional. Then when he sent over the dissmissal letter for me to sign to relieve him it was for somebody else, and there was no obvious place for me to sign. So we went back and for 2 weeks because he put someone else's name in the form where my name should have been. He didn't even know he sent me forms with someone else's name and not mine to dismiss him. He didn't even read my "emails" wondering who this person was. And since I didn't sign the papers he wanted, which were not legally dismissing him since it had someone else's name, he forced me to court to release him. Wasting my time and the judges, she wasn't happy. Basically I used him because he said he wouldn't get payed if I don't get payed, and sounded like he would work hard for me, ha! And little did I know that know lawyers do in workers comp. Do yourself a favor and do some homework before selecting a lawyer and don't choose this bonehead. He cost me a lot of time and effort because he really has no idea what he is doing. I wish they had zero stars.

I had all but given up hope of ever finding an attorney for my Workers' Comp Claim, after…read morerepeatedly being turned down again and again by every attorney I called, that is until I called: Ronald Mahurin, Attorney of Law, and a certified Specialist in Workers' Comp Law, as well as a "true legal warrior" from Point Arena, California. My claim was made further complicated by the fact that since my employers are Native American, they are not subject to most State laws. Ron has worked tirelessly on my case, researching similar case law, and always making sure he kept me in the loop regarding his progress. He has never been impatient if I have too many questions or call too many times. In fact, a family member with a varied legal background recently said to me "you lucked out when you found Ron Mahurin". In light of all his great attributes and expertise in the law, it is with much pleasure and a grateful heart that I highly recommend Ronald Mahurin, Attorney at Law.
