We tried to order samosas and sweets for a Diwali party but were told we couldn't order that far in advance (on a Wednesday for a Monday party). Said to call a couple days before and they'd see what they could do. Disappointing. It was also my first visit to the store. A little overwhelming. Not really catering to a broad audience. Patel Brothers is a great, well-stocked ethnic grocery store to have around, and this location is typical of their suburban locations.  That is, huge and with anything Indian you thought you might want.   For our first visit here, and in comparing to the Niles store anyway, I thought their cashew prices were very similar.  For whatever reason, I always think of whole cashews when I walk into a Patel's.  Wife thought prices in general were slightly more elevated than at Niles.  I also observed that their ready-to-eat selection of kitchen items seemed to be more extensive and varied here.    This store now anchors a large and nicely all Indian strip mall with a variety of shops and businesses.  It sure wasn't like this in Naperville years ago.  Nice to see and a thumbs up! read more

It you need a spice, it's here. I promise you. Not only will they carry it, but the prices are insanely cheap. I've never seen such a spice isle. I could spend an entire hour just looking at all of them. Any recipe I use, I will find what I need at Patel Bros. I absolutely love this store. It's clean. It's vast. And the prices are great. While I love making Indian and other Asian foods, don't feel you need to in order to find everything your typical grocery store carries. You'll find what you need and then some. Deli in back sells fresh samosas and rolls.Huge selection of spices , chutneys and other Indian ingredients. Refrigerated section has many offerings of frozen sweets and savory items. I go to Patel for South Indian items. They have a large variety of south Asian products, well stocked. The speciality ice cream is excellent. There are always helpful staff around. I also get their Bajara / millet chapati - which are excellent. The ambiance is that of any large grocery store. I will continue to go there read more

Hi, This is about the experience I had at your store (patel brothers at Naperville) and with your cashier Kiran G. During the billing time, the cashier is not customer friendly and wont address the query i was asking about the goods i was trying to purchase and also was not able to answer my questions on the Bill. She would call someone else to get my questions answered, which is kinda waste of my time. She was little arrogant. I was visiting the store from 1-2 years and never had this kind of experience before.Look into this and train your staff to handle the customers in a better way. Thanks, Ram. read more

This is probably the best Asian grocery store I've ever been to in the US. While many of them are smelly and filthy, this store is really clean and it smells clean. The products are not old and expired. The produce is very fresh and they have low prices. Check out their chapatti making machine. They have a prepared food section. The khaman dhokla was fantastic! So fresh! You can find really fresh high quality Saudi dates. They have really good lychees. Service was friendly. There's plenty of free parking. Really it's the cleanliness that will make me give them 5 stars. Wish other Indian stores would follow their example. read more

I always come here for the freshest produce. They have really good papaya here usually but I did get a super bitter one the last time I came. The avocados are also pretty affordable. They don't have certain veggies like kale though. read more

We frequent Patel Bros often and appreciate its location, size and options. It can get a bit crowded but there is a big parking lot and many other good restaurants and stores/banquet halls in the same strip mall area. The store has many Indian food staples including things specific to region. Would recommend if you need an Indian grocery store in Naperville. read more

Passed by this place often but dis not know what to expect and thus passed through each time. Glad we had an adventurous spirit today and dropped by. Once the door opens, a scent of spices welcomes us into a large area with isles of fruits, vegetables, and isles of food just like what we are accustomed to find I other asian grocery stores like Hmart. Only that there are more spices and curries to be found than kimchi, instant ramens or soy sauces! I love the experience and different options found here. The place is also very clean, friendly staff, and great prices on the fresh fruits and vegetables. Most of all, I love the Indian hot food section available at the back. Bought a few chicken puffs and they are really delicious. Great puffy flaky pastries! read more

I got an Instant Pot for Christmas and really needed organic black urad dal to make Dal Makhani and they had the Swad brand at a reasonable price. The overall impression is that the store is beautiful, clean and organized. They have a wide variety of fresh produce used in Indian cooking which you cannot find at a standard market. Minus one star because: 1) They only sell organic basmati rice in two pound bags 2) In the refrigerated sweets area (the aisle facing produce), they had many items that said, "Keep Frozen" - and yes, they were being refrigerated, not frozen. read more

This place was MOBBED on a Saturday night! Seriously, I couldn't believe the number of people grocery shopping. This place specializes in Indian foods, and it has clearly succeeded in appealing to shoppers of Indian descent; my friend and I appeared to be the only non-Indian people there. Patel Brothers is big, bright and full of stuff! Huge produce area, towering shelves of dry goods, a wall of freezer cases. I could have spent half an hour poring over the different flavors of kulfi. The one negative: parking lot was *insane*, and not helped by its comparatively small size. I'd like a chance to visit again on a less-crowded night and browse with more leisure. read more

I feel like some of the 1 and 2 star reviews are local desi grocery store owner/workers. There is no single indian grocery store in the chicagoland area that can match patel brothers. Patel brothers is like Costco for the indians, just as crowded with very long lines. I came here three times in the past two weeks and all three times it was crazy busy. There were workers in every aisle and were helping customers (throughout the entire store). All registers were open and running with at least 5 carts waiting in each line (like I said crazy busy). Groceries were cheap compared to other local grocery stores. They sell fresh parathas and samosas in the back right corner of the store. Also have fresh halal food as well. read more

I enjoy the Indian/ Middle Eastern selection of the food here as a European. We love the pre- prepared food, especially the samosas are great snacks on the go, and of course their chapatis are super nice and delicious. The veggies and fruits are affordable and fresh; and the staff is mostly kind and welcoming. :) read more

I have no words to describe this place besides magical. I've heard about Patel Brothers for a while but was not expecting this. Driving up, it was so big I thought it was a Whole Foods. Never before have I seen so many varieties of Indian frozen goods, cookies, teas, hot foods, the list goes on... Let's take a moment to talk about the frozen section. One long aisle filled on both sides with a million frozen South Asian goodies that I've never seen before. Do yourself a favor and pick up a few boxes of SWAD samosas. Yes, you'll likely stand there for a few minutes trying to figure out which ones to get so might as well try all of them. Now let's take another moment to talk about the cookie section. They have SO many cookie varieties at such reasonable prices! Chocolate chip, vanilla frosting, plain, you name it. Oh yeah and another thing: Indian ramen! I didn't know that was a thing. Also reasonable prices, as you'd expect from ramen. Actually everything here is quite reasonably priced, which was surprising given I'd imagine a large bulk of it is imported. Can't wait to make a return trip! Plus there are some good looking Indian restaurants in the area to try as well! read more

Was excited to check out the newest Patel Brothers here. First impressions - it is HUGE! Aisles and aisles of produce and Indian groceries. I could easily see it becoming a one stop shop for someone into Indian cooking. Everything was neatly arranged, staff were constantly on the floor keeping a close watch on items - stocking and rearranging as needed. If I needed help locating something they were always around. This however is a standard service at PB's, we shop often at the one in Schaumburg and its the same case there. What I found very disappointing however was the quality of the fresh produce. The one's which were good were really fresh but the rest were in pretty bad shape. They really shouldn't have been put on the shop floor. Was hoping to get some baby eggplants, okra and tindora - things that I typically don't find in other supermarkets but they were all so bad. Perhaps it was not the right day of the week? Was here on a weekend though. Oh well I'll never know - am sticking to the Patel Brothers at Schaumburg. It stays my favorite. read more

It's wonderful to finally have a full service grocery dedicated to providing all authentic Indian food to the Indian community. As far as Indian cuisine and Indian cooking goes, there is nothing Patel Brothers does not have. My mom and I are here every week to stock up on Indian produce, ingredients, and frozen entrees and treats. The service is excellent. since my house went plant-based/vegan back in january, we love eating the amazingly delicious and fragrant dishes found in indian cuisine. i have enormous respect for Indian cooking and i like to think i've gotten better at cooking Indian dishes, was missing a few specific spices/foods and was recommended to give patel bros. a visit. their selection is incredible; freshness and cleanliness are really good too. sadly, i had a really negative experience that echoes other reviewers. you can't help it when you're the only person outside a certain ethnic group in a very busy place, people look at you up and down, glare at you, you're an outsider, etc. but honestly, that doesn't bother me. this is nothing compared to the daily experiences of being a minority in a predominantly white culture, and we cannot and should not fault a business for that. but when i got to the checkout, the cashier totally switched from being smiling, friendly, and courteous (as her interactions were for the 7-8 people before me) to short, and kind of rough with the handling of fresh produce (like throwing the tomatoes down to the end of the belt). That's ok, plenty of people don't do a great job with customer service-- but the clincher was that the bagger did not bag my groceries... they just piled a bunch of empty bags into my cart, with the groceries on the bottom. i didn't realize that's what had happened until i walked out the doors and a gust of wind blew a cart full of empty grocery bags into the air. it was humiliating. at first, i wondered this was a mistake-- and that maybe *i* was supposed to bag the groceries, but then i remembered the nice interaction the man before me had with the grocery person and bagger, all *his* groceries were put away, and noticed other customers leaving with their items bagged-- and keep in mind there is a cashier and a bagger at every register. so, this was intentional, it was humiliating, and it seems indicative of a pattern at this particular business. i work with a sizable majority of Indian folks in my community and have never ever felt anything but respect. the behavior of these employees was a shame to their business. there are many other places where I can buy indian/desi groceries. read more

Four stars for the selection and ambiance of this extra large grocery store that boasts a great deal of Indian and Pakistani delights. However, the lack if organization and customer service subtracts one of not two stars. For a newly constructed ethnic mega grocery store with hot food options and extended inventory, this place has yet to reach its full potential. I'll give em another try in the future and if there's no improvement I'll be in search of other options. read more

Very disappointed. I was super excited that this location was opening but it's a complete let down. No concept of customer service. People working here look miserable and not at all friendly. Overly crowded with products and difficult to move around the store due to people/setup. You would expect that they built this place from the ground up and they would invest in creating a great customer experience but it is complete miss. I'll continue to shop at local store instead of here even if that means I'm paying a bit more. read more

Was a good experience visiting Patel Brothers. Was my first time in Illinois and had heard that they opened fairly recently, so we decided to check it out. Prices were competitive. Items were well marked and the store was clean and well organized. Pros: Generally good prices compared to Jalaram Plaza (and definitely better compared to Spice Mart). Huge selection of pulses and lentils. Huge selection of sweets. Good hot served items: samosas, paneer rolls etc. Liked that they had a small basket with wheels to carry items, rather than lugging around a big cart. Cons: Prices were not listed on hot items and some items were costly (Example: Batata Wada, $2 for 1) Dals were placed right under the vegetables, they should have been kept separately. Sweets were mostly expensive and could be marked down a bit. There did not seem to be a lot of offers / sales / discounts for items. Items of the same type should generally be kept together (Example: All sweets, all pulses) Ready made items sold by the pound (Example: Chicken 65, Chicken lollipop) were expensive. read more

The community that own these stores are known for their shady and unscrupulous business practices .Please do not buy any prepared food from them . Wanted to update from today July 4th 2018: Was at the Naperville Store, and one other customer of Indian origin who was there along with his wife was sampling snacks from the bulk snack bins. I was cordial to remind him that there notices above the bins requested patrons inot to sample due to health department regulations. The audacity of that guy was to ask me to "get out of his face" and he dared me to complain, which i gladly went ahead. To my dismay the store manager said he couldn't do anything since his management asked him not to argue with customers. My question to Patel Brothers, "Why do you want to have this kind of customers?" you should ban serving these kind of clientele. My statement to that customer, "You fell in grace in your own eyes and that of your wife. If you have kids, yust think of what kind of role model you are. You might be literate but not educated. You are the kind of Indian that brings a bad reputation to all the hard working immigrants in this country of ours" read more

The good old Cermak is way cheaper than Patel bros. The best and freshest vegetables and fruits. May certainly not have a wide variety of Indian/ Pakistani items but its also not an exclusively Indian store. Vegetables from Patel bros are seldom fresh and many other items are costlier in comparison. They have a not so very customer friendly return policy too, to add on. Not my stop at all. Being Indian, I either do my grocery shopping in Devon or Naperville who are about same distance for me. But ever since I tried this place, I'm stuck with them. 1. Huge building with humongous choices of Indian and Pakistani food items. There isn't anything you can't get here. 2. Parking is a huge plus for me and is the main reason I come here instead of doing my grocery shopping at Devon 3. They make fresh rotis right in front of you and there's a kitchen at the back to try some of their food items. 4. They offer free give always randomly during festivals and when you buy bulk stuff which is super cool. 5. Very attentive and pleasant staff who are always willing to help and assist 6. Special mention of the manager and his staff who were nice enough to offer replacement carrom board coins for free when I came back without a receipt mentioning how I forgot to pick up coins on my initial purchase. 7. Very wide selection of vegetables which are slightly cheaper than their Devon store. Great job guys and keep up the good work and the prices read more

An incredible produce department with a large selection of unique fresh fruits and vegetables. The prices seem much lower than other grocery stores. They have bulk bins of dried item, spiced and snacks which is a good way to try items without having to purchase a large amount. They have a fresh, grab and go food section with naan, somasa, paneer puffs and other items. I've tried 4-5 and enjoyed all of them. If you need any Indian rice, flour, spices, you won't be disappointed with their selections. They need to work on customer service skills. read more

What is there that this business has that others don't? The only thing that I have seen is the space and ready to eat food. The veggies are not that good, the groceries are much better in the family owned businesses. Small businesses take interest in their store and they know their customers by name. They try to get stuff when a customer ask them but not the chain companies. Small businesses made our communities a better and easier place to live. Over all it's not at all what they said that they would be. I would rather go to cermak or other small businesses around that place to get at the same price or even better. read more

It's new so the employees are still learning. Look at the receipt before leaving. I walked out paying more because the cashier charged me twice for the my mango juice case then when she double checked the priced, she charged me again. The bottom of the receipt says check your receipt and bags before you leave. It was a novice mistake on her part or a clever scheme. I left and checked my receipt at home. I'm SOL.
