We stayed in Room 15, the Bernstein Suite, and it was incredibly spacious. The bed was so comfortable, and I loved the thoughtful details -- especially the cute vanity room with amazing natural light and the cozy seating area. The decor throughout the inn and in the room really stood out to me and was easily my favorite part of the stay. It felt like such a unique blend of historic charm and comfort. This stay was extra special for us as it was part of our 10-year anniversary trip while driving to New York City, and it ended up being the perfect halfway stop to break up the drive. It made the whole trip feel even more memorable. We also dined at Clem's Kitchen during our stay, and the food was great. (I'm gluten free and there were plenty of options!) I really appreciated that it's part of the inn, which made the overall experience feel seamless and convenient. Overall, it's the kind of place where you can slow down, soak in the atmosphere, and enjoy something truly special. I would absolutely recommend staying here if you're in the Shenandoah Valley area.

Charming Place, Comfortable Stay…read more We enjoy stays at both chains and independent hotels/motels, just do a lot of research to ensure a solid, restful stay at either. This piqued our interest as the longest continuously run motel and it lived up to expectations of being charmingly quirky while also very comfortable -- plus, proving to be easy to access as a quick pit stop. Spouse & I agreed when checking out that we wished we were staying longer, to get to enjoy the surprisingly spacious sitting room and glassed-in porch -- we stayed in room #15 / Bernstein and recommend it to both couples and small families. The bed was cushy and my husband slept later than his norm, always a good sign for bed comfort. It is higher than average, so I took advantage of the provided step to hop in/out. Because the tavern is onsite, there were additional bathrooms handy downstairs when ours was occupied. As noted in our welcome sheet, water took a few minutes to warm up. So if showering and in a rush, run it first for 3-5 minutes while doing other prep. But hot water arrives and pressure was excellent. The rooms were spotless, though of course tiles and other fixtures are vintage and show age -- it's a historic landmark. We also wish we could have stayed longer to take advantage of the porch rockers and both the tavern or (intriguingly combined) Irish-Mexican restaurant on premises. There appears to be patio seating in back, so ask if it's associated with hotel or dining, if looking for other outdoor space. Indoors, there are public spaces (two parlors plus other spots -- it's a rambling building!) with books and a checkerboard handy. Maybe more amenities but we ran out of time to explore. It's not a B&B -- there's just a stocked Keurig in the lobby and some packaged snacks and bottled water (free but donations welcomed). But if the Tavern is closed, as it was on our Memorial Dat visit, there's a small coffee shop just a half-block away, serving breakfast late as well as some sandwiches and bowls, plus good teas & coffees. Incredibly friendly staff. Looked like a few other dining options nearby plus historic sites and walking trails. We arrived very late, and management is not onsite at that hour, but instructions for arrival were provided, comprehensive and very easy to follow. Staff on site in am were very pleasant and helpful. Tip: If arriving late & lugging a ton of luggage, ask which rooms are closest to the late-night entrance. Number 15 is on the far side and up a flight of stairs -- fine for us with just overnight totes & computer bags but just something to keep in mind if you have a lot to unload. Overall, an enthusiastic thumbs-up. It looks like it would be a fun, relaxing hub for a weekend escape. But also great as a highway stop, as it is just a few minutes' drive from the exit.

I personally am so excited I found it. Lynn, the owner, has a small buffet set up with different things each day. Today, she had potato chip chicken strips, cabbage, green beans, egg rolls, broccoli, garlic bread, mushrooms, and a few other things. She also has a refrigerated section with sandwiches, fruit, drinks, and today there was also lasagna. Lynn's prices are crazy cheap!! The sandwiches are only $2.50 and the fruit is $2. A can of soda is only $0.50 (and they even had cranberry Sprite- so good and hard to find) and bottles were only a buck!! Her buffet was 3.75$ for a small to go box and $7 for a large to go box. It's also a little shop with a nail salon attached. She has various jewelry and handbags, hairbands and scarves! It's a cool place! Just go check it out:)

There were so many small details that needed to come together for our perfect weekend like renting busses from a local rafting company to get our older and mobility restricted guests up a windy hill to the historic St. Peter's Church. She negotiated a great deal with Town Hall (may it RIP) to have a fantastic welcome party and after brunch with excellent food at a great price. When we experienced friction with dealing with getting clear communication regarding clear pricing with our reception site, Leanne got everyone's feet planted back on the ground in record time. She was loved and respected amongst our vendors like Claire Watson Photography that everyone really rallied to give us a perfect day. She helped us to arrange the most beautiful flowers review with WestVirjeni at a small private so that my sick mom could be a part of the planning process. The day of our wedding, she was nothing short of phenomenal. If anything went wrong, we wouldn't have known about it. We wanted our own private time together before the craziness of the wedding so Leanne personally drove us to the church. Her organization and direct yet respectful communication left no room for error, which is exactly what you want on your wedding day. During the most important times in your life, you want to feel loved and supported, which Leanne has an incredible gift of doing seamlessly. I got married here on April 19, 2025 and we had so many guests come from far away states. Jordan Springs made their long distance travel well worth it because everyone had such a blast. And I'm not just saying this from a biased perspective of a newlywed. We had guests uploading pictures and videos of the venue even days after the wedding, reminiscing about it. We had guests come up to us during the reception and after the wedding to compliment all of the wedding festivities and the venue itself. And we had at least 6 guests that danced in public for the first time (really, almost everyone was dancing). It was that good. My husband and I were extremely nervous leading up to the wedding because we had done all the planning remotely via e-mail with Colt and we just didn't know what to expect. Once you book with them, you are given a wedding planning binder that gives you an overview of all the things you need to think about. We always hear horror stories about the stresses of wedding planning, but this wasn't our experience. It was so straightforward that it made us question if we were doing it right. But it really was that easy. We did not have to pay thousands for a one-off coordinator, as Colt and the Jordan Springs team do the coordinating for you. We didn't have to pester our bridal and groom party to help with decorations and preparations because Jordan Springs handled this for us. As soon as you book with Jordan Springs the detail is already followed to the tee, and your vision truly comes to life the day of. This attention to detail continues until the wedding festivities are officially over and as bride and groom you will be extremely spoiled. The JS team have the whole wedding day down to a science, literally talking on radios to coordinate so things go as seamlessly as possible. Colt is extremely mindful, especially, of the bride's experience and he will ensure that you and your groom eat, and do the right romantic things in picture perfect moments. I have never seen such a careful, impeccable group of people work together to make someone else's day extra special. At the end of it all, because we had an amazing package for our day, we ended up paying significantly less than your average wedding cost and it honestly felt like we should have paid more for that experience. We definitely got our money's worth and more! If any of the negative "helpful" reviews on here from years ago scare you, it shouldn't. Colt is an extremely transparent, super easy person to work with and treats his clients with lots of courtesy and respect. We bombarded him with questions about finances and wedding planning details throughout planning and he gave us honest, detailed answers. Trust me there will not be anything underhand. And I am certain that they look at these reviews and have since made everything more efficient/transparent, because we never ran into any trouble with JS, not to mention that some of the negative feedback is from lack of research/common sense. If you are uncertain about payment breakdown, wedding lingo, or how they go about planning your wedding, ASK. Visit the venue and don't think twice. Book it!

I recently took 3 cassette tapes that my father had recorded…read morewhile he was in Vietnam and sent home (circa 1969) to have them put on CD as a surprise for my mom and sisters for Christmas. When I dropped of the tapes, I specifically asked if, given the age of the tapes, they would be able to transfer the audio content. I was assured they could. What they DID NOT mention is that the price per tape only included transferring ANY noise that was on the tapes - whether or not understandable! When I listened to the CDs, NONE of the content was understandable. When I called Home Video, I was told that I could bring the tapes back in and for an additional fee, they could probably make the CDs understandable. My complaint is that, when it was obvious they could not transfer a usable version of the first tape, they should have called me to ask if I wanted them to try the other two. At the VERY LEAST, they should not have made the additional copies of each CD that I had asked for without calling me and telling me the quality of the CDs was poor and asking if I still wanted copies made. Common sense, and good customer service, should have come into play - what use are 3 CDs, with 3 copies of each, that are all completely gibberish? I am out over $120 with little recourse. Do NOT trust that you will receive a good quality product from Home Video!!!
