Certainly, there is no shortage of dining options in a fairly concentrated area heading up and down N Whittaker St. But the place you really need to visit is a bit north from there on W Buffalo St. Villa Nova is an unpretentious establishment that makes you feel at home. Don't go if you are in a rush, as you will want to hang around and soak in the environment. Also, the food is made with care, not with haste. You have to try the simple-ingredient derived marinara sauce topped with a large dollop of goat cheese and served with toasted crusty baguette slices. You can also partake of this marinara ambrosia on a pizza. The crust is probably the best I have had. And I have had them all. We had sausage on one of our pizzas, and it is deliciously kissed with fennel seed, and they are not stingy on the portions. We also had margherita pizza which was divine. Even the Caesar salads my wife and I had were tossed with the exact right amount of dressing. So, make your way here a little off the 'touristy' path. If you are really lucky, you will have Emma as your server. She was attentive, informative, and extremely pleasant. She recommended many of the dishes we ended up ordering and they all exceeded expectations. She made our entire experience delightful!
