We revisited PJs and were not disappointed! We ordered the Gobbler and the Famous Pastrami hot sandwiches for lunch. Ingrediants were freah, breads tender and tasty and the meats drool worthy. The food still great and staff all warm and friendly. read more

I was happy to find Pastrami Joe's in Marshall! As former Manhattanites, it was a relief to find PJ's as a downtown alternative to pub food. Wonderful owners & staff, with a dedication to hospitality & cleanliness: tables were sprayed & wiped down after every diner left - wow! My wife's Reuben was excellent - toasted & nicely constructed, but my Hot Pastrami was made of the same meat as my wife's (there is a difference) & was cold & slathered with a too strong mustard & loaded with sour pickle slices. Corned beef was un-necessarily salty as well. Next time, I will counsel with their great team before ordering. read more

From out of town doing business in Marshall and came across this sign with a dude, with an arrow on it, that said something about a deli. I decided to check it out, and was not disappointed. I ordered the Ruben - and it was solid along with the chips. I have had better, but of course it was from places like Slymans,, Zingermans, and Shapiros - check out their prices. Gang Joe's prices are definitely fair in this economy. When you go eat fast food and get a burger fries and Coke the price nowadays is $11. This place is not fast food, it's a local business that supports the community. I have no doubt that the ingredients and the care they put into your food is far superior then a chain. So i went to this place with very high hopes and eagerness to support a small family owned business. I work nights so i stopped in at around 8am because they seemed to be the only savory place open. When i arrived there was only breakfast however the lady at the front counter said they could make me a rueben. I was happy! When i got home my wrapper was so greasy i was like then i open the most SAD corned beef rueben ive EVER had, arbys was better. The meat was cold, packed with sauerkraut and mushy rye bread. AND there was no pickle that i ordered (which i was charged for) . BEWARE! This place sucks! read more

I'm gonna go with 2 stars. Pastrami sandwich has great flavor but for $13 one would think there would be a lot of meat(without gristle) on it. I've had the Ruben and it is also tasty and while I didn't have the issue with gristle it was still expensive for the amount of meat. Wife loves the chicken Caesar wrap but again it's $$$. Extremely disappointed they left BC but I get it. COVID lockdowns hurt everyone. I say try it but take out a loan first. We bought 4 sandwiches no extras or drinks and it was almost $45. The picture shows the size of the $11 chicken Caesar wrap and a $4 cup of mediocre clam chowder. I hope they make it thru this covid crap and can reevaluate their prices. We will be watching the their website and continue to try and go there when it's more affordable. read more

This was the first time we've eaten at Pastrami Joe's. I had the club sandwich, and my husband had the roast beef sandwich. My sandwich was a cold sandwich. My hubby's was originally on the "cold sandwich" menu, but he had the sandwich toasted. The next time I have the club, I will have the bread toasted as well. The one thing we both noticed about our sandwiches is they were a little on the dry side -- needed more condiments put on it. They sell different types of mustards--including a cranberry mustard, but I didn't see any sitting out available for dining customers' use. We both got a 1/2 sandwich, and it was a good size sandwich still. The dine-in area is very clean and pleasant. I loved all the sarcastic signs. Pastrami Joe's has 2 locations -- one in Marshall and one in Battle Creek. Make sure to check their hours because they do have limited hours. Saturday, I believe they close at 3, and they are not open on Sundays. read more

Lovely sandwich shop right off of the main road in downtown Marshall, Michigan! Super friendly staff welcomed us and made menu recommendations. We opted for the Hot Italian Grinder that was loaded with premium meats and fresh veggies. The Caesar dressing really made the sandwich shine. Bread was perfectly toasted and fresh. Pleasantly surprised by Lobster Bisque as a soup option so we added that to the order as well. Delicious and creamy - the perfect accompaniment to our meal. Many salad, wrap and hot or cold sandwich options available. It's a short drive off of I94, and a much better option than the usual fast food fare off the expressway. Downtown looked lovely, and we'd like to explore more the next time we enjoy this stellar establishment. read more

This is a small sandwich shop located in downtown Marshall. Great selection of subs and sandwiches. They also have pizza that is really good. Plus, the only place in Marshall that I know that sells Ahi Tuna in either a salad or wrap and is surprisingly very good. Dinning room is small so not a lot of seating, but they do have tables outside in the summer. They do offer to go orders via phone or their website. People are very friendly and the service is fast. I have been coming here for about 15 years and never had a bad meal. read more

I met a friend in Marshall, and we asked for a lunch place recommendation from the art gallery guy; he suggested Pastrami Joe's. So glad he did! We both got the No. 135 -- PJ's Grilled Veggie - grilled medley of mushrooms, spinach, sweet onions, roasted red peppers and feta with red pepper mayo in a grilled wrap for 7.49, and it was absolutely delicious. Kudo's for Gluten free buns for sandwiches! Pastrami was tender. My friend wanted a lettuce wrap, instead of bun and this confused them. Would recommend that be an I took for those that don't do carbs. Daughter had soup and she loved it. Off the beaten path a bit, but worth the drive. read more

The food is very good. The quality of the ingredients is top notch. Nice calm atmosphere, decor is welcoming and pleasant. I would have given it 4 stars (rarely do I give 5 stars for anything) but the prices are ridiculously high. My daughter and I had a corned beef sandwich on marble rye, a pickle and a bottled drink and a ham and cheese sandwich and a chocolate milk and it was $20. My sandwich alone was $9.50. Seems a little steep. If cost is no object then go for it! Like I said, it's tasty!!! read more

Went in for the first time today. I wasn't sure what to get, so I just ordered the "Joes Soon To Be Famous Hot Pastrami" and OH MAN was it good! It was warm and fresh and tasted unlike any other pastrami sandwich I've ever tasted. The service was friendly and outstanding, I left a tip. I will go here over subway all the time now. read more

Had a bite of my friends Italian Grinder and OMG...surprisingly good. Hot and toasty, not overpowering on the meats which is a big plus in my book considering I do not like Italian meats at all. It's says a lot that I actually liked this sub since it's not something I would ever order myself. The bread was warm and toasty, just flaky enough. Who doesn't love a great sandwhich. Nothing around Marshall and Battle Creek beats the deli sandwiches at PJ's. The owners are very friendly, and the food is as good as it gets! "Jo Mama" is my favorite hot sandwich. Recently had the Blackened Ahi Tuna Ceaser salad - WOW! I highly recommend either store - same quality from both. read more

One of the very few places in Marshall that offers fresh (not greasy and fried) food. And I always enjoy the soups. Unfortunately I have to agree with the other reviews that prices are unreasonable relative to the portion sizes. And yes, their namesake sandwich meat is gristly, and many of the sandwiches are bready and dry. I do hope they can make some changes, as I'd look forward to getting a couple of my favorites there without feeling like i was being fleeced. read more

No kids meals but substantial grilled cheeses and chicken noodle soup was delicious and appropriate for the kids. Price was around $40 for 3 grilled cheese, 3 side soups, 1 pastrami sandwich and 1 side salad. A little pricey but the bread was fresh. (We saw it on a rack in the back.) The side salad was good and the pastrami was delicious. The cashier was so sweet and helped our family get situated. She told us that she left NC to come to Marshall, MI. What a darling town it is. We called ahead and I highly recommend that at lunch time. There was a long line at the register and the phone calls were being picked up before the people in line. We will be back!! read more

We looked forward to trying this place. Although my husband enjoyed his pastrami sandwich, I was very disappointed in the French Dip (daily special). The bread and dip were delicious, but I think I only got two thin slices of meat, one of which was fried to a crisp (with the onions apparently). This food was decent quality , however portion size was pathetic. For your price tag of 12$ a sandwich on normal sandwich bred it's a huge rip off. My sandwich was practically flavorless and by the time I finished it the bread was soggy and gross. I don't recommend ever eating here ever #13 was a terrible choice so was the #12. Fix your damn food. read more

We ordered from their special December brunch menu, and I felt like we got a lot of food for a reasonable price. The Snowman Sammy was delicious. So was the cinnamon roll from a local bakery! We did wait a long time for our drinks and food to arrive, which was disappointing because the restaurant was far from full. We will definitely be back to enjoy this spot!

They're OK they don't make the best sandwiches in the world I think they're over price price by 27% it seems like they're trying to make $1 million or one year in their business because they know Marshall so small they have no choice but to raise their prices so they can make $1 million each customer so they can retire right away and basically you're just gonna screw your customers away and customers just won't come to know more the way the economy is these days and how this president is destroying everything people are watching every single dollar he's been And when you make sandwiches and people and you don't even offer chips with it for free or even a drink as a special you're basically screwed a customer for every single thing they buy and that's not any deals especially being in the location you're at where nobody could even seen you out in the road when you're hiding next to an alley I don't think anybody wants to go to you when you're charged much money for a sandwich and you have to buy your own potato chips Especially when you gotta go get your own food and take it to the table instead of them bring it out to you like a waiter would read more

It's so much better and so much cheaper to go to Subway. This place is overdoing it and they don't even put enough meat mayonnaise or anything what a waste of money for a stupid sandwich. The bad part is you can't find any rice that makes good sandwiches, except for Broadway Grill. read more
