I called this place inquiring about a 3 day loan for $200 and me using a $900 camera as collateral. Over the phone I shared the camera brand and model and what was included with the camera the dude researched the camera he said we could make a deal and told me to come in and do the paperwork. When I arrived I noticed him being rude to one of his customer and displaying a "take it or leave it" attitude. The customer must have been in dire need for money because they begrudgingly turned and walked out as if they were being treated unfair but having no other choice gave up and accepted whatever the guys offered to give. So now it's my turn and the first thing the guy says is "where's the rest of it?" I'm like this is it, it's the body and lens only as we discussed over the phone and he immediately says I know cameras and this is not everything. There wasn't anything else so I didn't even know what to say. The guy immediately says what do I expect from him to do with what I am presenting him? I kindly asked well I provided you clear information regarding the product and the parts, over the phone you stated that you researched and confirmed I could get a 3-day $200 loan. He relies by simply saying "$65 take it or leave it" I couldn't help myself and laughed in his face! This guy totally wasted my time and tried to rip me off by offering my $65 loan on a $900 camera. I can totally understand that this guy is in a position of power to take advantage of people in dire need for cash. I feel terrible for anyone who has ever experienced doing business with this guy and his pawn shop. This guys is an idiot, fuck this guy and his pawn shop. I have been coming to these guys for years now, and I've never been insulted by these guys ever. They've always given me a loan on my items even on a factory made violin with no known makers. I took in 2 Strad copy instruments, very nice, beautiful sounding instruments, and they didn't even let me ask a loan price before the cashier told me, "not interested". He told me that how could I be fooled by the person who i purchased these instruments from? are you kidding me? I've been playing, buying selling and trading violins for 20yrs now. I know when I'm being jerked around, and it was at Pasadena pawn shop. I've seen the old, dusty crap violins they have hanging on their walls. They don't know what they're talking about. This afternoon, I made the unfortunate mistake of walking into the Pasadena Pawn shop. I had my mother's prize silver flatware and some jewelry. I was only there maybe five or ten minutes when, to my dismay, the employee started letting into me about wasting his time and taking too long!!!!!!! How rich! A couple of things made this a difficult and less than awesome experience. When buying a guitar I asked if it came with a case. They said it doesn't. I asked if they had any extra cases around and Moses said depends, a soft case yes, a hard case will cost extra. I said ok. When it came time to pay I said we can find a soft case? And he said it would be $20. I mentioned we said a hardcase would be extra. Then he said no. It was priced at $195 and I asked if they would do $180 and he said no and took the guitar from me and started acting short tempered with me. I asked if he was upset and he said no, I don't get upset, I just understand how some people are. He was trying to throw an insult at me which was ridiculous. I still wanted the guitar and bought it despite my experience with Moses. After I bought it they wouldn't give me a real receipt. They said if I wanted a real receipt I'd have to pay more money of taxes. When you give someone an out the door price it just means that the shop is paying the taxes. But this shop made it seem like they are doing business under the table and not reporting taxes since they won't give me a real receipt with my cash purchase. Shop is clean, dealing with the workers was a bit shady. read more

In short they take stolen property and re-sell stolen property. Our house was burglarized and along with all my jewelry out computer, scanner and printer where stolen. We filed a report with the Pasadena Police. That same afternoon my husband went to the local pawnshops with a photo of our stuff asking if anyone had tried selling it to them earlier that day. Of course everyone told him no. Several weeks later we get a call from the fine detectives at PPD. (Apparently the pawn shops are required to provide the police with copies of all their claim tickets). They had found our computer at Pasadena Pawn Shop. We met the detective there and sure enough it was our stuff. The pawn ticket was time and dated the same morning that we had been burglarized, so was obviously there when my husband went looking. Here's the kicker: WE HAD TO PAY these sleeze bags to get it back. I suspect that the burglar had pawned stuff there before since this was his 3rd strike and because the police recognized is name from the pawn ticket. Just purcashed a cassette deck. It was shown to me in the shop. A cassette was put in. And played - vu meters were moving. But the deck was not hooked to anything do actual sound could not be heard. Got home. Hooked up. All that comes out of the unit is noise. Barely any audio from tapes. Have tried multiple tapes - even the blank leader. Is "played" with same noise as audio tape. Had a negative experience. The heavier set man was pretty short and rude when I asked questions about some watches. To top it off, I asked how much a Bell&Ross by Sinn Watch is that they had in display and he told me $9,000. I was shocked to hear how much he was charging for it when it's all over the net for under $2,500. Either he doesn't know what he's talking about or he is just brushing me off as a customer. I have some leftover items a 18-200vrii nikon lens, prices for $800 new I have two of them wanted to sell the one I dont need was asking $250 priced used for $450/500 is not that I needed the money but sometimes you find good stuff at the lawn shops, this guy told me my lens has dust inside and he could give only $100, well all used lenses even new have some level of dust, I bought a new 70-200mm 2.8 closed box for 2400 plus tax and had some little spot that doesnt afect the image so well I do not recommend this place read more

I pawned my MacBook Pro at this pawn shop and when I went to pick it back up I turned it on to make sure it was still working and it turned on completely fine in the store. A day later I went to use my computer and again it turned on completely fine but once I tried to use the mouse pad to put in my password neither my mouse pad nor my keyboard was working!!! I'm so upset when I took it to the mac store they said it was most likely caused by them placing something extremely heavy on my computers box for a long period of time!! I would have expected them to treat a $2000+ dollar MacBook Pro with much more care but I guess not! This place stole my laptop. Dont go there. They rip you off. I pawned a 700 dollar laptop and they only gave me $60. Then I came back two months later and they claimed to not have it anymore. After trying to work with them and then arguing with them they told me that there was no laptop here anymore. I no longer have the laptop and its gone. Then they rudely kicked me out of the store. There is a much better place to go near there, I suggest trying someone else. read more
