He is awesome, as are his hygienists. I appreciate Dr. Wilgus working with me to save my teeth, rather than rushing me towards implants. Very highly recommend!!!

If you find yourself in my situation , chose your dentist wisely, I luckily chose Jeremy Wilgus. I arrived on time and was immediately attended to by a bevy of smiling faces, all so friendly and comforting. Brenda H. Set up the I V for the sedative, yeah, I choose to sleep through the procedure. Brenda definitely had done this before, the I V was painless. As we waited for the Dentist, Brenda showed me some of the supplies that would be used and explained the procedure. This was done in a very relaxed and calm manner, which helped soothe my nerves. Doctor Wilgus arrived and calmly explained what I should expect and how to care for my mouth afterwards. After the sedative was administered we talked for about a minute and I was out. My next recollection was waking after the procedure. Other then feeling a bit groggy, I experienced no pain. In the week following the procedure, today, I've experienced very little discomfort, I was really pleasantly surprised, the procedure I dreaded was over and it wasn't bad at all. Actually, other than eating soft food, it was no big deal. This is the place to go for a case such as mine, you will be pleasantly surprised!

I have been referred to SVP three times from my regular dentist and am always impressed by their…read moreprofessionalism, courtesy and expert work. While periodontic work is never painless, they do what they can to make it as comfortable, quick and stress-free as possible. The office staff are always honest and helpful. While I have had them forget things occasionally, like sending in a prescription, they're quick to own up to their mistake and correct it. I do have two minor complaints about this office though, which aren't deal killers. One is that they do not process all of your benefits for you. I have AFLAC Dental for supplemental coverage, and their office will not file those claims. They instead insist that I submit these myself. What makes this awkward is that AFLAC will often pay THEM instead of me, so I have to drive back in to get reimbursed. This has happened twice now, and it's inconvenient and a little annoying. Two is just a personal thing. Their office decor is weird, discomforting and a little bizarre. Huge cast figures in gold of human bodies on the wall. Black velour furniture. And dozens of blank white shelves filled with what looks like small round plastic fake plants. It's like being surrounded by an army of chia pets. It's not a warm, relaxing atmosphere, but it's a minor thing that doesn't reflect on their work at all. I'm sure there's a professional decorator in Simi who could fix this in a day or two. Other than that, they are a perfect 10...

I have a life-long terror of dentists. So, when I say that Dr. Natasha Yashar's office is a refuge…read morefor the anxious and a sanctuary for the dental-phobic, that means a lot. Everything here is on point. The waiting room is drenched in warm lighting and filled with comfortable seating and tasteful décor. Nothing feels clinical, so it's easy to relax. The front desk staff greet patients warmly--they're all beyond lovely! In fact, the entire team is amazing. From the hygienist who somehow made the cleaning (dare I say) fun, to the technician who took my x-rays with care and consideration, everyone here seems to operate with the same blend of professionalism and compassion. As someone who's avoided dentists for years due to severe anxiety, I went to my first appointment with dread. Prior experiences left me freaked out because I was really worried about pain, the procedures weren't explained, and my questions were ignored. The periodontist I saw before Dr. Yashar was overtly rude and acted annoyed by anything I asked, so I just never went back. Dr. Yashar's approach couldn't be more different. She has that rare combination of technical excellence and exceptional bedside manner. During our consultation, she walked me through my situation with remarkable clarity. Most importantly, she just made me feel relaxed! I think that what truly sets this practice apart is how the whole team has transformed something I feared into something I can manage without a full-blown panic attack. The extensive procedure I need, one I'd postponed for years out of terror, will finally get done. If you're like me and you've spent years avoiding necessary dental care due to anxiety, if you've felt dismissed or have been rushed through previous appointments, or if you just want a really stellar periodontist, Dr. Yashar is beyond amazing!

I have been going to Thousand Oaks Dental for many years and have always gotten wonderful care (…read moreDeanne the hygienist is phenomenal!). Not too long ago Dr. Luthra joined the practice when Dr. Jan Beierle retired. Today I had to have a filling replaced and I am so happy with Dr. Luthra. I was really nervous going in because I hate getting Novacaine and usually find that for whatever reason I stay numbed for a crazy long time after getting a filling. Dr. Luthra was great. He not only put up with my nervous bullshit but numbed the tooth directly and here I am an hour later feeling perfectly normal with no residual numbing. Really nice guy and obviously quite skilled. Definitely recommend.

When I learned that the Drs. Beierle were retiring, I wondered how things might change. It has been my happy experience to see that the practice continues to grow in heart and care - the physical space and each person who works there have created such an inviting atmosphere that I believe it only attracts professionals who the same desire for excellent, compassionate care. Over the last three years, I made a decision with counseling and support from this office to try to correct bite deficiencies with braces so that I can repair and preserve my teeth and smile unashamedly again. It was a tough enough decision on its own, but made tougher by its beginning just about a month before the whole country closed down due to the Covid pandemic. Over this time, I have had numerous calls from the office saying, Dr. Vik or Dr. Joe would like to see me to check on my progress. There has never been a charge for those calls and visits, and recently Dr. Vik arranged his schedule so that he could attend my orthodontic appointment at a different practice so that he could ask questions, offer his observations and to help him prepare for the work I want him to do after my braces are removed. This is extraordinary care! I told my long-serving Dental Hygienist, Deanne recently how much I appreciate that she and the doctors are always observing, always encouraging, and always advocating for their patients. It makes such a difference. Deanne has become a good and trusted friend. At the risk of sounding crazy, I LOVE going to (this) dental office!! I absolutely love this practice and the people who serve us there! I recommend this practice without any reservation!
