I go here because they sell See's Candies. Sometimes I stop by on Fridays to buy my Friday candy here. They also sells tourist stuff like postcards, magnet, "I love LA" stuff, Hollywood trophies and even bathing suits. You can also pick up coupons and brochures for California restaurants or theme parks here. I picked up a bunch of Caliofrnia and Los Angeles brochures and books. I went back to inquire about a good seafood restaurant for lunch within walking distance, and again Cooper was so helpful. He got on his computer and looked up a few places for us. He directed us to one that was just across the street from the visitor center called Water Grill, a bit pricy but good. He really didn't have to go over and beyond like that. I highly recommend visiting both the Chilao Visitor Center and this one, Grassy Hollow Visitor Center. They have some cool taxidermy and other fun things for kids. They have a push button opposites video series about different animals and lift the flap wall information that is easy to miss as it blends into a mural. They have a binocular station on the deck where you can do some amazing bird watching!!! They also have a bunch of free Smoky Bear swag! We even got a frisbee! Both these nature centers provided a ton of fun for our family! Great stop!

This is incorrectly listed as Arcadia, CA. It is located in Wrightwood, CA…read more I did the Inspiration Point hike today via AllTrails and it lead me out this way. I believe this is Section D of the PCT. It's still beautiful even though the Bridge Fire from 2024 burned many of the trees to the ground. There is some shade and the mountain views are absolutely breathtaking. The Grassy Hollow Visitor Center doesn't exist anymore. There was no one there. No ranger station or check-in. The campground is closed. It's now just a place to enjoy a peaceful hike and immerse in nature. I saw cyclers on highway 2, some motorcycles, and lots of people driving fast or racing around the mountain curves. I only encountered one other person on the trail. From what I saw the bathrooms are not functional. There's a sign saying that a parking pass is required but again, there's no ranger station to purchase tickets. Even near the Blue Ridge Trail down the road, the ranger station was closed so I'm not sure. I have an interagency pass that I display on my dashboard in lieu of the Adventure Pass. Make sure you have your first aid kit, hydration and just be careful. There's no cell reception in most of this part of the PCT. Nonetheless, it's beautiful. Enjoy!

I parked across from the address & was steered in every wrong direction by security. The area was blocked off because they were setting up for the Academy awards so I had to walk around to the back & then follow up a detour & be pointed in the wrong direction atleast 10 times. I finally get to the location & the retiree who works there was on the phone, frustrated with the limited english ppl in front of me, beinh ignored by her coworker who was in an office talking either on the phone or to himself. I show her the pass & its on my phone. So thankfully the person with me printed them out bc they only take paper, you have to have your id & sign it. She starts to get the passes, the coworker comes out & is completely lost in thought & starts asking us questions that have been answered, gives us our passes & tries to give us tons of sight seeing papers & acts offended when we decline them. This place was a mess & the staff are unpleasant & definitely not welcoming to a new city. Plus, the pass is a waste of $ bc the attractions are free & there's not enough time with traffic to get to things.

There were so many food vendors, several game booths for both adults and kids to enjoy. The best part of this amazing event was the entertainment on stage. It was wonderful to learn of the different Southeast Asian cultures. We had a great time enjoying the music, the foods, and the performances. We spent the whole day here. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Baldy for the snow, but this year, we decided to come for fall leaves and hiking. First off, we stopped at the visitor center for the parking pass. ($5 parking fee) The lady, who works there, was so informative and helpful showing us where to go, where has a better view point and all those other good suggestions! She even told us this location once was a school back in 1920s, it was also the first school they had in Mt. Baldy! The staff here def made us feel invited! Excellent service!! Some Tips: They have a actual bathroom in the visitor center. It's clean! Or else, there is a public toilet next to the parking lot, close to the entrance of hiking trials. (You can't wash your hands there) There is no WiFi in the mountains, so get yourself prepared for the route first! (Ask a map from them, screen shot your hiking routes!)

A trip to the antelope valley to visit the Poppy Preserve is always a fun relaxing thing to do when…read moreits not too busy. How busy the reserve is, is based on the bloom level and the time you come to the park. To beat the crowd, we visited the reserve when they opened at 7am on a weekday. And you may be treated to a beautiful sunrise at this time. Note, its also good to visit the park early in the morning due to the lack of shade. Unfortunately in 2026, and at the end of March we did not experience a super bloom within the reserve but still beautiful to walk through the reserve and see the various flowers, including the poppy flowers. Plus there are very well manicured trails that circle the park- please stay on the trails and off the flowers. Note it does cost 10 dollars for parking at the reserve. If you have a state park pass, bring it as can be used instead of paying. Note during super blooms and weekends the parking can get super busy. During this time you will find people parking outside of the park. If you do not want to pay to see the blooms in the park, there are plenty of places to view outside of the park. Just check out information online to find where the best blooms are. We actually found the blooms to be better outside of the park in 2026. Lastly, be on the look out for snakes. Three types of snakes are known at this park.

Honestly, this was the best trip ever! Granted we gave Michelle a healthy budget, but honesty, my son will only graduate once from high school, and our pride is abundant. Michelle Keith planned tours, hotels and transportation... which made vacation just that, a vacation, a break from planning our trip myself. We had awesome guides that spoke English and taught us how to navigate the mean subways of Tokyo and Osaka. We had fun sumo show and onsen hotel, with a private onsen (hot tub) taking into account the tattoos which are prohibited by the Japanese ppl- we should have stayed in longer. We had a pirate ship tour of lake Ashi, and gondola ride to the sulfur mountain (smell wasn't nice) view was amazing! We saw shibuya crossing and Harajuku- went to Ginza and Shinjuku- ate inexpensive Wagyu which was so good!!! Sushi, ramen, tonkatsu. Sardines (my son did this- the eyes creeped me out). Hotels are Japanese size (small) so if you have three grown ppl, consider two rooms. As much as I love my son and husband, we needed space from each other. We had the best time and will definitely be booking our next excursion to Europe with Michelle. Michelle suggested other excursions and places, and also days of rest. We averaged about 7 miles of walking a day, so make sure to bring your comfy shoes and hit the road to beauty, and clean everything (subs, streets, and hotels). Kampai!! (Cheers!)

Lori made sure everything was perfect from the car service to the hotel - the flight... (I need to add - I had never traveled thru Heathrow and was a little worried having to change terminals taking a bus... but Lori had everything I needed available on the Pocket Travel app in addition to sending it printed out). The cruise was amazing!! Being that Lori is a seasoned traveler she was able to suggest excursions and helpful hints along the way. I will definitely be traveling a lot more with Lori's help!
