He came home from camp teaching us things like how mycelium webs help "trees talk to each other" and how some bird feathers change colors in water. He had adventures climbing trees and rocks, catching frogs, sailing makeshift boats and using his imagination outdoors. Hawks was just what he needed this summer! I wish kids had more opportunities like this. We would love the opportunity to go on a family hike with Hawks once in a while. I often wished I could stay when dropping off!

The coaches are AWESOME, so great with the kids even in difficult moments. The kids had a ton of fun and were spent by the end. One parent actually said "Best birthday party ever!" Additionally the whole staff was extremely accommodating! Just a superb experience. We can't recommend them enough.

Attended a bday party here. My teen girls did not want to participate as this seemed more geared…read moretowards younger children. My 12 year old son joined in the courses and activities and he stated the Parkour portion was too long and he enjoyed more of the nerf wars. The party was 2 hours indoors on the course. It is very compacted in a small space for the taller kids. They only allow one kid to go at a time because of the spacing. At the end of the indoor activities they had everyone go to the back patio and this is where food and cake was done at for one hour. Not enough seating for everyone in the back and many had to sit on the asphalt or the dirty fake green mat they had out there. Getting portable benches or tables for the backyard would make it more appealing for parties. The stairs don't belong to the business and some staff came out rudely telling the kids to not sit on there. Perhaps a sign or a plastic chain across the bottom rail will also help prevent the frustration of the staff being taken out on the kids to not go on the staircase. The staff did help with the clean up after the event which was nice. Another reason for the removal of a star was because the door leading to the patio doesn't have any safety features on it. It swings inward and has no resistance to it and is the perfect height to nail a kid. Which it did hit the birthday boy right on the forehead. An adult going in while he was going out opened the door and he got a big bump and gash on his forehead. During parties a pool noodle or cushion over the door handle could prevent a lot of injuries. Also placing a tension spring on the door would also help so the door doesn't go full force inward. Easy fixes if they don't want to put a window in the door. This place is geared for younger kids. Age 8 and below. For older kids not much for them to do. Easy fixes can be done to alleviate many issues.

The area is new to me and I very much enjoyed some of the shops.I am a guy who at one time only had experience eating in South Central Los Angeles, East Los Angeles, Long Beach and the Hub Cities. I do love these cities and I am happy to experience new unfamiliar places like Atwater Village and Silver Lake. Molly was there to kindly greet everyone, guide the children to complete task and behave, teach craft and chat with the adults. I enjoyed being in her class and I enjoyed seeing my little nephew complete his project. You can tell Molly has experience and education working with young children. On the walls we saw paintings and various drawings made by children. We did an Autumn seasonal craft project with paper, wooden wreaths, glue and various other decorative items. They have no-meter warning on Sunday, all other days there is a 2 hour maximum at a meter which can be paid by quarters or credit card, I do not think they accept EBT. Plenty of parking that day and other parking available if you are willing to walk. There is a garden area out back with rocks and a bench and the sun and air flowing in. I enjoyed the experience very much so as did many of the people I met there. I think the price range is fairly reasonable for the uptown people of this affluent area though maybe not for this downtown kind of guy. I do plan to come back in this area and I would highly recommend this place to any Hipster parents who want to keep children entertained for a while and want to help develop their children's vital skills.
