Some more info about this spot/Place- this spot is on Route 187 between Isla Verde and the Rio Grande. means - if you are planning to Visit Playa Flamenco (which is a Must do- cause it is one of the top beaches in the world) and if you are coming back to San Juan to catch a flight then I would suggest taking this route 187. a couple of reasons for this- 1) Pinones area which is famous for its street/roadside small/decent food joint - you don't wanna miss if you are a foodie 2) Scenic Route 3) You wanna save money on toll skipping Route-66 (no sense paying rental company for its transponder and $10/day)

The beach and water are beautiful. The water was prettier than I expected and very warm, but the surf is choppy. The down side of this beach is many vendors walking to try and sell you their homemade foods (questionable), and everything requires cash only. Be prepared, but don't leave your items or bags on the chairs. Lots of trash left on the beach, even though we were told it was very clean. People smoking pot everywhere, so everywhere you are, you are down wind of it...doesn't make for a pleasant beach experience. Enjoy the views, because that's about all you will enjoy during your visit, although I did eat the best empanada I ever ate at a stand at the entrance of the beach for $3.50. At 4:30, The Beach Boys grab up your shade and lounger so you have to go find another place to sit, or just do yourself a favor and go to Playa Pinones, drive through the food area and just past you will find the most beautiful, private beach areas there and the best food. It's right next to a lighthouse that has a beautiful view of the coast line. I heard an American say, "I love it here, I want to move here! " It made us giggle. It was amazing to see how there's no more parking lot. Hurricane Maria blew so much sand in that all the sand completely covered the parking lot.

The beach next to it is for surfers and it is not safe to swin plus not liveguard at all. The shorter way to walk there is a little dangerus, a lot of roks can end on a bad fall. i find out from one of the locals that if you want to skip the rocks you can walk using an entrance that is on the side of the road and you will end up on the surfers beach and just walk to la poza. i will add a picture where this entrance is locaded.
