Opened in 1980 Past Perfect Consignment is one of the oldest consignment stores in the area. For the past 40 years they have been serving customers all over the United States. They will ship anywhere in the U.S. They carry unique, high end, gently used furniture as well as lighting, sculptures, designer decor, and fine art. Styles include vintage, classic, contemporary, and retro designs. Here you will mid century modern, traditional, contemporary, vintage, and Rocco home furnishings. Designer names include Baker, Henredon, Maitland Smith, Murano, Saporiti, Milo Baughman and Pace. I recently visited their 11,000 square foot showroom and was impressed with the eclectic inventory. Items that peaked my interest included a giant American flag made out of plastic toys, lucite chairs, a bed that was so high off the floor you would need stairs to get to it, and mosaic Chinese dragons. Prices are not cheap but the items are one of a kind. The items are sold here on consignment and they are willing to work with you on the price. Each time we go to Past Perfect we find something we like. We have bought a number of items that I feel have enhanced the beauty of our home. In the past few years we have purchased a set of 3 rosewood and chrome barstools. They are lovely and comfortable. A bonus, they have hydronic height adjustments, so can be used at bar or table height or anywhere in between. We bought 2 high-end designer Pace display cabinets, that enhance the decor of our living room and dining room, as well as brining out the beauty of the collections enclosed within them. When needing extra seating in the living room, we found a little bench that just is perfect! We are now looking for a specific new/old piece, and this store will be our first stop! read more

New to the area, I had to check out some of the thrift stores. In this case, the nearby consignment shop. My daughter and I wandered in off the street with no idea what to expect, except a break from the blast of noon time Florida heat. Inside we happy to find not just great AC, but a wild assortment of furniture. There was leather, gilded chairs, huge glass tables, and tiki masks. I had no needs for my place right now, furniture wise. But a buddy from work had been looking for a couple of chairs for his pool room so we set out to find options for him. Surprisingly there were many many choices. We found island themed chairs, Italian leather chairs and some ultra modern ideas as well. In the far back we actually found billiards chairs. They were designed with a cutout that you could even put your pool stick in! We took pictures and notes and passed them on to my friend. The prices were higher than yo would think but the quality was there as well. I'm glad we stopped on. I'm sure we will again, especially if it's a hot day! read more

This is the first review I have ever written, but needed to warn potential customers that they do not pay. The contract says monthly, but I needed to call every month. Most of the time, my calls and e-mails were never returned. I paid 400.00 to have my entire home delivered to the store, but Jennifer kept saying with covid things were slow. I have been i n the store and nearly all of my items are sold, but no check. Do not trust them with your designer furniture. read more

In the past I have purchased and sold items through this store. I am redecorating and faced long waits for furniture orders during the pandemic so I decided to pay them a visit. Glad I did they have seriously upgraded the quality of their merchandise and the arrangements are thoughtful instead of thrown together. Love my new paletek counter stools! read more

Rose the sales lady was really nice. We were about to purchase an untagged chair even though the owner tagged it at $500 more after seeing our interest. However, hearing the owner loudly berate Rose about the pricing was cringe and a huge turn off. Not going back. read more

Can't really say I had a bad experience. Based on the mediocre to not great reviews I thought I would give them a call first before bringing in my items. Didn't bother going in to shop or leave my items after the phone conversation. Plenty of others to choose from, and I found a good one down the street. read more

Medium sized shop, with a warehouse 1 mile away, filled with 50% forgettable and 50% excellent larger pieces of vintage furniture, though few true antiques. I've noticed that salespeople either do not listen to specific details when they ask what you might be looking for, or they simply do not know periods (we asked if they had any antique French wooden desks, and the salesperson showed us a mirror covered 1930's American deco vanity), and they sort of trail around behind you in a strangely awkward manner, but they are not high-pressure in any way, and state they are willing to negotiate prices (by how much, we have yet to explore). The really nice pieces are scattered, but exist (a Chinese apothecary cabinet, an Indian marionette); we'll return. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! NEVER CONSIGN WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!! They will never call you if your consigned piece sells. You have to literally barge in and ask for your money. They do NOT inform you that your piece sold. There are verbal outright fights going on between owner and daughter. All you hear is cursing and screaming in front of customers. read more

Dealt with them twice on selling some of our furniture. First time was about 15 years ago and it went well. But the second time was a nightmare since they told us they didn't have to pay us (even though they sold our items) because we didn't check in with them. Sorry, that's called theft. read more

Horrible service with inflated prices. I asked about the price of a small acrylic coffee table with no tag. My husband over heard the saleswoman being told it was 600.00. After a half hour she finally came over with a tag saying it was 800.00. It was obvious they wanted me out of the shop because they assumed I wasn't rich enough to be there. What a poor policy for a business to have. I found much better service and inventory at Encore in Fort Lauderdale without the inflated prices. read more

This is one of my favorite Go-To store for my home decor! They get fabulous and unique accessories as well as furniture. You can find something for your decorating style. The sales consultants are experienced and knowledgeable about the furniture brands. read more

This store is great, if you know what you are looking for. Different dealers bring in different items, it can be your source for the perfect drawing/painting or table item there. They have a warehouse but I did not find any great art there. read more

Overpriced for what they have and uninformed about basics. Had to ask them 3 times for measurements and each time it was different. Don't let them know your enthusiastic about something...they jack up the price. read more

*********AVOID*******I consigned several Pieces with them. I called and called and called and called. No one ever got back to me. They sat in an empty store and blew me off. Then I was told my things were given away to Good Will because the annual contract was up. I've never heard of such a thing!! They will not reach out to tell you to pick your things up. Nor will they pay you for what did sell unless you become "THE THING THAT WONT GO AWAY" I asked to see invoices to be sure I was given my proper percentage and was refused. Who Knows what they actually sold things for?? I worked in furniture since I was a teen. From Retail to High End. My Grandfather and Father & Mother were in the business. All Retail facets of it. The Owner and His Daughter are the lowest of the low. There is No Market for used furniture because of social media anymore. Past Perfect used to be reputable back in the day, but now they are hurting and are prepared to to lie cheat and steal from people. There is not enough Tea In China for me to walk within 100 feet of the place. Just Wow... If you want to be dishonestly treated and Stolen from by all means it will happen here! Do I have to even give it one Star?? I called this place and got a rude employee. I was asking if they take furniture for consignment and was told "We aren't taking any furniture, we are full"..... not, "I'm sorry at this time we aren't taking furniture..." This is my first time consigning. I have shopped consignment for years, but will never set foot in this store. It's a shame, looks like they may have some cool stuff. read more
