Nice enough beach but the other beach I went to in san juan was way better. The water is a little murky so I didn't go in & the beach itself is kind of small so it's not the most exciting but I will never complain about going to any beach with palm trees. I went in the evening around 7 pm and it wasn't busy at all. I think they actually close at 8 so if you are the type that wants to rent a beach chair, make sure you get there before 7 (I tried to get one but the employee said no because they were closing soon). I would recommend just for the fact that its a beach & its near a lot of hotels & attractions.

    Beach area.

Ocean park beach is nice, lots of visitors and locals. Good place for a walk and sometimes enjoy vendors and food trucks. Parking is sometimes hard to find.

This is the typical beach where everyone goes in the metropolitan area in Puerto Rico. It is pet friendly (obviously) and a great place to gather with friends & family. It is street parking like any other beach but on a weekend between 10am-12pm there is no parking! it's the peek when everyone arrives. You can you side to okay beach tennis & volleyball as well (the beach has designated areas for these activities). The waves here are always pretty high so I do not recommend this place for a baby or unattended toddler/kids. Also, the shade is WAY in the back so you need to bring your umbrella because the caribbean sun does not joke around. There re plenty of good places to sat & drink nearby so you'll be fine!

BEAUTIFUL beach with pretty and calm waters, plenty of wind and (best part) not crowded from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on a Sunday! It's deceptively cool because of the wind, and because I wasn't at all hot, I left with a slight sunburn. There were kite boarders in the water getting lessons and I also saw jet skis. The water is that pretty green color in the most shallow areas and bluer as it gets deeper. The sand is fine and not uncomfortable to walk on. My accommodations were a block from the Taft Street entrance, so that was a very convenient walk. For others, you may need to Uber there since there's no real parking to be had.

Went on a Saturday, arriving at 12:00pm and boy was it busy. There's no parking lot, just a lot of tiny narrow streets where you can try to find a spot on the street. That was one difficult task as all spots were taken at this time of day, so the tip here is get there early on a Saturday! We eventually parked in a yellow zone (like many others) and thankfully never got a parking ticket. The beach itself is deep with some nice sand and just a bit of seaweed. There was a place renting beach chairs and umbrellas for the day. Lots of people of all ages were enjoying the sun and all were behaving themselves. The water was warm but very rough so I wasn't going to take a chance swimming in it. No lifeguards are stationed here. I also didn't see any change rooms or bathrooms. On the plus side, it's free.

I have seen my share of beautiful beaches and this one will be added to my top 5. This beach is the main reason why I choose the Airbnb I stood in; because of its proximity to it. Staying five blocks away, I had the privilege of visiting OPB twice a day. Ocean Park Beach is spotless all around, and quiet. Even on fairly packed days, the beach was never loud or dirty. Then again, San Juan is as clean as it gets. This beach is perfect for kite surfers. Not once during my 17-day stay was the water calm enough for me to go in (that and the fact that I am not a swimmer). It was mostly at high tide all the time, and the waves were just insane but I enjoyed it all from my beach chair; where I took plenty of naps while listening to the crashing waves. Do check out this beach if you are staying in La Isla del Encanto! ***Beats Isla Verde Beach when it comes to peace and quiet.

A truly beautiful beach and a really clean beach. The water is really clean and so is the sand. Plenty of tourists and locals populate this beach. There are also plenty of bars, restaurants and stores within walking distance.

I would definitely recommend this beach for anybody. It's very safe, and definitely kid friendly. Me and my boyfriend stayed at an Airbnb apartment less than a block away, and came here almost every day of our stay. Definitely bring your own towels and chairs. There's a boutique hotel that rents out lawn chairs, but it's a little pricey! The beach itself is very clean, and the water is gorgeous!! It's a little rocky in some parts, but not very bad at all, and it's 98% smooth and sandy. Highly recommend!

If you want a beautiful, quiet beach day during your stay in Puerto Rico, visit Ocean Park beach. We walked a little past the beach area in front of the park (like we were making our way to Condado). This beach was nearly empty -- mostly locals enjoying a day in the sun. We parked ourselves in front of Pamela's to use their umbrellas and chairs. (We bought a drink and appetizer to "rent" them). The water was a little choppier here compared to Isla Verde. Nothing dangerous though. The perks of this beach include: - the view - quiet, less touristy - people walking around selling cervezas and agua - cute inns versus huge resorts - no waterskis or wakesurfers

This was a last minute decision to visit this beach as we had an hour to kill before heading to the airport and it was the closest beach to where we had eaten lunch. My only regret is that we didn't have more time to spend here. On this day the waves and water were perfect for playing in. I didn't get in, but I really wanted to! The sand was perfect and there was a mix of shade and sunny spots to please everyone. It was pretty empty midday on a Monday. There were a lot of locals walking their dogs and people bringing their kids after school. Very quiet and a good place to nap or watch the waves.

Not exactly what I expected. It's next to an area marked for demolition. But it's quiet and not too busy.

I was surprised to see the beach was in a not so scenic area. But it's quiet and a nice getaway

It just doesn't get better than this.

This isn't one of those sprawling, endless beaches it's a protected, almost tucked-away cove, shielded by rocks that keep the water calm, clear, and ridiculously inviting. While much of Condado's coastline can get rough with waves, this spot stays mellow, making it perfect for floating, swimming, or just standing there with a drink in hand pretending you've got nowhere else to be. Now let's be honest about the vibe. This place packs out. Locals know it, travelers catch on quick, and before you know it, every inch of sand is claimed like beachfront real estate. You want in? You show up early, you bring your gear, and you guard your spot like it's beachfront gold. Blink, and it's gone. And then there's the unofficial ritual: grab one of those smooth, not-too-strong piña coladas nearby sweet, icy, and easy going. But if you came prepared with a little extra "motivation" tucked away? Well, now you're not just at the beach... you're living right. A little mix, a little sun, and suddenly the whole day hits different. What really seals it is that convenience factor. Being steps away from where you're staying? That's dangerous in the best way. One quick walk turns into an all-day affair, and before long, this little stretch of sand feels like your personal backyard. Playita del Condado isn't trying to be the biggest or the boldest it just quietly delivers one of the best beach days you can have in Puerto Rico. And honestly? That's exactly why it sticks with you.

It's small so make sure you get there very early or else you won't have a place to lay your towel or blanket. It's also nice to come at night and enjoy the views of the businesses across the water and listen to the waves. Bonus tip, bring cocktails for added pleasure. FYI: The Piña Coladas they sell here are very expensive and low in alcohol compared to most places on the island but it is nice to have one in a pineapple while enjoying the beach and water. BTW: bring everything you need to enjoy a nice day here because it's one of the most amazing spots on the island and if you leave you'll lose your spot. I miss you Puerto Rico!!! Enjoy a Piña Colada for me ;)

Not the best spot but we still had a good time. Because the beach is near the airport you'll get to see and take pics of planes taking off. On the far right of the balneario is a grassy area. There is plenty of space there if you want to fly a kite, throw around a football or frisbee, or even play some soccer. There is also a giant colorful elephant statue. I like that this beach has lifeguards. I also like there are efforts made to keep people for drinking from glass bottles on the beach. Nothing worse than broken glass hidden in the sand. There were officers patrolling the the beach and they are nice about it. Instead of dishing out fines, they'll ask you to put the bottles away. One of the officers was extra cool and let our kid get on the 4 track for some pictures. As for food, we brought our own so I didn't venture off to look for kiosks but I'm sure they were around. At least the water park has a snack bar.
