a plate of food with eggs and potatoes

I need an extra star here or two. Food and adult beverages outstanding friendly staff fair and reasonable pricing. Outstanding Mother's Day brunch and a delicious bloody Mary. Eggs benedict cooked to perfection.

Double IPA- so delicious !

Delicious beer and even more delicious food. Tim served us and his sense of humor made our experience that much more enjoyable. I ordered pulled pork nachos and my husband ordered the past time burger. The nachos were such a large portion my husband had to help me out! The facilities were very clean and well maintained. All the staff we encountered seemed happy to be working at the Pastime brewery. There is also a nightly special! We will most certainly be back before our time in Oroville is over.

Who knew? Who knew Oroville would have such a nice, modern restaurant with great food. The outside is quite boring and honestly, quite unmemorable where you just drive by which I did for many years. My bad. The inside is clean and open and welcoming. They offer various types of apps, sandwiches and full meals. The bar has both tap and bottled beer. They even have a pool table on the other side of the restaurant. I will, no doubt, be back many times when I visit that area.

Live music on a Friday night

From the first time I went into this place, I was made to feel like family. Ask Tyson to make you his famous fresh squeezed orange juice margarita. Prime rib night on Fridays is a big hit, but get there early because it sells out. I also really liked the elk and bison burgers. Oh, and excellent beers! This is a small town gem.

Roasted Chicken Panini with fries! Delicious!

As soon as you walk in here, it's like, "Am I still in Oroville?" Pastime is a very modern and cool restaurant. It's complete with a pool area, bar, and regular restaurant seating area. The exposed brick wall makes it feel like you are in another town or city, maybe Seattle? The menu has so many options. I ended up choosing the Chicken Panini. It was so good. The bacon made the sandwich extra flavorful. I chose to have my sandwich with the house fries. Let me say that these are some of the best fries I've ever had. I also ate my fries with the aioli. SO SO SO GOOD. A lemony and buttery taste that even complemented my sandwich! Others in my party ordered the buffalo wings, house burger and the pulled pork sandwich! All were good! I will be back here if I am ever in Oroville again. If only it were closer to Seattle...

With vendors from local wineries and eateries, there will be something here for everyone in your crew. Grabbed a beer flight at Neighborhood Brewing - standouts were the Lime Lager and IPA. Ladies in my party had cocktails at Workshop Spirits, thinking they were great and refreshing. We all gathered for food at Ward's. We had the nachos and Potato Confit Flatbread - both were super good, including the cilantro crema of the nachos. The peach Bellini machine wasn't ready when we first arrived, but by the end it was available to give us testers and we might come back just for those. TIP: drinks can only be consumed in the patio of the establishment you're buying from, but food can be delivered to any of those patios. Centre seating is table service by Ward's that allows you a taste of beverages from any of the vendors. Also, the water features around the center are pet (and people) friendly for cooling off on a hot day. The outdoor environment, even on a hot day, was a nice setting for appreciating the surrounding area. Also enjoyed the acknowledgment of First Nations' people who first inhabited the area (like all good Canadian establishments).

There are several screens on the wall, which would satisfy any sports fans. Staff are friendly. No complaints. The fish & chips here are pretty solid. I had mine with onion rings and coleslaw. Typical tasty pub food. Hit the spot. As of my visit they have 5 beers (light to medium). Enough for a flight basically. Can't go wrong. Good choice for getting food in the area.

We ordered 20oz draft lager ($8.75), Calamari ($18), Dry Ribs ($17), Pulled Pork Sandy ($19.50), and Rose Alfredo Pasta ($19). We meant to say we ordered Baby Back Ribs as waitress misheard it as Dry Ribs. We missed the timing to correct out order. Everything was pretty good except Dry Ribs. Calamari was crispy and flavourful. Dry Ribs didn't stand out as much. It was just dry ribs with salty and peppery flavour in a small portion. Pulled Pork Sandwich was fantastic with plentiful of fries. Sandwich was nicely made with coleslaw. Meat stuffing was delicious as well. Rose Pasta was mouthwateringly tasty. Garlic bread was so good even with Rose pasta sauce. Staff were nice and friendly. Barley Mills was a great place for our dinner last night. There was a pool table by the washroom if any customers want to play pool with friends after work. It was quite a memorable dining experience. Food was two thumbs worthy. I would love to dine here again with my family.

And, let's be honest *checks map* there are not a lot of dining options in Mazama! In fact, earlier in the day, we actually popped in to ask if they took reservations (they don't) and to get a sense of the best time to arrive for dinner. The staff was super helpful and suggested coming around 5/5:30pm to beat the crowds. We followed their advice and showed up just after 5:30 and sure enough, there were still some tables available both inside and outside. We chose a shaded outdoor table and then placed our order at the register/bar. I went with the poke bowl because... of course I did. The portion size was generous, so generous that I couldn't finish it (probably because I had already devoured a massive pulled pork sandwich earlier at the Mazama Store... no regrets). The fish was fresh and the flavors were great. Service was impeccable. Everyone we interacted with was friendly yet efficient. Prices were also very reasonable especially for a relatively remote mountain town. While I didn't have any of the beers, there are plenty of craft brews available. All in all, Mazama Public House is a gem of a spot nestled in one of Washington's most scenic areas. Whether you're a hiker, cyclist, or just passing through, I highly recommend stopping in for a great meal and good vibes!
