Dr. Wu is an excellent dentist found right in the heart of Malden Sq. She has done extensive repairs on my teeth and I'm very grateful to have found her. She is very caring and sensitive to the needs of her patients. She will not let you sit through any pain and does everything she can to make you comfortable. Had a very good experience here the other day! While I had to wait a little longer than planned (which could have been a problem if my office wasn't so chill), the appointment itself was as pleasant as a dentist appointment can be. The X-Rays were a little uncomfortable and I think there may have been a little miscommunication at first between the hygienist and myself (she had a strong accent). However she was sweet and sympathetic to the general discomforts of dentistry. Front desk staff were also nice and friendly. Dr. Wu was competent and nice. She complimented my shoes which is always a good way to get in my good graces. She took the time to point out where I would need fillings (I have had several pre-cavities lurking for years that have finally decided to commit to being full-blown nastiness) and also talked about getting a nightguard for my teeth grinding habit and TMJ (yeah I'm a dentist's dream for follow-up appointments). She was good about looking up insurance details for me too and making sure I understood coverage options - something I always appreciate in doctors of any kind! I would have to go back to get my cavities filled, but I wouldn't necessarily have to go here. However, not only are they right next to my office building and take MetLife, Dr. Wu is a great dentist I feel confident having wield sharp instruments in my mouth! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Wu's for more than 10 years and have been seeing her when I was a kid. Dr. Wu and her staff is amazing, they truly care for your needs and not for their production or collection. Dr. Wu seems very passionate about her field and is up to par with modern technology. I remember she had a lot of new toys (dental equipment) to play with as I was growing older and seeing her periodically. Practically it makes me feel like I grew with her office from seeing equipment upgrade. She's really gentle, professional, and makes sure you're ok during the procedure and takes her time in doing her work. Diana, the front desk is very friendly and makes you feel like you're at home. She's very helpful and makes sure that services being rendered are covered and will go over pricing before you start the procedure and getting what's best out of your insurance maximum. Everyone here is friendly and outgoing and makes you feel like a friend/family member and not like a patient or a factory business type of dentistry like other dental office's out there. The office is very modern and has his nice feel to it with great music choice. I've moved out of Malden and live in the West Coast now, but if I moved back to Malden, I'll definitely be seeing Dr. Wu and her staff again! I would definitely refer my family and friends to her. I've had several different dentists throughout my lifetime in the Greater Boston Area and I have to say that Dr. Wu's team is by far the best. I used to go to Malden Dental in the building next door (literally), but the experience was bad and unprofessional that it forced me to find an alternative. And am I glad I did. My experience here in the previous two visits: The wait is usually very minimal, if any. It's very refreshing considering there was always, and I repeat ALWAYS, a moderate-long wait at my previous dentists. The front desk staff is friendly and welcoming. The hygienists are very professional and thorough in their work. They also provide excellent feedback on dental care as they should. There are plenty of appointment reminders via postcard, email, and text to ensure that one remembers his/her appointment. Dr. Wu is an amazing dentist. Her and her entire team is kind and understanding and they'll talk to you like a person not just a number in line. I hadn't been to the dentist since I was a small child and I started going during college because I realized my cavities were getting worse and I have some SEVERE dental anxiety. But, the idea of having a root canal done scared me more. Over the next several years Dr. Wu fixed my teeth and was able to fix each cavity (About 9-10 of them!) with no need for a root canal! My cleanings are done easily usually by one of her assistants and they each take great care! I almost feel bad when I have to eat afterwards because of how clean my teeth feel. X-rays are tricky for me since I have a pretty small mouth but they're careful with me which negates any discomfort I'm feeling. Dr. Wu also is bilingual which is a huge benefit I believe! read more

This dental office takes a meticulous (perfectionist) approach in everything they do. In between patients, they wipe down (antibacterial) everything (chairs, equipment, etc.). I can't say enough good things about this office. I have a lot of TMJ problems so going to the dentist is usually an extremely stressful experience for me. Every single staff member at Dr. Wu's office was understanding, compassionate, and really listened to me when I explained the difficulty I had keeping my mouth open for that long. The dental hygienist Vy took frequent breaks as she cleaned my teeth, which kept the whole ordeal basically pain free, and also took great care around my sensitive teeth. They also measured my gums, explained how my brushing style was damaging them, how to do it more effectively, etc. Dr. Wu then recommended a periodontist, printed out a referral with my x-rays and description of the problem, etc. It was just so thorough and carefully thought out, I've never had an experience like this at any doctor's office. Dr. Wu recommended I have a filling repaired, which I returned to have done a month later with Dr. Yamamoto, who was also very kind and considerate as I explained my TMJ issues. I also explained that at my previous dentist's office, they had been careless with the Novocaine, did not wait for me to become numb and gave me far more shots than I needed, and ended up causing a jaw spasm for several hours after worth. I barely even felt the needle with Dr. Yamamoto, and she waited several minutes until I was quite numb to begin, and gave me frequent breaks to relax my jaw as she removed the old filling. I really just can't express enough how grateful I was for their compassion all around; TMJ disorder makes it very difficult to hold my mouth open for that long and they were the only dentists who have ever taken measures to make that easier on me. And on top of that, they were all absolutely excellent dentists. My teeth have never looked and felt better, and I'm no longer afraid and putting off the dentist the way I used to. Worst billing experience ever. At my old dentist, they would give me the estimate cost of a procedure and an invoice after of my procedure. This place surprises you after you have a procedure done. It was the end of the day on Saturday and I understand that people want to go home after a long day, but at least look at my insurance instead of just telling me that the insurance company in general doesn't cover the cost of the procedure. At least give me a paper invoice in detail of what I'm being billed for. I called later on telling them that I had called my insurance and that it covered the procedure 80% and there was absolutely no claim put in because of what the lady had told me. All of a sudden a claim was put in and I was overcharged by over $100. They won't give me a refund right away. TALK ABOUT SKETCHY. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Let me just update my review from today's visit since my last review was like yay dentist. Today's appointment was rescheduled from a month ago (due to work and my inflexible schedule). I had called earlier in the week to see if it was possible to make an appointment for today, given I had work in the evening. They said that they were booked, but they would put me on the cancel/wait list had time opened up for me. I was at the movies on Thursday and received a call around 7:30pm (I did not take this call) and got a message saying they had an opening Saturday at 8am. And they know how much I looooooove 8am dentist appointments. So the movie got out around 9:30am and they told me to call back and confirm that I wanted the appointment. I was expecting a few rings and anticipating just leaving a message. But Dr. Wu herself picked up the phone and I confirmed the appointment with her. 9:30pm on a Thursday, my dentist picked up the phone. Blown away impressed. Today, was my typical clean. It was a new dentist (and I'm sorry I still don't know your name even though I've heard it twice), but you were great and thank you for dealing with my teeth and breaking the good news that I have no cavities. As a person whom is extremely fearful of needles and pain, I must say that Dr. Wu was very gentle in performing two fillings on me today! I needed work done on a hard to reach area (upper left hand area towards the back of my mouth).
