Very strange and offensive experience with this store today-- they wouldnt let me (a potential…read morecustomer) in the store. This was a SAt, the manager told me access is only by appt and only to people who are recommended. I explained i bought a watch at the store about 4 years ago-- makes no difference he said. First reason I wanted access inside was to see if they could order/sell me a replacement watchband for an expensive watch i had with me. Manager (speaking through the door, he wouldnt let me in) said they cant get me a replacemnet band and they dont sell any generic watch bands at the store (this i find hard to believe.) Then having been offended by lack of access I asked if i can make an appt to go to the store to buy a watch, I said i was offended by lack of access (as above) and now I wanted to buy a watch at the store by appt (because appt is required.) I promised I would buy a watch for minimum of $100 if he lets me in. He said no, cant get in unless recommended. I asked if lack of access had anything to do with my dress or appearance or skin color or the fact i had a backpack with me (I offered to leave it outside, explained I was on foot as my car is in the shop today) or if it made any difference what I do for a living or how much money i have. He said no, owner (who is not available to be contacted he said) just has a policy that nobody gets in unless by appt AND unless recommended. This is the most offensive and frustrating experience i have ever had at any (purported) retail store.

This time, he and his wonderful staff helped me to pull off a surprise for her. I arranged for us to be "in the neighborhood", and suggested we stop by Peter's store since we were so seldom there. She was immediately smitten by a jaw-dropping, one-of-a-kind oval diamond eternity band, which she adored but I suggested was probably out of this year's budget. She was amazingly disappointed but agreed, and we left, but not before I slipped our sales associate Gina a note asking her to save the ring for us. I came back and picked up the ring a week later. I arranged with Gina that she would give my wife a courtesy call to let her know that the ring had been purchased. Our little girls then told my wife that they would make her a special jewelry box and make her an even better ring, and collected rocks from the garden she thought they were going to paint and glue together. Instead, we snuck the ring in the box, and I think for the first time in 20 years, I genuinely managed to surprise my wife :) Needless to say, yet another beautiful moment made even more memorable and sparkling by Peter Marco, his top notch staff, and of course his flawless jewelry!!

There were a couple ways to go about the restoration -- and for me, it made sense to go with really doing it right. I found their price to be fair, and their workmanship fantastic.
