I always enjoy Pasta Cafe. It's just a few blocks away for me - so I enjoy the pleasant stroll. The bar staff and managers are so friendly. When I sit at the bar I can always find some friendly conversation. I enjoy the manicotti the best. But also pizza and most dishes. Drinks are great, beer is cold and now they have Guinness on tap! Two Foodies from Houston on a Roswell, New Mexico winter break road trip. On our first night, we decided to explore Italian food so we picked Pasta Cafe located near our hotel. The outside and inside are well maintained and have an Italian style. Ideal place for date night. Wait staff and hostess were both professional and friendly. Our waitress had an amazing personality and helped us pick two dishes. Bread basket was brought to the table. As a bread lover, I was not too happy with the quality and baking style of the bread. We ordered Lobster Ravioli and Chicken Piccata. While the dishes were not seasoned to what I am accustomed to, they did the trick for two hungry tourists. Nice establishment across the street from the Fairfield where we were staying. The food was superb and the service excellent. Interesting indoor ambiance will transport you from Roswell to Italy. We ate appetizers and took a pizza to go. My wife had the Ahi Tuna, and I tasted it - really good. I had the Steamed Little Neck Clams and they were also excellent. The pizza was a little bland which surprised me. We enjoyed seeing all the young people dressed up for prom night and the cowboys (not sure if they were real of just dressed as one) with huge, brimmed hats. We had a delicious dinner here on our last night in Roswell. The place was warm and cozy and the staff very personable. My husband and I both had the Green Chili Chicken Alfredo. A nice blend of Italian pasta and Mexican seasonings. And it was spicy. A friend of mine had the Veal Parmesan, which was a huge serving. But it was not the size, the flavor was great and it was perfectly cooked, avoiding the chewy veal you get sometimes. I did enjoyed the bread and the garlic knots. But they weren't the highlight. Only real negative was the Caesar side salads, which were flavorful enough, but not that of fresh ingredients. Highly recommend if you are in the area. read more

Our group had about 10 people, which I know can be a challenge for any server, but they handled it well. Service was efficient, and everything came out at a good pace. While I didn't personally order appetizers, we had a sampler platter for the table with fried calamari, fried mozzarella, and something else that I can't quite recall, but it was well received by everyone. For drinks, I went with a tall pecan beer, something I'd never tried before. The server didn't know much about it, so it was a bit of a gamble, but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was terrible. We sat at the bar. Bartender was super sweet and made good drinks. Lovely ambience, staff seemed professional, very adult atmosphere. I ordered the porcini ribeye and the wife got the green chile filet. Look... maybe it's my own fault for going to a pasta place and not ordering pasta, but the food was awful. Low quality ingredients. The ribeye was very thin and not trimmed properly so every bite was white fat and gristle. There were no actual mushrooms on the steak although the menu said there should be. The mashed potatoes were fake, super processed out of a box. And they only give you a little ice cream scoop of them. The veggies were undercooked and under seasoned. And they were cold. Of our two plates the only thing that got eaten was the filet and it was mediocre. I had a drink and the wife had two. We split a salad and each got a steak. The bill came out to a hundred dollars. I only ate a couple bites of the steak, a bite of mashed potatoes, and a couple pieces of the veggies. I left hungry. I had to come home and make dinner for us. When the bartender came to collect our plates and saw that most of the food was still on the plates, she asked if we didn't enjoy our dinners. In a friendly way, I told her the food quality was not good and nothing on the plate was really edible. She was clearly embarrassed, but not surprised. I was in town for a training and was craving Italian. This place was a short distance from my hotel. The service and ambiance were great! They have a bar area booths and tables. While I usually am a bar girl, I asked to be seated in a booth. The decor was cozy and warm. The waiter was attentive and kind. The food hit the spot! I ordered an appetizer and the green chili pasta which is one of their most popular dishes according to the waiter. By the time my food came I was full from my appetizer and the bread with the delicious dipping. But I did taste it and it was perfection! I certainly hope it tastes the same reheated. read more

The decor is Italian. It's dark and cozy. The service was fine. They were a bit slow to get started. There was nothing wrong, just ok. The food was good but not great. The pizza was pretty good. The sliced meatballs were very tasty and the crust was cooked properly. The manicotti was good but didn't have enough sauce. There was a lot of cheese on the pizza and manicotti. My son had the spaghetti and sausage. It was good and the sausage had a lot of flavor. The garlic knots were very good. They had a lot of flavor. The oil and vinegar dipping sauce was ok. The Pasta Café offers good service and tasty food, including a few menu items with local influence (such as manicotti with Hatch-chile sauce). We were the only ones seated on the patio, and the bartender did a good job of keeping our area serviced despite a busy evening. The whole restaurant is on a slope, and the patio has a privacy wall, so the roadway vanishes altogether. A nice place to relax after a busy day of walking to tourist stops. read more

Easy to find right in the main drag. The place was really nice inside, big and open. It has a full bar. The booths have embroidered wine bottles on them, which was a nice touch. The decor is simple and classy. The staff was really good and attentive. They provided recommendations which seemed to be honest. The food was good. The bread that is provided is delicious and the desert was also good. It would be a great date spot or like in our case, a nice place to fuel up from driving and sightseeing all day. read more

I visited here with three co-workers on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 12:30 PM. The restaurant had quite a few patrons inside. Our waitress, named Zoee, assured me that they had not run out of meatballs. This actually happened when I visited an Italian restaurant in Santa Fe named Piccolino (see my review). I ordered the spaghetti and meatball off the discounted lunch menu for $8.99. This dish came with basil, parmesan, and tomato sauce, and a homemade meatball. It took about 15 minutes for our food to be delivered. Spaghetti had been cooked al dente, and the sauce tasted great with the amped up basil. I was slightly disappointed that the ONE meatball in the middle of my spaghetti mound was so small. I did like the mob themed pizzas on their menu and the Italian proverb posted by the front door. The inside of the restaurant was clean and dimly lit. My three co-workers loved their dishes, with the calzone looking especially large and delicious. Ordered online the New Mexico Green Chile Alfredo (the one without the asparagus) and a side caesar. Food was ready super fast and pickup was very smooth. I thought the pasta was lovely and was surprised when I got back to my hotel to see that they included several bread knots and a mini french bread loaf. The only downside was that there was no dressing included with my caesar, and since I was in a hotel, I couldn't eat it. I would definitely return and try more of the menu items. We've been seeing this place for months now and since everything else was closed (Sunday), we called to make sure it was open as it still looks closed. Going to say everything was wonderful from the time we walked in to when we left. We were greeted right away by Jesse, who was very nice. He turned out not to be our waiter, but a lady from across the street at the Cattle Baron was helping out. We started out w apps of calamari and mushrooms. Both were very tasty. Dinner was chicken Marsala and a green chili creamy chicken something. The Marsala was just delicious! Not many places get the sauce right, but this one was wonderful. The chicken was tender and juicy. Normally chicken is over cooked and dry. Not today. The green chili chicken dish was full of flavor and had a tad bit of a kick to it. Pretty good Italian food in Roswell, NM. I got the lobster ravioli and it had all the trimmings I could ask for. It was very flavorful and good quality. I asked for a pure tomato swap vs. cream (dairy issue) and they were accommodating. The foods got a lot of garlic if that's something for you to note. We were in the Roswell area for the day and happened to Yelp dinner options on our way back out of town. We were surprised to see the Italian Restaurant nearby. We were seated around 4pm on a Sunday I'm assuming right before the dinner rush. Our 5 year old loved the coloring sheet and crayons also having the paper table cloth to doodle art on. The menu has a lot to offer. The wine menu does not disappoint and has a lot of different options from Italy. We started with mozzaluna for our appetizer and served garlic knots and bread with dipping oil. We ordered spaghetti and meatballs and also manicotti with marinara sauce. Our son enjoyed a cheese pizza. Dessert was also amazing. After living in Italy for 3 years we were quite surprised of the quality and freshness of ingredients. Can't forget the service was great. My friend and I were in the area and came across this restaurant. We were very happy to come across an Italian restaurant when we have none in the area we live in and those in the bigger cities like ABQ are always overpriced and not very good. We walked in and the entire place was very nice. It was hot so no one was seated outside, but I'm sure it's lovely when the weather allows. We had the friendliest waitress and staff. We started with the Mozzaluna, which is similar to mozzarella sticks but flat. They were good. However, we both proceeded to order basically 3 meals each because we were so excited by the menu. I had the classic spaghetti and meatballs, which were good. I also had the ravioli enchiladas, which was an item they designed and placed a New Mexico twist on. It was interesting and surprisingly good. I ordered a calzone to go for a friend of mine and he enjoyed it as well. I was so stuffed that I didn't make it to dessert. I will definitely have to return when I'm in town again. The staff, food, and environment were all incredible.
