I've been here twice. I enjoyed my food. But on my second visit here, I placed my order through DoorDash as a pick up. When I walked into the restaurant to pick up my food. I came through the door and a non melanated person comes in after me...I walked up to the counter and the person behind the counter (who SAW me walk in first) goes straight to the non melanated person first (who came in after me) and helps them...once that non melanated customer leaves the person behind the counter then turns and walks back to the stove and starts vigorously stirring the pot as if he doesn't see me standing there. I'm left waiting there until the trainee goes to the back and gets someone else who was VERY pleasant and helpful. I was about to put this establishment on my " Non-Melanated Do NOT Disturb or Give Them my Money" List!!!! Because first of all Sir...I came in first and I was the first one at the counter. You saw me come in first...you looked right past me and didn't make any eye contact. If I hadn't pre ordered and paid my food I would have walked out. And honestly I'm not one of those people who makes everything about skin color but this was obvious! He could have EASILY said..."someone will be with you shortly", or even "HELLO" ...if it wasn't for the guy who came out from the back, who may have been a manager I would have given a one star but I didn't run into this guy the first time and the food is good and taste fresh. If you like salty pasta, then Pasta Project is the place for you. I read the reviews and got excited about the above average ratings, especially since I had never been to this location in Five Forks. Even though the restaurant looked clean, I was deeply disappointed with the food. The pasta was so salty that it was inedible. The kids and I couldn't even eat the breadsticks without having to chase every bite with our fountain drink. I highly encourage the owner to stop in sometime and try the food for themselves. I'm not sure the staff understand that when you add extra portions of parmesan (which was a good thought in theory) to over seasoned pasta sauce, it becomes way too much. I do like this place a lot. The food portions are really good and I like that you don't have to wait that long for food. One time I got a BYO bowl and I added shrimp and my shrimp was very undercooked and gray. The food was to go so I didn't notice it til I got home and I ended up having to cook it myself. Definitely do NOT recommend this place at all. I was scrolling through TikTok and that is how I came about finding this place. The restaurant looked good judging off the video the content creator posted when she was showing off her pasta dish she had ordered. Upon going there, I had High hopes of actually coming close to a place that would have amazing specialty pasta dishes available that I could either order or create. The parking lot was fairly empty, and it seemed like it was the only place that was up & running in that plaza. It had the atmosphere of a pizza place type restaurant when walking in but had a very small menu only offering obviously pasta and the only other healthy alternative such as salad for people who weren't interested in pasta. I decided to create my own pasta and chose to go with Penne' w/ Garlic Butter & Pesto Sauce which I received an additional $1.99 upcharge for because I chose more than 1 sauce, my choice of protein was Chicken which seem like a great combination at the time but when receiving my order, the appearance looked extremely soupy. I was extremely hungry and excited to try this dish they were able to create and it looked good but after about 3 minutes of eating it as I was starting to realize how much sauce was actually in the bowl, I started getting disgusted and I stopped eating it as everything was just completely smothered in Garlic Butter/Pesto Sauce. At one point I was able to move all the Chicken & Penne" to the side to see just all the sauce piled up around the bowl I'd say at least an 1 inch high from the bottom of the bowl. I came from New York down here and I know what is the most important thing that makes up a great pasta dish and for all who don't know what it is clearly, it's the Sauce if anyone wants to know but this place took that meaning to a seriously gross level as what should've been a pasta dish into an absolute saucy soup dish. I ordered the rigatoni vodka with meatballs and a half of garlic bread to go for the first time visiting. The space was clean, modern with decor, and quick service. My to-go order was piping hot when I got home and the pasta was delicious. The bread was flavorful, but I wanted a crispier bottom initially, but it soaked up the sauce perfectly. Portions of half of the garlic bread was 4 pieces and the portion of the pasta was enough to have a serving at dinner with the remainder for lunch the next day. I love this place! I've built my own pasta each time I've been, getting things like alfredo sauce, grilled chicken, broccoli, and garlic... and it's SO GOOD! The pasta is also served in recyclable AND reusable containers! I've kept mine because I'm a broke college student lol. Was always hesitant of trying Pasta Project; but we wanted to give it a chance. We walked in with the intention of just trying a few things we normally wouldn't make at home. So we ordered the Chicken Carbonara which was a little on the oily side (prob just needed to drain the bacon a bit more) but the chicken was well seasoned and delicious. We also ordered the Chicken Rigatoni Ala Vodka. This was perfect. The vodka sauce was creamy and a perfect amount. The chicken again delicious. There's something about their chicken that's just simple and delicious. We also ordered some extra breadsticks and alfredo for dipping (so we could try it out). If your up for trying a third sauce this is a good trick; and well worth it as it's a solid alfredo. Not too heavy and not overly cheese flavored. They had two drinks that I highly recommend - the Hibiscus Lemon Refresher which is my new favorite drink and the Lemon Cayenne Reset (my wife liked this one; it wasn't for me). I'm leaving this at a strong 4 stars and it's only because of two things: 1. The Carbonara was a little oily - and again i think it was just a product of the bacon not being drained enough 2. The wait. We didn't mind the wait - but they definitely were getting slammed and if you're in a rush - you may get upset. They make these pasta dishes to order and they're fresh and hot - so be patient. We'll definitely be coming back with the kids to try some more off the menu and create some dishes ourselves as well! read more

Good pasta! Very hot. My wife got the spaghetti with marinara. It was very good. I got the penne with Italian sausage. Being from up north, I assumed it would be chunky pieces of the sausage link. The staff was very kind and patient as we tried to figure out what we wanted. My daughter went with the kids spaghetti and meatballs. My husband ordered the spaghetti bolognese with sausage added. I ordered fettuccini Alfredo with sausage. We each got a hibiscus drink and a full order of garlic bread. We sat at the counter and enjoyed watching the chefs at work. Plenty of pastas, sauces, topping, and protein options. Personally, Alfredo knocked it out the park for me! Portions are quite large too. The team was extremely friendly and the owner made it a point to greet every customer as they and wish them a good night as they exited. Plenty of seating available and didn't feel cramped. While I've noticed the place on quite a few FB groups and knew it was a crazy couple weeks after opening, we gave it some time. I know it is fresh because you can see them making it. But I do not believe they are using a good flower for their pasta. It was not al dente. The food was just served in a plastic bowl. It is a just a plain Jane pasta place. I have had better at Capris Italian, and that is saying a lot. If your name consists pasta it should master it. This was my second visit. The first was near their grand opening and the I received my food an hour late, but the food was delicious and, hey, they were still working out the kinks. Corporate hasn't done local franchisees any favors with their websites. They use different names for identical items in their menu and in the online ordering pages. My wife couldn't complete our order online as the site would t let her complete the order. She called the Scuffletown location (I double checked the number on their Facebook page, though this number differs from the website). I ate off mine for about 3 meals. Definitely worth the money. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere was nice as well as very clean! There are lots of options for salads or pasta. They have some pastas already listed but I recommend the build your own. You pick your noodles, sauce, protein and 3 toppings. You can add more toppings for .50 cents each. We will be back! I ordered a pesto bowl and it was completely swimming in oil. I don't mean, they accidentally added too much... there had to be a half cup of oil in my dish (or more) and it was separating from the actual sauce. I did say something and swapped it out for spaghetti and meatballs, but even this dish was very watery and the meatballs themselves are tasted prepackaged and not fresh.
