When you visit their website, indiaco.com, using your phone or PC and select the Chicago location,…read moreyou naturally expect to see the latest ad flyer. Most users wouldn't notice the small, tiny date in the right-hand corner. What's the point of displaying expired ads? It's frustrating that the management doesn't bother to update the website and instead argues that customers should "check the date." My question to them is simple: why aren't you updating your website with the latest ads with the current date? I even confirmed this issue with the store manager, Chintan. His phone showed the same outdated ad, and he initially gave me the same excuse as other employees. However, after he went inside office (to update the website but not telling that he is going to update) he later returned and told me that it's working. Please check. Definitely it will work now because you updated already just now but he is not telling me that he updated. There's much more to discuss if the owner is willing to contact me. With this kind of management and attitude, it won't be long before the business close.

First let me point out Indiaco has an almost 4 star rating on Google with many more reviews. It's a…read moreSouth Indian grocery chain with two locations in IL and one in GA. One can find Indian: groceries, condiments, snacks, meats, frozen goods, candies, household goods, games (Carrom boards & cricket accessories), sweets, produce, basically most items Indian families want in their homes that remind them of India. Heading out there in the evenings after work, you'll catch a few looks from other customers in that way of; "you look familiar, do I know you?" They don't, but they gotta look and if you're friendly and can speak the language you might make a new friend. In Chicago we have few Indian centric stores and most are North Indian with selections. So to see foods, frozen foods, breads, seasonings, sweets, etc used in S Indian cooking, it's welcoming. Love being able to find my fav brands for coffee, tea, sweets, incense, etc. The store offers a number of fruits and vegetables not found in other markets. Especially jackfruit that has been cleaned and packaged neatly. IYDKYK. Jackfruit is a pain to cut and clean. You can buy jackfruit cleaned or in its original form. I've been buying the store cut jackfruit for many months. It's at a premium cost to buy but damn is it good. When framily visits everybody wants to know where I bought it from because they want it too. There are plenty of stores to access the fruit but wherever these guys are sourcing it, it's been in perfect form and tasty. Some of the commentary in the low starred reviews is indicative of problems found in ethnic markets but also of what's affected the nation's grocery in general. The pandemic and the ability of stores to move their product and discard outdated items. Thankfully, I haven't purchased anything near or after expiration here except for some cut produce. Could be because I'm familiar with that and actively checking when I buy pantry goods. (But I'll tell you, I was at a suburban Mariano's last night 1-9-24, and their packaged nuts had all expired in November/ December 2023. Plenty of grocery chains lost their seasoned, experienced, produce & marketing staff that checked for exp dates & cycled out new for old. Who knows how long it will take before these large stores regain folks that pay attention to these details. Store management has to pay higher attention to the needs of their customers spending monies.) When checking out, depending on your in-store expenditure you might receive a free sweet or pack of Maggi noodles. Whatever the cashier has on hand.

Here are some of things that are usually on the shopping list: * dried rice noodles (for pho and noodle soups) * sauces or seasonings (hot pot broth packets, xo sauce, chicken bouillon, pho soup powder, bun bo hue soup powder, pho spices, chinese cooking wine, dashi, fried garlic, fried onion, etc.) * produce (bok choy, pea shoots) * tofu * baked goods (bbq pork buns, hot dog buns) * frozen items (dumplings, udon) I re-stock on items that I wouldn't be able to easily access to the grocery stores closer to me. It's definitely an out-of-the-way grocery trip for me, but the Park to Shop Aurora location is much closer than say, driving the Chinatown for Asian groceries. I am glad I can get what I need here, the prices are average/accessible, and there are so many options to eat Pacifica Square so it's fun to make a little trip out of it. My order usually is 1) eat something delicious in the food court or right around Pacifica Square, then 2) walk off the food by grocery shopping. Be sure to peruse the sauce aisle! That's my favorite.

The parking lot is huge and I rarely see full. Everything in the market can be hard to find but as long as you kinda know what you want, you shouldn't have a huge issues. Besides, there are always translation apps that can help you. There is a food court with plenty of options. And even outside, there are plenty of restaurants. But I normally come for the shopping.
