Mr Barnum's machine shop is a trip back in time when men did it for themselves, appreciated the trades and were not afraid to get their hands dirty. In contrast with the reality of a corporate brave new world, where huge computerized machine shop businesses wont even look at you unless you are talking several thousand pieces, Mr. Barnum stands on his own. Without a doubt, the most unprofessional manager i have ever encountered. The manager Melissa(part…read moreowner), firstly failed to return my call regarding drive shaft repair/replacement quote. So i called again, was able to make an appointment for the following Monday at 8 am, because thats the only way the quote was possible. Come Monday i am a total of 10 min late, due to traffic coming from one hour away, and when i arrive, the secretary has no idea that there is even an appointment that morning. She tells me the manager just left 5 min before i arrived, and that because i was late, i will have to wait another hour for her to come back because apparently no one else works there that can look at my truck and give me a quote. The only reason i went... A quote, apparently, is not enough incentive to wait for a customer, or at the least, have another person on standby. I was told by the secretary that the manager had some allergies or something, and that i was late, she was justified in leaving her shop. Being the only manager, and i guess the only worker 45 min after opening on a Monday morning. Is that professional in anyway? I still cant believe how incompetent and inconsiderate these people were of a potential customer. They knew i drove an hour to get there. Unreal. Most unprofessional experience of any mechanic shop ive ever been to. Dont waste your time.
