This is only a churros y chocolate review. Oh and hello fellow vegans! I looked everywhere on Yelp, DuckDuckGo, and HappyCow to try to track down vegan churros and chocolate, and could not find clear places to eat these tasty treats. Typically, churros are vegan so that wasn't the hard part. Some are made with eggs (huevos), but traditional Spanish churros are not. However, most of the delicious chocolate drizzle is made with milk (leche). On my first day in Barcelona, I was planning on getting breakfast and then hunting down some churros. Lo and behold, a few blocks away from my hostel I see a sign saying "vegan churros". Umm, yes please!! I couldn't resist the temptation and went in to ask if the chocolate was "sin leche" (without milk). Ding ding ding, we have a winner! I had to get them. What a beautiful introduction to Barcelona! I thought I might fall for a beautiful Spanish man, but instead I fell in love with churros (and don't get me started on the tapas). I came back later to get another 6 churros. My girlfriend and I kept walking up and down the streets of Barcelona near Las Ramblas and couldn't decide what to eat. We're very glad we walked into this restaurant. We both had the same dish (Chicken Paella) and both loved it. Also the red Sangria was great too. The Churros with Nutella was the perfect dessert to end the meal. Lastly, no hidden cover charges or fees. Only reason not 5 stars is because the seating was pretty cramped. read more

I'd definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner. I'm visiting Barcelona for the first time and wanted to eat paella. After reading the reviews, my family and I came to this place. The place is not huge, but it was cozy, and the food was great. They custom-made paella for us with seafood and halal chicken. We also ordered Spanish tomato bread, prawns in garlic oil and patatas bravas. All the food was tasty. Bottled Salsa picante made the patatas taste wild! Not bad. We were hungry and saw this place so we came right in. The food is great and delicious. The reason i gave them 3 stars is because it was very expensive for the food we got. Maybe it's because it was in a tourist area. We noticed that people eating there were mostly tourists. Hahaha. We ordered churros and hot chocolate the churros were too sweet, smothered with sugar and combine it with the hot chocolate, you'll end up getting diabetes. Located on La Rambla, this bar/restaurant offers food upstairs and desserts downstairs. We ordered a batch of churros (which were vegan!) with chocolate sauce, which we were told had no nuts in them; however, the pouring sauce (thicker chocolate), is different, and contains a hazelnut chocolate (which we were not told). If you have a nut allergy, DO NOT get the pouring chocolate. The churros were decent for vegan churros; they were your standard log shaped, quite thick, and soft. The staff were quite pushy in trying to get us to the seating area upstairs, but located on La Rambla, I'm sure they're trying to get more customers inside. read more

What a great respite from the crowds of people on Las Ramblas! We didn't know the bar was upstairs, thought we were just going to get churros and sangria to walk around with, what a great surprise to be directed upstairs. The bartender immediately greeted us and sat us at a table overlooking the street, so we got to experience the ambiance in a relaxing setting. The sangria was delicious and perfect for a hot day. Very fresh too, the fruit was cut when we ordered it and was crisp. We ordered churros which were great - but we ordered more than we needed: each order consists of about eight 4-5" churros, one order is more than enough for two to share. We couldn't stay long so the churros ended up being our lunch, but the paella and other dishes that we saw going around looked absolutely delicious. Highly recommend! read more

I came here after a full day of exploring Las Ramblas. We weren't that that hungry but just wanted to have a drink and hang out. We actually were approached by 2 guys in front while looking for a place. Tbh the front doesn't seem like much. You wouldn't even have known there was a full bar and restaurant upstairs! Glad we were recruited because it was a really fun bar. The bartender was really nice and immediately started making me a sangria. We had eaten before so we just opted for some appetizers which were good and filling. We got patatas bravas and wings. Wish I would have known about their churros! Their pizzas were good, but all the food and drinks were way overpriced. I have been drinking Vermut Rojo for the last three days. The most expensive was 4,50€. I landed in Barcelona, checked in to my hotel, and started wandering. I was starving, and no place I saw seemed quintessentially Barcelona enough to have as a first meal. When I entered Las Ramblas (tourist central) some guy was handing out flyers for this place. I knew it was a mistake but I went in anyway. I was led to a table and the guy asked where was from. I said New York. He said "Alright! New York!" and then started laughing to his buddy. They were playing club music. In front of me was a flatscreen TV with a slideshow of pics you would see on a bar website (people doing shots, random groups screaming, etc.). At least 58% of the people in the pictures had soul patches. I got a tortilla type thing, which had lukewarm jamon iberico, some arugula, and a little cheese. Please don't go here. read more

Tourist Trap with capital T's. I felt a little bad after being rude to the person handing out flyers, plus we were STARVING, so on our way back up Las Ramblas, we stopped in. We were conned into 4 orders of churros and hot chocolate, which was way too much food for the 4 of us (3 adults 1 child) - we only wanted 1 order. When we told them we didn't want 4 orders, they claimed that they already prepared the churros freshly for us and that we couldn't cancel it. Worst part was that the churros were downright awful. They were obviously prepared a long time ago and were soft and mushy. Hot chocolate was watery and tasteless. After complaining again, they reluctantly agreed to remove 2 of the plates of churros from out bill (which we didn't touch). This bar literally stole from us. We walked in and were then offered a free shot! We only wanted one drink, so that was perfect. They then gave my friend and I a shot and five minutes later two cups of red bull for 16 euros. We never ordered redbull. We didn't drink it. They wouldn't let us leave until we paid. If you want to pay the equivalent of $20 for one red bull, this place will be your heaven. This bar's strategy is to trick you, rather than be authentic. They steal. Don't ever go here! read more
