The people who work here are very nice and the place looks clean. The food is very well prepared and good as well.

I have been entertaining a mad craving for a battered, fried pork chop for the last 3 months - so much so that I created a Nextdoor post about it. One of my neighbors responded and raved about this place so I decided to give it a try. Interior / Exterior They're located in an older strip mall on Powder Springs Rd - private parking lot - right across the street from Dollar Tree as you head towards the square. If you hit Kastaways, you come too far. The interior of the restaurant is sparse, but clean. Customer Service The hit it out of the park on this one! Upon entering the establishment, I was enthusiastically greeted by a cute, tiny little lady - Miss Taneka (Miss Pat's daughter). She took my order and told me a little about their history. Miss Pat always loved cooking for family and friends ... and dreamed of having her own restaurant - and after she retired - they decided to make her dream come true! They've been at their location for 3 years (as of Feb 2022). After my second visit, I felt like we were old friends. Lol. We bonded over our love of Southern food and small fluffy dugs (I'm a 'Pom Mom' and she's a Yorky Lady) and fear of bats (don't ask - see my other reviews). I didn't get to meet Miss Pat (one of the Chefs / cooks AND the restaurant's namesake) until today and let me just say, "The apple did not fall very far from the tree!" Miss Pat was super sweet as well. We had a bit of mishap with the ribs from our previous visit. I wasn't able to reach them before closing Sat, so I messaged them. They close early on Sunday and are closed all day Monday, but they told me to come back in - satisfaction guaranteed! I went back today - Miss Pat and Miss Taneka could not have been more sweet, accommodating and gracious. Kay (Miss Pat's son, also one of the cooks and the Grillmaster) was a little brusque, but most chefs are like that. Lol. Price / Affordability I think the prices are very affordable - especially during the pandemic. If I'd realized that my pork chop meal came with one pork chop, I would have asked whether I could add another on, but I'm greedy when it comes to meat. Lol. Most dinners are $12 - $15, ribs cost more. They also have some $6.99 lunch specials. Food They have chicken, pork chops, BBQ, turkey wings, chitterlings (aka chitlins), oxtails and seafood (catfish, tilapia, whiting, shrimp). They also have a dizzying array of vegetables to choose from. In deference to many people's dietary restrictions , they don't heavily season the vegetables or use pork for flavoring. I love sautéd or 'fried' cabbage (I could eat it every day) and green beans, but they gotta have a little dash of bacon fat or chicken bouillon to jazz 'em up. On my initial visit, I ordered a pork chop meal (1 fried pork chop, french fries, mac & cheese, omitted the bread). I also ordered a slab of ribs. My macaroni & cheese was good, but it was a bit odd in that it was a single layer of mac & cheese. My french fries were dropped before grease was hot enough, so they were oily and limp - but that was fine - I didn't eat them so it saved me additional fat and calories. When I went back, I got pork chops, green beans, rice, gravy and corn muffins. The pork chops were outstanding both times. Seasoned perfectly, crispy coating outside, tender inside! I don't eat rice, gravy or cornbread (unless it's the deep South pancake style), so I'll let you know what J thinks later tonight. Overall I like this spot. There's a lot of variety on the menu and the customer service alone will keep me coming back!

RC had approached her with a flier at a gas station, informing her that his restaurant had just opened up. Anyway, I'm ordering my meal, the same meal I always get each time I go. Fried fish (whiting), collards and the baked beans (unmatched). And he goes, "What would you like to drink?".... I'm like, "What do you have?" (Assuming the usual. Sweet tea. Lemonade... I was probably gonna go with sweet tea. ) He lists sweet tea of course, and then hes like, "Kool-Aid, coke, sprite" - IM LIKE WAIT. DID YOU SAID KOOL-AID?......... He's like, "Yeah??..." Im like, "what flavor???.... "Purple?...." I had never heard of that at a restaurant, and quiet frankly, that's all I needed to know. At this point, I literally go nowhere else for soul food. Also, RC is amazing. Really good guy, and his team offer the best service as well. A job well done, always.

My recommendation would be the baked chicken, cabbage, yams, and sweet potato pie. The ice tea is a must have. Kool aid and coke products are also available. The parking lot is large. So parking won't be a problem. But the inside is small so you will probably want to take the food to go. The menu changes from the week to the weekend with Sunday being soul food day. I will be back to try jerk turkey and meatloaf. Maybe next Sunday.

It came with a cornbread, a buttery biscuit, and banana pudding. I was pleasantly surprised by the other items since the ordering site only listed the entree. Best Shrimp & Grits I've had to date. The shrimp was fresh and not overcooked or rubbery. The grits were smooth. The gravy was well seasoned, but not overly salty or rich. The cornbread and bread or biscuit was good, but not extraordinary. Those were quite dense and heavy paired with the other food. I loved the banana pudding. This meal jumpstarted my banana pudding hyper fixation. Very fragrant and not too thick yet still nice and creamy. It wasn't overly sweet or heavy either. It was a good dessert to round out the meal. I hope to come here again and have an actual sit down experience. Curious to see the ambiance!

I was meeting a coworker for a double date and while I was running late I called and they were cool the whole way. I get there they had some drinks the enjoyed bad the waiter (J if I got that right) was on point with suggestion. I did their friend chicken for personal reasons and it didn't disappoint. I also tried the salmon egg roll and lemon pepper wings and yes the lemon pepper wing brings nations together. I'm from nyc I saw it happen. Anyway after I slapped the table for how good the fried chicken chicken treated me I yelled at the bartender in praise to explain that green tea French 75 was to damn good and I needed a second ones. The whole point of the night was me wanting my coworker to be cool with me outside of work is d this place made me look cool. They sake if I been here before and wanted to go out wherever I'd suggest. To end the glaze the bartender won awards and honestly I will ABSOLUTELY be back. This is just the right level of "I know places" to make me look cool but also make me impressed as a newcomer. It's gem. Loved it!

I'll admit, it's hard for me to fully enjoy soul food when dining out since I'm used to cooking it to my own taste at home. That said, the service was excellent--our waiter was very hospitable and attentive throughout the meal. The restaurant itself had a quaint, cozy atmosphere, and I appreciated the option for outdoor seating.

So we stopped in to the cafe to get something to eat. The establishment was clean and they had a nice variety of food to choose from. The staff wasn't...unfriendly...I'll say they were focused. This day my mom ordered smothered turkey wings with rice and gravy and about 4 or 5 sides . I ordered the fried chicken with black eyed peas, green beans, and yams. The food was DELICIOUS!! The reason if ace them three stars was because I went back the next day to grab a few plates for me and my family that I was going to bring back home from Atlanta. Before I left my mom's house unused Uber Eats to place my order and I would pick it up and then hit the highway home. I ordered my food around 1:35pm and got the notification it would be ready by 1:53. Cool! I'd have time to get there without rushing as the ride would take about 25 minutes. Well I get there around 2:05 and had to wait a few minutes before I was served as there were people in line before me. Well long story short...I didn't leave the restaurant until around 2:45 as they hadn't even started on my order when I arrived! Ten people came in after me and left before I did...!! Which of course put me way behind schedule on getting back home. And on top of all that...three things were replaces on my order...I was sitting there the WHOLE time!! They could have asked me about replacements. And I say that because I have a gluten allergy and they gave me macaroni & cheese!! No cornbread that should have been free. I thought they would have at least offered me a dessert for making me wait so long but...they didn't. So even though our food was delicious...the service I received on day two definitely needed some work!!!! The food is definitely down home southern comfort food and the menu has a variety of options. I will be back but I sincerely hope that I receive better service next time.

No picture sorry…read more I'll get to the point. Not from GA, but while here decided tk try what was local. PROS - food well seasoned. I ordered Black Eyed Peas, baked chicken, yams, and peach cobbler. 3 stars - Weird vibe, I get the seating outside but no restroom available for customers - had to eat this food in the rental car. Then go to local Publix to wash my hands from the food. Not pleased. CONS - peach cobbler albeit good the portion size for 8.00 was a tall ask. I get the profit margin here however I think if you want returned customers I think allowing paying customers to use the restroom would be ideal. Noon time I'd think the service bar area the take rations from should always be cleaned and presentable for selection. It wasn't. Almost left but had a drive ahead of me so this was about taste vs demand.
