This place, further away from the touristy side, was a gem. From the moment I walked in, the alluring sight of the assortment of pastries and breads were a feast for the eyes.
I noticed that because it was further from the main hubs of tourism, that it was mostly locals. That's always nice to know that it isn't a trap, and the quality reflected it.
Being in Sintra, I had to get the pastry the town was known for. It was really really good. It wasn't tough and wasn't too sweet. The filling was just great. After having tried multiple travasseiros since, my favorite definitely came from Gregorio.
I got another pastry, filled with cheese and more. Every bit of it was delicious.
The pastries are baked great, and the filling was just as good. They were some of my favorite I had throughout my most recent journey to Portugal.
The staff was great too, so all around great experience. The decor was pleasant and they had some cool and unique things, like correspondence from a bakery in Japan talking about Portuguese/Japanese goods. read more
