I'll admit it. I had seen this antiques shop on Google, looked at the photos, and thought this probably was another "country chic" or "all china all the time" antiques shop. I was so glad to have been wrong. They had a great selection at fair prices, and the person working there was friendly and helpful. Keep in mind that this wasn't the same person other reviewers have made clear is extremely rude, so try to go in on the day that person isn't working. My wife never says "they have great stuff in here." She said that about this place. We will definitely return, but maybe only when the friendly person is working. read more

It's located in a lovely house, and you step through various rooms to look at items. I love getting a sense of local history by going to antiques shops and seeing what they carry. Sometimes the emphasis of a particular time frame or particular travel souvenirs tells me about who used to live in the area and what they were interested in. Pastiche was really fun to begin to go through. Mostly, there were a lot of cookware and servingware items: incredible sets and individual tea cups and saucers, old cast iron cookware, silver spoons. There were large furniture pieces such as old armoires, cabinets, and sitting sets. But then there was a whole room dedicated to Asian pottery, such as vases, Japanese dishes, etc. There was even a set of Victorian lamps, such as the one you'd see in Walt Disney's Apartment above Disneyland, that just fascinated me. I had never seen those in any antique store I've visited. And then I asked about the price of something that was unmarked. Ultimately, while very competitively priced, I decided against getting the item. The shopkeeper made a very rude comment to one of the workers that I wouldn't be purchasing anything because I put back this cheaply-priced item. It turned me off so much, I promptly left the store. I probably would have bought something from here. I may have needed to come back later in the day (closer to ferry departures to Seattle) to do so. (Consider this, Mr. Shopkeeper!) A couple of other notes: - Did not see antique cameras here, so if they are here, they'd be a small set - All other shopkeepers and attendants in Winslow were so nice and do not bat an eye at curious and unpaying tourists who want to wander in and look. Stumbled upon this hidden gem since we were heading to the Bainbridge Historical Museum. This spot is located right next door. Upon arriving it kind of looks like a quaint little house with lots of unique decor. Upon entering is a little intimidating. They hav a nice doll sitting there to welcome you and for awhile we didn't see anyone just the chirping of birds in their birdcage and another sound... which we later figured out was a dog in the back with the owners. The owners and staff are very friendly and we were happy to see he was making lots of sales while we were there. This shop is by far, one of the coolest and antique-y antique shops I've ever been to. They had old jewelry, photo albums with photos that looked like it came from the late 1800s and clothing and furniture pieces. Things seemed appropriately priced and in good condition. Lots of little rooms throughout the store, so take your time and see if something catches your eye! read more

WARNING NEVER SHOP HERE!!!!!!! I went to Bainbridge for the first time and when I walked in to this antique shop the owner was a complete stand-off rude jerk. He was not helpful and made me feel uncomfortable asking questions because he would responding making me feel stupid for even asking. When I found an old Bible I was curious in and asked questions he got so rude snotty, offended by my questions and upset with me for even asking that he said I don't deserve the book and that I hope I learned "my lesson" and he would not sell me the book. I was so shocked that he was talking to me this way in front of other customers who were also shocked that he even had the audacity to say "you standing there isn't going to change my mind so get out." I was so embarrassed and humiliated I left crying. I wish I could give them negative stars. If you want to be disrespected, treated like you're an imbecile and have an interaction with a crotchety old white man then please feel free to shop here. read more

We stopped by this antique shop recently and were shocked to find multiple Black-faced dolls openly displayed for sale. These weren't presented as historical artifacts with any context or education.. just casually placed among other items, as if there were nothing offensive about them. It's deeply disappointing (and ironic) that a white store owner would choose to profit from racist imagery instead of acknowledging its painful history. These kinds of pieces belong in a Black history museum, where they can be used to educate and preserve history... not sold for profit or novelty. We left feeling uncomfortable and disheartened. I hope the owner takes responsibility and reconsiders what message their inventory sends to the community. read more

I visited Bainbridge Island for the first time yesterday, beautiful island with very quirky shops. We stumbled upon the antique store, after we turned a corner from one of the main streets. We walked inside and were instantly greeted by two very cute birdies, one named Charlie and the other Mangito. The organization in this shop was stunning! Every crevice filled with antiques. Similar to many prior visitors my friend, husband and myself were encouraged to play with a slot machine in a corner of the shop. We were handed quarters to play with and got a good laugh. The experience was enhanced thanks to the gentleman that helped us (I theorize he is the owner). He is not your average Joe, clearly a man with a very nuanced personality! Which was absolutely enjoyable. I only express this take on his personality because I fear he might be misunderstood by prior visitors. This place is filled with thousands of items, each with its own special story that led to it ending up at Pastiche Antiques. I encourage anyone visiting to respect the store, the items and the workers. To finish out my review I'd love to thank the owner for giving my husband a great deal on a portrait he bought! What a great price for a beautiful piece. We hope to visit again one day. read more

If I could I would give this place a -10 star review. The owner an old white man is rude passive aggressive and mean. I went in to look and found something that I thought was very interesting and he told me the price, after some time of thinking about the item I said " may I ask you a question? Is the price firm?" He then responds "well since you asked it's not for sale anymore" in a rude tone that I was like are you serious or joking? He then decided to get even nastier with me and say other rude things to me even though I was nothing but polite and told me that standing there wasn't going to change anything and to get out. I was so caught off guard and disrespected in front of other patrons there that they even looked at me shocked that he could say such things. WOW! What an experience! On a visit to the island, I came to this store with a friend based on a recommendation from another friend. She said that we absolutely had to meet the owner of the shop. That he was super interesting and would give us a quarter to play in a vintage slot machine. Unfortunately, when we got there, the owner was not at the shop. We enjoyed looking around at all the finds and my friend happened upon a jewelry case. Among the many glittering baubles in the case, a ruby ring jumped out at me. It was a stunner - but something I needed to think about. We continued to browse and about 15 minutes later, a gentleman walked up to us and asked if we wanted a quarter to play a vintage slot machine. We asked if he was the owner and he said yes he was and we told him that we came in to meet him today. We started chatting and he began telling us about some of the items in his shop. He literally knows the backstory on every item and can tell you the family, the date, and interesting stories around each piece. I mentioned that I was looking at the ruby ring and he told me that it came from the Armour (meat) family. He then went on to show me other pieces from the estate which were dated back to the early 1900's - engraved Tiffany baby plates, engraved flatware, bunches of amazing things. The stories he told about the previous owner of the ring were amazing and absolutely sealed the deal. Denis, the owner, is fascinating and has truly amazing items in his shop that are all researched and come with great historical detail. Can't recommend a visit enough. It's truly a treasure of a shop. But hopefully you will have the opportunity to meet Denis - who makes the visit an incredibly memorable experience. read more

Wow I have never had a worse experience in a store before. I was very excited to enter and see a beautiful selection of things. So beautiful that I held up my camera to take a photo of the light on the ceiling. The owner, who was speaking loudly to another person on the couches, immediately began to scream at me and say "excuse me! That is incredibly rude". I looked at him in confusion and said "oh I'm so sorry. I wasn't taking a photo of you, I'm just taking a picture of the light but I'll put my camera away!". He said "I don't care! leave the store immediately. LEAVE" and did not give me a chance to apologize. No signs were on the door or in the store to not take photos. I would have happily not taken a photo and continued looking around the store (and bought something) but he did not give me a second chance and yelled at me until I left. Although this is a beautiful store, it is not worth it unless you want to be yelled at :)) read more

Coming in, I was a bit intimidated, but soon you will realize there is so much stuff to look at. The selection of items was amazing, every room you look in, there will be something you have never seen before, or something that will catch your eye. The owner may come off as dismissive at first, but in reality after talking to him you will come to realize he is quite funny and has lots of information to help you with your shopping experience. If you are looking for something in particular he was more than willing to help out. I was able to find some very nice rings for a very good price. There is a new shop worker as well, and despite being new he was more than willing to help and was learning from the shop owner. Overall a great place to visit whether buying or just window shopping, I recommend making the trip here if you're a tourist like I am. read more

Stopped by Pastiche Antiques during a recent outing to Bainbridge Island and it didn't disappoint. They have relics from all different time periods, and there's no shortage of things to look at and explore. Be sure to give yourself some extra time as there's quite a few rooms and easy to miss something if you're not paying attention. I liked that the owners were there if you had questions, but let you browse at your own speed. A lot of locals kept going in to have conversations, so that means they know their community and the residents seem to love them. They have their own lot, so there's plenty of parking, and when you're done, there's a cool little museum with a park next door if you just want to hang out a little longer. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and looking for something cool to do! read more

Studies show that if people are pleased with a store, they tell an average of one person.  If they are displeased, they tell an average of 7. The owner of this store deserves any negative buzz that flies around Bainbridge Island, as he is UNBELIEVABLY, shockingly antagonistic and arrogant. I find hard to believe that anyone like that could possibly remain in business, especially in such an intimate community, or that he could possibly get along with anyone.   Soon after I walked into his store, I mentioned to the owner that I had lost five people to Covid-19 recently, so he knew that I was in a fragile state of mind.  Then again, he appeared to be so dense that perhaps he did not understand that.  More likely, he is an immature person who just doesn't care how anyone else feels.   I considered four items in this store, but put back three because I felt one was too expensive, and the other two lacked price tags. Note to owner: Customers are skittish when antique items lack price tags, as we assume no research has been done on the pieces. After having asked for a price on one of the two untagged items, the owner quoted me $20. Only then did I notice a tag on it for $7.50.  This experience led me to mistrust the owner, as I questioned the fairness of the price he had just given me verbally.   I gave back to the salesperson all the merchandise I then decided against. As I was pulling out my credit card to buy the fourth item, the owner turned to me and said, "I just have to say that you are an incredibly annoying customer.  You think you know everything, but you don't."   I responded by putting my card away, buying nothing, picking up my belongings to leave, and saying, "I won't be returning." He yelled back, "GOOD!," loudly enough for the six or eight other people in the store to hear.  The owner appeared to be at least 60, but he acted like he was five. The owner's dog is no better.  I looked down at him and said hello when I approached the counter to buy the fourth item -- he responded by growling and barking.  I did not attempt to touch him.  I said, "He just wants to be a baby," to which the owner responded, "No, he just wants to be left alone." Well, I hopped on to leave my review and just saw some of the other reviews and I'm stunned! My experience was completely different. We swung by this place on our way to the main strip of shops. I love antique stores so I was really excited to see this place. The store is filled with all kinds of historic goodies. From jewelry to furniture, there's a great selection. The highlight of our visit is chatting it up with the owner, Dennis. My sister really enjoyed talking to him about vintage jewelry, gardening, among other things. He even sent me home with some poppy seeds to try and grow my own after I commented on the dried ones throughout the store (thank you !!!). I'm not a local but I will definitely stop by during future visits. read more

While you shouldn't BUY anything from this store, you DEFINITELY should visit for the experience. The owner is so rude it's HILARIOUS! My cousin tried to haggle with the owner for a geode, and he went NUTS! It was so extreme, we thought he was joking and started to play along: "$100" "Will you take 80?" "120" My cousin laughs, "60" "No. I'm serious. $120. You lost it. Cause that's how I roll!" My cousin tried to be kind and smooth things over, but the guy was committed to making things awkward. I just regret I didn't start RECORDING, but my phone was down to single digits. "You lost it. That's how I roll." Is now a family tag line for us. HILARIOUS!!! We have decided to visit every time we come to Seattle and haggle with his for something. I have read the other reviews. Apparently, it is a predictable response. He hates haggling (even though it's a well known cultural norm in antiques shops all over America). Thus, he is now an official "attraction" of Seattle. Free, too, as long as you're going to Bainbridge. Someone. needs to get in there with a tiktok ready to film and haggle with him. He is just UNREAL. Check the other reviews if you don't believe me. I absolutely love this shop! The owner is helpful, funny, knowledgeable, and puts up with no bs. The shop is full of treasures. This isn't your average junk antique shop. The jewelry selection is always tops, the furniture never disappoints, and everything else you can imagine is hidden around. The items are always reasonably priced. I'm constantly scoring great finds for my home there. It's my favorite place on the island. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone one the island. read more

I have been to Pastiche quite a few times during my time on the island and have even sent them business from time to time when someone asked after an antique store on the island. This will not be happening again after what I witnessed today. I was pulling up in front of their shop today across the street, and I witnessed them verbally attacking a young woman who was parking her car in their lot. The owner immediately began yelling and intimidating her, while she profusely apologized, seemingly citing a misunderstanding, and got back in her car as soon as he complained, but he continued to berate her. I understand needing to protect reserved parking spaces, but there were no other cars in the lot and the attack on this young woman was beyond the pale. I stayed by my car for a moment stunned. After many years on this island and occasional visits, I have seen enough to know that their rude business is the standard. After seeing them accuse a trans woman of stealing just for having an open tote bag and being told that an item I was interested in was being picked up only to be told the same lie three weeks later, this was the final straw for me. All in all, it's just not consistently pleasant to be there. They will base their treatment of you on their own assumptions of your appearance and character. My favorite Antique store in Seattle! One of the things that attracts me to vintage and antique things is they have stories, and even if I don't know the stories, I make them up. The store offers finer American and European antiques, jewelry, and selected collector furniture. The collection is a bit cluttered, but it is constantly changing and the density adds to the adventure of shopping. They also do some estate work, so new items can arrive in groups. It can be helpful to tell the owner what your looking for, and he will instantly tell you what he has, and direct you to its location. The owner may be a tad eccentric, but he has been in the antique business for 50+ years, and is a treasure trove of knowledge, all of which has proven accurate. Mine is the opinion of a customer who has bought many items, large and small, in the past several years. read more

Our party comprised of 3 women and 1 man (the guy is the football watching kind of guy) and all 4 of us has an incredible visit to this store. It was filled with high quality and gorgeous items. One of the nicest and most immaculate antiques stores I have ever been to (and I've been to plenty!). We were primarily browsing and out of curiosity asked a few questions about several of the items. They were all answered by Dennis (who I imagine is the owner) and done so with expertise and veracity. We liked him a lot! The owner alone has me never willing to return. In response to other reviews on his bad attitude, he claimed that during this stressful and scary time, "not everyone can be pleased". I have had numerous interactions with the owner of this antique shop within the last few years... his mean and disrespectful personality is certainly NOT new and certainly not due to the current pandemic many of us are struggling through. When confronting him, he claims to be sharing his "honesty" when verbally harassing you in his parking lot for everyone to hear. Visited today in this antique store. Prices too high for the glass I was looking for. The owner is very unhappy and rude person. What I heard from him and what I read from other people I understand that harassment is common thing for him. I already held a credit card in my hand and wanted to pay $410 plus tax, however because of his bad behavior and how he talked to me I decided to leave his store and not to buy anything from that slob and drama person. I am glad I didn't buy form him; doing some researches at home I believe that the crystal bawl I wanted to buy is fake. And the price for such a bowl was to good to be true.
