I first sought treatment for a piriformis sciatic nerve issue and a rotator cuff tear. After those conditions improved, I returned following several serious falls that left me with contusions and injuries to my ribs, knees, elbows, shoulder, and back. During each visit, I was greeted with kindness and genuine concern. The office staff often offered me sparkling water, a comfortable place to sit and rest, and encouragement while I waited. When I met with Dr. Shannan, he listened carefully to my concerns and reassured me that there was hope for relief. His knowledge, diagnostic skills, treatment techniques, and compassionate bedside manner demonstrated a commitment to serving others with excellence. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord and acknowledge Him in all our ways, and I truly believe God used Dr. Shannan as an instrument of healing in my life. Today, June 3, despite suffering two difficult falls and multiple contusions, I am able to walk with a walker and continue making progress. Dr. Shannan has worked alongside physical therapists and occupational therapists as part of my recovery process. By God's grace, I have even been able to come off pain medications that I previously relied upon. I am also grateful for the outstanding office staff. Nicole and Jess repeatedly assisted me to my van, helped put away my walker, and safely helped me get in and out of my vehicle while I was recovering. Jayla provided E-Stim treatments that helped soothe sore and injured muscles. Their kindness reflects the servant-hearted spirit found in Galatians 6:2: "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." In addition, the administrative team carefully reviewed my insurance coverage and helped ensure that Medicare and Aetna covered eligible services. Their attention to detail and efficient scheduling made every visit smooth and stress-free. I would like to recognize Dr. Shannan not only for his success in treating my specific injuries, but also for the trust he builds with his patients. He promotes a holistic approach to health and wellness that addresses the whole person and encourages hope during difficult seasons. This is a review that was a long time coming, but in a good way, becasue my recovery was a process…read morethat took nearly a year, and Upper Arlington Family Chiropractic was an instrumental part of my healing process. In early March I suffered a significant sinus infection that migrated to my ears, and, unfortunately, developed a slight tinnitus in my right ear due to the damage of swelling. My primary caregivers and ENT specialists were frankly baffled as nothing intrinsically was wrong, and a later MRI bore that out: whatever did the damage left no tangible trace other than the ringing, and a slight misalignment/wearing of my TMJ. When you fall between the cracks of primary care and specialized medicine's ability to readily heal you, you find yourself bereft of options and of hope. It sucks the life out of you. Nothing that once gave you joy does so any longer. It's a vicious spiral of despair. Especially when no one understands your pain or difficulty. After months and thousands of dollars of 2nd opinions and alternative medicine options, I called UA Family Chiro and they fit me into their schedule. Dr. Schram and his team treated my issue with seriousness and respect, and Dr. Schram's holistic and complete approach to treating not just the issue at hand but the individual experiencing it is a hallmark of how they treat their patients. It was a long process to get to where I am now. I may never fully be back to where I was due to the esoteric nature of how I was injured. But the treatment I received at Upper Arlington Family Chiropractic helped me find myself again. I felt better. Gradually. Especially with shared effort on my part using their guidance and advice.
