Alina attended us and she was super attentive to what we were looking for. She didn't look at us wondering if we can afford it or not and showed us the only things she had available that day. Unfortunately, what I wanted was not in stock but my wife fell in love with a beautiful watch they did have that she had to take it. As you may know, there is never a gurantee on what they'll have that day but always good to drop in.

This is a fantastic vintage watch shop. I just have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I…read morelove the way their pieces are curated, their authenticity, the website, their fabulous vintage Gruen neon sign and their experience from so many years in business, how knowledgeable the sales staff is, and I also love that they introduced me to the history of the vintage Rolex "bubbleback" when I first moved to Los Angeles years ago. I learned so much about timepieces just visiting the shop. What I don't like is maybe something they do in the watch business frequently; downplay what piece you are wearing when you are shopping in order to make you dissatisfied with your own watch collection. Also, gaslighting a customer to think that they are expecting too much when something isn't repaired properly. I never wanted to sell them anything, but they would discuss whatever watch I was wearing when I was browsing or would take in for service. A few years ago the gentleman running the store classified an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak I was wearing as "the kiss of death" because of the caliber of its movement and on another visit said that my Rolex 16618 wasn't special or worth anything unless it had the "serti" diamond and sapphire dial. Which is complete lunacy when I look back on it, but at the time I was taking everything he said so seriously. Every time I looked at my AP watch after that all I could think of was "kiss of death". They refinished one of my 18k gold watches here for a decent price and they did an excellent job on the polishing and brushed links. But when I picked it up and asked why the previously scratched "cyclops" magnifying glass on the crystal hadn't been replaced they basically said that I was nitpicking their service and that I should just be happy with their watch refinishing, and appreciate the value their work. I could've just as easily mailed it off to the Rolex repair center and paid a little bit more, having it done directly by Rolex...who replace watch crystals. Which is what I did later. About a decade ago, they serviced an 18k gold ladies' President my mother had and polished all the brushed links shiny, which was odd and kind of weird. She was too polite to say anything and just paid for it. They also purchased a friend of mine's Cartier Tank watch when I told him about the store and he was happy with the transaction. It's a fabulous looking store and it's basically an institution because it has been in business so long. It's really an integral part of Melrose Ave. and I love their vintage watch selection. Just don't enjoy snarky comments about what I'm wearing by the sales team, or the disregard of work that I had specified on a refinishing.

The sales staff is so knowledgeable, obviously proud of their brand, and loves talking about watches in general. You never feel rushed nor pressured to buy. Mimi Kang was my sales associate: she is fantastic, charismatic, personable, charming, and went above and beyond to make the whole experience fun and memorable. I enjoyed a celebratory beverage after my purchase, and she stoked me out with very cool Tudor swag. A lot of times, the corporate ball caps you get for free are cheesy, but the Tudor caps are very well constructed and I actually wear mine a lot. Almost as much as my Tudor watches! I've bought two watches now at this location, both Black Bay 58's. The one pictured (in the photos I uploaded) is the "coke" bezel GMT edition on rubber straps. Six month prior, I acquired the bronze BB58, which has developed an attractive and unique patina over time. Even though they are the same model, they look completely different! One more elegant and dressy, the other more sporty and rugged. Both are comfy as heck, and possess that legendary Tudor craftsmanship, quality and durability.

Shortly after, I heard back from Naima, a long-time sales representative at the boutique. From the start, she was professional, warm, and genuinely welcoming. When I arrived, she encouraged me to look around, and then offered me a seat while she retrieved the watches that I expressed interested in. The atmosphere felt relaxed and unpretentious. The showroom is well designed and intimate. Once she returned, we spent a lot of time trying on different pieces and just casually talking... not just about watches, but life in general. There was absolutely no pressure. Naima gave me plenty of time to handle the watches, take photos and videos, and even directed me to a full-length mirror so I could really see how they wore. We spent about an hour and a half going through several Classique and Marine models. The experience felt thoughtful and unhurried, and Naima shared helpful insights about the pieces which was helpful. Afterward, I thanked her and let her know how valuable the appointment had been for my decision-making. To my surprise, she went a step further and offered a few keepsakes. A few weeks later, I even received a handwritten holiday card in the mail, which was a very thoughtful touch. This is the level of service you hope for at a high-end boutique. If you're lucky enough to work with Naima, you'll be treated with patience, warmth, and genuine care throughout the process. She's such a gem... if only there were more in this industry like her! As for Breguet itself--it's an incredible brand. The craftsmanship is outstanding, especially the engine-turned dials, which have a depth and character you don't often see anymore. These watches aren't flashy, but when you look at a Breguet, the quality and craftsmanship is so blatently obvious and wonderful to see. Pictures online never do enough justice.. you really have to come in to see these timepieces for yourself!
