It seems odd to review a cemetery...but here goes.
My uncle Scott was killed by a drunk driver on Creston Road while he was riding his bike , it will be 7 years this June. I had not been able to attend his funeral and had always felt that I did not get to say goodbye properly. He is my favorite uncle and it was very important to me to go to his grave. My mother, who had attended the service of her baby brother, could not recall much about the location of the cemetary or anything about where his grave was, other than it was 'by a tree'.
I arrived just after 8 in the morning, the office was open, the bathrooms were open (super addition, by the way! I'd not been to a cemetary with public facilities before!) and the binder that listed the exact location of gravesites was easily viewed and it was extremely simple to find the grave of my uncle.
Not knowing the protocol about gravesites, maybe they don't use an edger when mowing, but it did take me a while to clean the grass that had grown up onto his gravestone. I wished for a garden tool as I worked on it. That is really my only 'complaint' about it. The roadways and buildings within the cemetary appeared to be well cared for, though the buildings are clearly not new, they are in good repair. The markings on the curbs for each section was done very well.
Lovely grounds, generally well maintained, good location on the outskirts of town.
The cemetary is between two roads and the volume of cars was pretty low the entire time I was there. read more
