Another discovery on the Moseley Road - which seems to be full of discoveries.
I used to love Lalehzar Persian restaurant in Hockley and would go quite frequently with colleagues when I worked in the Jewellery Quarter, so when I saw that this was Persian too, I thought I must be on to a good thing.
To a degree, I was. I had a great falafel - I'm a bit of a falafel snob, so I'm always interested in trying different people's falafels. Fortunately, I was not disappointed here - it was fresh and tasty, rather than the tasteless stodge you sometimes get with fast food falafel. The nan bread was amazing - I think they're well-known locally for their great bread. It's not exactly a great dining experience - inside is pretty dingy - but as it's a takeaway I'm guessing the emphasis is rather on fast food rather than a gourmet dining experience...
But in terms of food, it's better than your average kebab shop, let me put it that way. read more
