I had an unfortunate experience with an UberEats order from this restaurant. I ordered chicken…read moreparm, broccoli rabe and tiramisu. I made certain to specify that I needed utensils, as I was visiting the area and at a work site where I didn't have access to anything. When my food arrived, however, my requested utensils were nowhere to be found. (The UberEats driver also just left everything outside when I had specified that he call. I realize this part isn't the restaurant's fault, but the delivery app isn't doing them any favors. I did complain on UberEats, but they are useless.) So if we hadn't scrounged and found a spoon and knife--best we could do--I'd have had no way at all to eat my meal. The chicken parm itself was solid, as was the broccoli rabe. Sadly, the tiramisu was partly frozen. I'm assuming they'd taken it out earlier in the day and it hadn't entirely thawed. I had some of it, but once I clocked the freeze, I didn't want to waste my carbs. I'm sure this would have been a better experience if I'd eaten in, as at least I'd have been assured of utensils, and I could have sent back the dessert and perhaps gotten something else. I guess you win some and you lose some.

The amazing white pie is nothing like we have back West, the friendly vibe, fast service and a classic pizza shop everyone should try. RIP SAL and thanks for your tasty legacy!

And this is a place worth checking out. Old-school vibe inside, not at all like the new-wave joints around. You can tell Sal's has been here for generations, which means they do it right. You walk in, there's a pizza counter to the left, a few tables to the right, some more in the back... and a hidden whole other room! So there will be room for you to enjoy your meal. This review is divided for now. My friend got cheese slices. They're big, thin, covered just right in cheese - win. Crust just the right toasty to hold the slice up. Classic NY pizza we got here - everyone in Fairfield County should visit. I peeked over at the other table and they had Sicilian slices that also look legit, if that's your thing. Plenty of cheese, soft crust, all that. Then there's my side. I had looked at the BBQ place next door and decided "nah, too contrived", so when I discovered the neat-looking slices on their platter were BBQ chicken, I went for them. Well, they actually didn't come out that hot. The thickness of the meat probably got in the way. Then there's the fact they were white slices (since BBQ sauce gets in the way of tomato sauce), but not hepped up with ricotta or other white cheese inside. I'd make those suggestions for improvement. There are also some other bizarre slices on offer - they're not afraid of variety! I'd steer clear of the salad pizza though. So based on just the one visit and everything I saw and tasted - 4 stars. I would want to get a whole pie next time for a fresh-baked experience, see how quickly that goes and if it's done just right. I doubt my review will drop, but it could rise up to 5. To be continued... ... So, I came back a second time with my friend. This time, I wasn't even feeling the pizza vibe, so I went with a meatball... wedge. Which is a sub if you're not from the area. Don't be scared by the name. It was tasty, but as I expected, just meatball, cheese, and some sauce. Actually a better balance of sauce to cheese than the pizzas, I thought. I was a little perturbed that our visiting friend's white slice is just pure ricotta, no white sauce below, no mozz on top. From my second experience, I'm keeping it at 4 stars.

I've never gotten delivery or eaten in, but there are a couple of tables if they're available. All the times I've phone ordered for pick-up, my food was always hot & ready when I arrived. There is limited parking shared with the deli next door, but people cycle in & out pretty fast. My regular go-to is the Veal Parmigiana Hero with breaded veal cutlets covered in tomato sauce and melted mozzarella. They toast it in the pizza oven to melt the cheese and sometimes it's a little on the burnt side, but still good. On New Year's Eve, I decided to treat my co-workers to lunch and ordered a Meat Lovers & a Grandma pie. As a devout carnivore, I thought the Meat Lovers with pepperoni, sausage, meatball, ham & bacon would be the favorite, but everybody loved the Grandma. Of course, everybody loves their Grandma. Duh. The rectangular slices with fresh mozzarella, chopped basil and fresh tomatoes were a hit and disappeared fast! Hot Tip: PP also has a reward points program when you order online and you get $10 off your first order!

I am used to run of the mill pizzerias so I was not expecting much from Piazza. My first time there I got two plain slices. The crust was thin and flavorful, not bland at all. The sauce was sweet and well seasoned and the pizza had the perfect amount of cheese. I was very impressed, this place has good pizza. My second time, I got a meatball parm wedge for lunch. I opened the foil and some of the cheese got stuck, but it was no big deal because the sandwich had plenty of cheese. The meatballs weren't as seasoned as I like but were tender and delicious. There was not too much or too little sauce, the perfect amount. I am so accustomed to average pizzerias and when I come across one that is good, it is always a welcomed surprise. Piazza Pizza has good food for a reasonable price, definitely check it out after Playland looking for a bite.
