Some vintage/antique vendors bringing REAL antiques, particularly of the funky and unique type. (Hello to my new super artsy, unique, and awesome wall cabinet for 40 bux!) Tucked away in the Ravenna neighborhood district of Seattle, Mudlark Oddities is chock full of…read moreartifacts and antiques of the macabre. There's Otto, a skeleton dated from at least the 1870s, a ton of taxidermy, porcupine quills, apothecary jars, a bunch of taxidermied animals, and so many other interesting curiosities to look at. While the vast majority of items are for sale, I would honestly call Mudlark Oddities more of a museum than anything. Many of us do not have the space nor the correct temperature and humidity to store taxidermied specimens. As much as I wanted to purchase the horseshoe crab skeleton, it was super fragile, and unless we had a spare box, I had no way of safely transporting it in our car. We spent at least a half hour in the store perusing all the cool pieces of history, and I took a ton of pictures to commemorate our visit. The staff were friendly, and I ended up getting a small metal bird-shaped bejeweled trinket holder as well as a few stickers. I'd love to visit Mudlark Oddities again the next time we're in Seattle! What a unique place!
