I found these folks after an exhausting internet and personal search. I will say hands down this is the best run facility in SLC. Unlike other support groups that you sit around in a circle and hash out your war stories for 3 hours ( which is helpful to no one) this facility treats the whole person. with on-site doctors, behavioral specialists, psychologists, and an easy flexible schedule for folks who have to work and have a family. Other places are so regimented it's almost impossible to have a full-time job and get help.. not here.. The staff is so caring and the owner is one of a kind gem, Michelle really cares about us all... I have never felt more supported and loved :) thank you Pathways!!!! read more

Called these people in hopes of their assistance with a precious friend with urgent emotional needs. She (my friend) met with them only to be pressured to join their program and going so far as to convey she would never get better if she refused to join. Now, I know some programs are great in helping someone in need, however, everyone is different!! What works for one person may not work for another. My friend was very willing to work with a therapist with Pathways (that willingness is 1/2 the battle and should be seized upon!) but on her own terms...not in a program that was so extensive that she'd have to miss work. They did not seem to like that. I find that odd to say the least. My friend had lots of questions that were met with lots of words but none of which answered those questions. Vague answers are NOT a good sign of a counseling center you could trust. Transparency is crucial! Another concern...no follow-up. Promises of calling my friend were unmet. When she called them they said they had called and left a voicemail. She checked and saw no indication of a call from them. Despite this my friend tried again speaking with a representative at Pathways but again no help. I don't know if places such as Pathways Real Life Recovery are regulated. If they're not they certainly should be! Read past employee reviews on Indeed...kinda scary. As far as I'm concerned, they failed my dear friend. Glad they may have helped others but if I were you I'd investigate this place thoroughly before getting involved with them. read more

i know mental health crises are difficult and scary, and this place seems promising, but please please go somewhere else. ive had professional mental health care my whole life and this place is a giant red flag. i went to the free consultation for/with my boyfriend. there's something shady going on here. we both had a really bad feeling about it the whole time. it was incredibly unprofessional, the relationships they were already trying to form breached any sort of normal dr/patient relationship. they seem to prey on desperate people. they promised my boyfriend that residential treatment would be entirely free, and they would gift him a grant and his insurance would cover it all even though it was normally over 24,000 dollars to try and get him to make an immediate decision to be admitted. there's no way it really would have been free. they also claimed he would absolutely feel better in 30-45 days... you can't put a time on recovery. it's irresponsible to do so. they seem to have good intentions, but they dont seem qualified in any way to treat any of the issues that they boast to be experienced in on their website. as soon as we got there they told my boyfriend his professional diagnosis from huntsman mental health center should be entirely disregarded and forgotten because they would give him a "real"diagnosis there, and told him everyone has symptoms of every disorder and implied he didnt really have the mental disorder he was seeking treatment for, and he just needed to love himself and his symptoms would go away. i get what they were trying to say but they should have known, if they were truly qualified, that it was an awful thing to say to anyone with a personality disorder. they also never asked him if he was comfortable with me (his boyfriend) being there, or asked if he wanted to talk to them alone at all. i was automatically involved in his treatment and they seemed to take what i was saying more seriously, and believed me more than him on issues regarding his own mental well being. what if i was abusive? there was no safeguards whatsoever. they boasted that their treatment centers had no rules, and he would be allowed to have intimate relationships with other residents, which is just asking for unhealthy and dangerous situations, especially in a population that is so prone to manipulation. they mentioned other residents by name, and talked about other patients issues with us. i don't believe they would have been capable of keeping him safe or been able to help him recover in a real way. him or anyone at that. please keep looking elsewhere. read more

Pathways has been a life saver for me. I was at my lowest low when I started there. And now I am feeling better than I have in years. Great staff and clients. Gave them 4 instead of 5 stars because at the time I was there, there was a lot of staff turnover and a period of drama among some clients that probably could have been handled better. But their program is amazing. I highly recommend pathways if you are struggling emotionally or dealing with addiction. read more

I have been to a lot of treatment centers (unfortunately), but this one by far has been the best one. All of the staff are caring and want to help you succeed. Their approach is way different with recovery. Not only that, but they help the whole family. I highly recommend this place. read more

When you're told it'll take 24-36 hours to get results back from an assessment that's what you'd expect, right!! NO!!! From the time we arrived on 10-2-14 my husband was made to feel as if it's bad that he takes medication due to his medical conditions. (We should have left while talking with Susie filling out paperwork) We get in Michelle's office to do the assessment as we start talking she stops to do something on her phone for a few minutes. Yeah, real professional!!! (Should have left again) The whole thing takes 20 minutes and she's tells us we'll receive an email and to fill it out and send it back and then she'll send the results to our email 24-36 hours. So we did, with in 15 minutes. We wait for 24 hours...nothing. So we give it till Monday and still nothing. I call and ask, Susie says she had some family emergency so I said alright and gave it a couple more days. I called back on Thursday, a week after, can't remember the excuse I was given. That Friday night I left a message stating it's been over a week (way past 24-36 hours) and I expect it in our email first thing Monday. Monday....no email. I call again Susie says it'll be there first thing in the morning. It wasn't!!! I call Tuesday Susie is out of the office and nobody else knows what's going but said they would call Michelle and call me back. I had to call them 3 hours later. The person who answered said she put a note in Michelle's hand that said to call me. SHE NEVER EVEN CALLED!!!! Thursday I speak to Michelle and she said her email hasn't been working....ok why haven't I got this excuse. She says it'll be there today...IT'S BEEN 2 WEEKS!!! She said I shouldn't have been told 24-36 hours that it takes her 5-7 days!! IT'S BEEN 14!!!Let's hope it is or we're getting $200 back!!! Yeah, $10 a minute and nothing for 2WEEKS!!! My whole point is everyone said different things Susie said Michelle was finishing up with a client and then Michelle says sorry excuse my attire (she had a workout outfit on) they just called and said get in here I was exercising!!! Nobody could or really has given me a honest answer only run-a-round!! When you pay for a service you expect to get what you pay for. Very unprofessional!!! read more

As a therapist I have sent a number of clients to Pathways they have one of the best programs in Utah. They have a lot of flexibility with insurance which is a huge blessing. read more
