I want to thank Clare and Dr. Swanson for their selfless act to scheduling me last minute and treating me. They showed concern and great care while my visit. If it weren't for them, I'd be at the ER. They followed up the next morning to check how I was doing. If I didn't live 80 miles away, I would still be coming to this office for their services. They truly care about their patients and listen closely to your concerns.

Then I received a sizable bill for the balance of a simple checkup and cleaning and I come to find out they are "out of network". This was an omission at best and shady business practices at worst. I would have changed dentists had I known. PS-When I brought this up to them this is a text response I received from their office: "Justin, you are a responsible adult. You can do the responsible thing and pay your balance or let the account default. I have cancelled your next appointment and inactivated your account. You will receive a statement in the mail. each month until paid. I really recommend Piper Dentistry, especially if you're autistic or have sensory issues. I've had…read moredentists in the past who made their recommendations feel like criticism--like I wasn't doing enough or didn't care. And most never considered how sensory overload actually affects the ability to get through an appointment. This place is completely different. They checked in with me throughout the visit--before using any tools, they asked about vibration and sound sensitivity, and actually listened when I explained what does and doesn't work for me. They explained everything they were doing without sounding condescending or acting like they had to dumb it down. Just normal, respectful communication. Even things like flossing were approached with zero judgment. They offered practical alternatives and acknowledged that some routines are harder to maintain depending on executive function, physical access, or sensory tolerance. I didn't have to mask or over-explain myself just to be treated like a person. If you've avoided going to the dentist because past experiences were shaming, overwhelming, or just not neurodivergent-friendly, Piper is the first place I've been where I didn't leave feeling worse. They treat your comfort and agency as part of the care, not an inconvenience.

Their front office staff is through and will do all insurance legwork for you. I'm not afraid of the dentist, never have been. I actually enjoy getting my teeth cleaned and even getting a little work done, it goes a long way for overall health. I would never recommend anyone to come here based on my experience with Dr. Seelye. I had some fillings done I think sometime in July or august 2019, and he overfilled them and they were excruciating when the numbing medication wore off, something I've never experience before. I had all of the fillings done on the left side of my mouth. I go in a couple days later complaining about how bad it hurts and that I couldn't bite on that side at all. The Dr comes out and makes me feel like I'm ruining HIS day just for needing this adjusted. He gets his work done filing them down then asks if I still feel pain, I said yes, a lot. His answer was "well my fillings are clearing your bite so the problem is not my fillings". Which, mind you, I did not have ANY issues whatsoever before getting them filled. So yeah, they are the problem. That was the last time I have/will visit this office. My mouth hurt very bad for about 3 more weeks after the second visit, and I couldn't really bite hard things (think trail mix) on the left side of my mouth for over 9 months afterwords, and even now it still feels a little... off. If you want a medical professional that actually CARES about the patient, find another dentist.
