It's not often that one has the opportunity to comment about somebody (Dr. "SIVA") who saved your life. I recently celebrated my first anniversary of undergoing open heart surgery for replacement of my aortic valve. I wouldn't be here on earth today had it not been for the extraordinary competence, diligence, and caring of Dr. Satish Sivasankaran (Dr. "SIVA") and the surgical team he assembled on my behalf. My life and death journey began when my family physician referred me to Dr. Siva after listening to my complaints of shortness of breath. I remember in detail my very first meeting with Dr. Siva. This meeting at his New Port Richey office ("Pasco Cardiology Center") was unique for a number of reasons. First, I was ushered into one of his examination rooms at precisely the designated time of my appointment. While being attended to on time, without waiting, is not a medical issue, it's a huge reflection of professionalism and caring. Dr. Siva entered the room shortly after his nurse had completed my personal medical history and greeted me and my wife as though we'd known each other for years! While Dr. Siva outlined a detailed course of action which included every possible test such as echocardiograms, stress tests, lab tests, X-Rays and finally, a cardiac catheterization performed by Dr. Siva. In addition to this lengthy and uninterrupted medical discussion, Dr. Siva posed a number of personal questions which led to sharing of iPhone photos of family etc. This personal touch was truly unexpected but much appreciated and created a true bond of trust between us. While I (for psychological reasons) elected not to be briefed on all the esoteric details of my condition and the upcoming surgery, my wife of 25 years (who had some medical training) and, upon first hearing of my medical issues, set out like a first year med student to do a massive and detailed study of all of the issues and implications. Dr. Siva, without hesitation, generously offered answers to all of her questions including multiple "What If" questions relating to my condition. His patience and forthrightness with my wife was enormously appreciated and served to assuage much of her fear and anxiety. Dr. Siva was present during my 6+ hours of surgery performed by Dr. N.S. Rattahalli. When I woke up a day later, Dr. Siva was smiling into my eyes and holding my limp hand. During the subsequent week long recovery Dr. Siva visited and kept my wife updated on my condition. A few weeks later I was hospitalized once again with several medical issues and Dr. Siva was again there to support me and my wife. Always cheerful, professional, focused and supportive, I can say without qualification that he is the most professional and competent medical doctor I have ever met. And, it's not just his "medical expertise," but it's his personality, his caring bedside manner, and the essence of a wonderful and great man that truly cares, comforts, and saves lives. Dr. Siva is an excellent choice for a cardiologist in my personal opinion. He has treated me and handled my case for several years and I cannot imagine going anywhere else or to any other Doctor for this condition. He is very personable taking plenty of notes not only about your medical condition but your personal life as well and inquires of my family, my job, and my church each time we visit. I cannot recall ever seeing him frown or appear put out when I see him always has a great big smile and spends all the time I need when I visit. I like Dr. Siva. He doesn't rush through my appoints but he listens to me. He takes time to answers any questions I have. About a year ago, he did a surgical procedure implanting a recording device called a Linq to diagnose my heart problem. It was a good option because he knew immediately what my heart problem was and how to treat it. Recently I fainted and I called his office. I was seen the very next day. This accessibility is important to me and means a lot. His staff is very caring and follow through on whatever is needed immediately. I have been seeing Dr Siva for a few years and I have complete confidence in him and his abilities. He is very attentive and actually listens when you explain your issues to him. He is not only able to diagnose and treat cardiology issues, he was also able to treat me for a problem I was having with dizziness, after I had been to my PCP, and also after she had referred me to several different doctors, to no avail. Dr. Siva found blocked arteries in my legs. For several years the pain in my legs which was severely limiting my ability to walk, was diagnosed as arthritis and a result of aging and no relief was possible except for pain medication. Dr. Siva believed the pain was due to blockages, performed the necessary tests and place stints in both legs. I no longer have any pain in my legs and can walk much better. Dr. Siva also found a 90 per cent blockage in my carotid artery. He placed a stint there, thus decreasing my chance of having a stroke. read more

I have been going to Dr. Siva for a couple of years now. He did my venous ablation procedure. At first I was very scared to have it done.. Once I did it was the best thing I ever die.. My legs used to hurt me so much I couldn't stand for very long.. Now I can stand and do things I couldn't do before. Dr Siva makes you feel so comfortable and he is such a great doctor.. Dr. Siva is amazing My Mom had a rough year (2016) in/out of the hospital. Dr. Siva was actually off with his family and came in to the hospital to see her because I was not comfortable with the hospital doctor. He explains things so that you understand (not using big dr. words). He was great at communicating with my mothers other doctors (she has 8) and myself/husband while she was in hospital. Cardiac Catherization procedures scheduled promptly, two procedures within a week's time. Both successful and incident free.
