Their sales staff was OK but Tim the so called manager lied to me in order to make a sale. Do NOT sign anything unless you read every details of the agreement if you plan to purchase anythig. They have no computers, no electronic files whatsoever. Everything is hand-written and the business is conducted in the bygone era way. They also have quite a few complains filed in the BBB. We will certainly be skipping this store going forward -- once decent, now a model of ignor-u-ance, after stopping in one fall day. I debated a bit between going with 3 stars or 2: there are some product and inventory areas they do more with (hearth, fire places + accessories, and stoves from what I can tell), and with those, selection can be good, but not to top the S e v e r a l nice, competing shops; whether Bucks or in Mercer Counties, respectively. Buyer beware! I don't know what is more disappointing, the fact that I didn't read the reviews on YELP before I made a Patio World purchase or the fact that I was mislead by their sales person, Tim, "service manager" Marilyn, and the owner Perry. Shortly after July 4th we went to Patio World to look at lawn furniture. We brought a sample of our current furniture with us. Tim helped us decide on replacing the fabric rather then replacing the furniture. We were promised delivery in 4 weeks. After countess calls to the service manager and two visits to the store, where imminent delivery was promised, we finally called the owner Perry. Over the last 8 weeks, we have called dozens of times simply looking for an update. We have been promised over and over that the fabric is on its way. Tim, Joanne, Marilyn and Perry have all expertly 'passed the buck' and have made empty promises. Now the summer is over! Our patience has run out. It has been 3 months of waiting for our fabric order to arrive. We requested a refund. Imagine our surprise when Perry, the owner said, that orders can take as many as 18 weeks and refused our refund! In lieu of the refund, he offered us a discount on installation of the fabric we ordered. He simply tried to sell us an incremental service we clearly did not need or ask for at the time of purchase. It is almost October. The leaves are falling. We have already put our patio furniture in to storage. By my calculation, the fabric will arrive in time for Thanksgiving. Really? read more

So here's the deal about Patio World.... They have great, beautiful pieces and they are on the expensive side. I do believe in quality over quantity and will spend extra for things to last longer than temporary items or mediocre goods. I rate this location with a one star due to the horrific customer service. The representatives tend to over promise and under deliver. We had ordered a few items from the store and were told the item would be in within 2 weeks. Several weeks had gone by and we did not receive any status on our goods. I had contacted the store time after time and was promised someone would get back to me within 48 hours. As days passed, I had my husband call and handle the situation so that I didn't over react and become a little aggressive. They then reassured him he would be receiving a call with an update first thing on Monday. NOT shocked, five days passed and he didn't receive a call. It was then when I handled the situation. By no means should a customer be abandoned with unanswered questions, especially for 5 weeks. All it takes is ONE phone call. If you say you are going to do something, then actually follow through with it. Actions speak louder than words but obviously not at this location. read more

The quality of the merchandise at Patio World is of the highest caliber. We got a small table and two chairs that are perfect for our balcony. We also got a coffee table and love seat with some great all weather cushions. Planning to get many years of enjoyment out of those two sets--they're built to last. Our experience at the store matched the quality of the products. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly; they were eager to help and answered all of our questions. I can't believe this store is still in business after what I've been through. DO NOT SHOP HERE !!! I ordered cushions in March and its mid-July and I haven't received them! Not only that...everytime I called it was a different story....the supplier, then a story that they didn't place my order until they had more orders for the same manufacturer.... today I spoke to the owner and he said it was because of his previous employees who are now gone. (he said they weren't following up ...meanwhile I spoke to him in June and HE DIDN"T FOLLOW UP EITHER!!!!) Now that its been 18 WEEKS that I've waited and he said that I should just call my credit card and dispute the charge and he won't dispute my dispute and I'll get my money back . After waiting all this time now I'm starting over. I like how Kirsten W wants to give them negative stars and according to another reviewer: not surprisingly the owner has been charged with theft !!!!! They have some very nice products here however the prices are very expensive. Be prepared to pay top dollar. The prices are negotiable too we learned. Sales staff is very pushy, which I can't stand for expensive items. Apparently the store is also part of a chain or franchise but individually owned. They have the same selection as the store near Moorestown and will "match or beat" the price, and vice versa. So use this to your advantage when you shop. read more

Patio World is the WORST customer service I've experienced in a long time. We ordered on April 15th with a promise that we would have our $5k patio furniture by Memorial Day. Seemed too good to be true, but we were told it was early in the season so there was plenty of inventory, etc. Nothing at Memorial Day, Nada on 4th of July, and STILL nothing on Labor Day. It finally arrived on October 7th. We tried to cancel based on all their promises including the one where they SAY it COULD take up to 18 weeks but that never happens. They never called up, we always had to initiate the contact, we worked with Amex to try to get some satisfaction but because I had STUPIDLY signed the contract (8-18 week delivery time which they did not meet) and the credit card slip (which contains a message on the back that says no returns or cancellations), we were unable to end this charade. The customer service at Patio World is rude, the saleswoman promised us anything. Do not use them. My wife called to see if we could get a glass table top replaced. She was told yes, come in and we'll have it ready the next day. So needing a pickup truck, I rented one from Lowes. I drove back home, picked up the table frame and drove to Patio World Lawrenceville, NJ. When I arrived the sales person told me that he didn't have a replacement and could not supply one. Bought a patio set that I was told was in stock and told it would be delivered next week. After two weeks I called and found they sold the item to three folks so had to order mine. Each week was promised next week, until finally I asked to cancel the order (which their contract says I can do if they fail to deliver an in stock item by the promised date). But they won't honor their own contract! Refuse to issue a refund. Owner claims everything three people on his staff have told me are lies and they've always had the goods and I just refuse delivery. I will never go there again except to get a refund! I ordered a $600 deck chair in January and was told it would be here in 2 weeks. After a month I called and was told they need to check with the owner to see when it can come and then no follow up. Its now nearing the end of May and I have called several times and get the same routine. No one from there called to give me updates. I can get the same chair on line and have it in 3 days, I ordered from the because I like to support local business. Over the years I have purchased deck furniture and fireplace accessories from them and have always found poor service, unfriendly and unhelpful staff. But this last incident takes that cake. I purchased a set of patio furniture from patio world several weeks ago, and was told by the sales woman that it would take 2-3 weeks because it was in inventory. Now it is four weeks later, and we are being told it won't be in for another 3-4 weeks. They will not refund our money....or let us pick something else out. they could care less....they keep saying that I signed a contract, and go ahead and sue them. I was pretty disappointed by how I was treated. My girlfriend and I went to the store looking for a outdoor fire pit. I walked around the store and wasn't surprised the fire pits were very expensive but nice looking. That wasn't what I was looking for. A older woman approached us and I told her I was looking for a inexpensive fire pit and was told that she had a one for $299. I then told her I was looking for something less expensive. She then proceeded to tell us that if you spend anything less than that then you will be purchasing a low quality product and will blow over and potentially harm someone because they aren't heavy enough. She then said that she would rather see me not buy a fire pit and build a camp fire. She then repeated that the Walmart type stands will blow over and start a fire and I should just have a camp fire if I'm not going to spend at least $300. I was ready to leave at that point since they obviously didn't have what we were looking for. She continued talking and as we tried to get out of the store. I felt very uncomfortable and made it clear that I was not looking to spend that kind of money. As we tried to exit she kept on telling us to look at this model and look at this one. I made it clear that we were leaving by turning from her and ignoring her. I guess she didn't get the hint. So I have to wonder how a fire pit falls over in the wind. The cheapest one at Walmart or Home Depot is around $50 and weighs 30-40 lbs. How does that blow over? Also who the hell has a fire in 20+ mph winds. This woman is delusional. All she had to say was that they only carried higher end products and I would be fine with it. I tried to search online to find one cause of someone being injured from a fire pit falling over and couldn't find one. read more

We ordered patio furniture on Oct. 19th of 2013, and am now just getting it May 12th 2014! They charged our credit card for the full amount, and therefore tied up our money for almost 7 months. When we first ordered, our salesman said that at the most it would be 18 weeks, but more likely 2-4 weeks. It has now been 29 weeks. The customer service is horrible; I couldn't get our salesperson to call us back, and had to call the NJ headquarters to get any answers. it is quite apparent that Patio World uses your deposit to fund other orders - and then only delivers months late after endless excuses and numerous phone calls. I have never heard so many excuses as to why the furniture is delayed. Having contacted the manufacturer and was told that the item had been available for months but Patio World had not paid, it became apparent that this is a store on the verge of bankruptcy. there are many other stores to choose from - don't put your money at risk. Unless you are willing to 1. pay full price upfront, 2. not receive your money back when the goods are not delivered after all, 3. get a lawyer to sue the company My story is as repetitive as it can be, when looking at the other customer complaints. I ordered a 'custom made' umbrella on May 9th, 2015. I paid in full ($1822.21) with my credit card which was charged a few days later. Unfortunately I missed the hand written note in my contract that stated that it could take up to 18 weeks (September!) to get the umbrella produced in California and shipped to New Jersey. Graciously Patio World provided me with a smaller loaner umbrella over the summer to get me off their back. Multiple inquiries over the summer were in vain, at one time someone admitted that my order was not even placed since they did not have enough orders for goods from California to make the shipment worthwhile! When by October 2nd, now 21(!) weeks later I had not received the custom made umbrella, the store owner, who only went by his first name, told me that they will never "provide the goods" to me. He advised me to write a letter stating just that to my credit card company and request a refund of my $1822.21. In October my credit card company advised me that they had contacted Patio World, but that the company refuses now to work with them. Finally I had to get a lawyer involved, requesting the refund of my money and advising Patio World that a suit including a claim of consumer fraud would be filed. We ordered patio furniture for a house being built. The saleswoman knew this and told us we could order the furniture after paying 50% for the special order. We were fine with that and were told the furniture could take 10-12 weeks putting us about the time the house would be ready. About a month ago (June) we got a call asking if they could deliver the furniture. We reminded them of the timeline and yet we got another call yesterday (July) asking if they could deliver! Ugh! When they again were reminded of the Sept deadline, they are now asking for the balance due. The contract clearly states upon delivery balance due. We have NOT taken delivery ( can't help it if they ordered and it came in sooner than they expected). Very rude on phone and poor communication skills clearly. read more

I had been to this place few years ago to look for the Fireplace door and i was shocked the way I was treated. I was with my 2 year old kid and wife and when was checking the place the sales guy or the owner came upto me and said "This place is not for you guys!" I am a asian indain and i could see that it was a racist statement this guy made, but as i was with the child i did not want any complications and quietly walked out and the item somewhere else. when i think about it now, i feel that i should have sued this place for profiling.
