Once you get over the spookiness of Party City (it somehow reminds me of a zombie apocalypse?) you can really make use of this silly place. As an event planner, I can generally rely on Party City to have many of the bits & bobs I need to add razzle dazzle to my events. Pink cowboy hat? Check. Gift bags in every color of the rainbow? Check. Plastic table cloths? Check. Balloons? Check. Let's talk about the balloons in particular, though. There are a few balloon options: 1 - Buy a package of balloons & have them fill them up behind the counter. They charge a filling fee. 2 - Bring in your own balloons & have them fill them up behind the counter. They charge a filling fee. 3 - Buy a package of balloons & fill it up elsewhere. You can buy a portable helium tank & fill them up at home, if you'd like. 4 - Buy one of their fancy balloons behind the counter & they'll fill it up. The cost of filling is included in the fancy balloon's price. I've tried every single on of these options. Recently, I indulged in #4 & it was ... not worth it. My big, shiny, fancy rainbow balloon made it 30 seconds out of the store until the wind ripped it off the ribbon it was (not so) secured to & it absconded into the sky. I had to laugh. Okay, anyways. This is a Party City & you'll find party supplies here. That's all!

This is the store that usually has anything you want for a party, get together or celebration. So, if your plans are to have a big bash with all kinds of colorful decor, styles, shapes and ornaments, then Party City is your place to go. The store is pretty much the same as other Party City stores, they all look the same...the staff was nice but busy getting the store organized and ready when I was there.

Circa Vintage Wear - Great dress, it was a hit at the victorian tea!

Don't believe the hype. This store is NOT worth a trip to New Bedford…read more It's not because they don't have plenty of vintage clothes -- they do. It's just that 80% of their stock SUCKS. It's cheap and ugly vintage -- it's the stuff no one wants that would be left behind at a garage sale. Think heavy woolen overshirts from the 1950s and 1960s that fit poorly, look bad, and make you sweat, or old ugly polyester suits that were cheap when they were made and still look just as cheap. There are live moths and plenty of moth holes on the clothes here. Compare the price of 1970s blazer in mint condition -- here it's 85 bucks, at Goodwill in Boston, it's 8 bucks. The inventory of this store might be good if you're making a Scorcese period movie or for Halloween, but you're unlikely to wear anything that's here on a day-to-day basis. Most of the clothes here are HEAVY (physically heavy), and the racks are all so stuffed you can't look at anything without practically ripping it out of the rack, and then forget about trying to put it back. It's like the owner is afraid to throw anything away. This store would do much better if it were closer to Boston, or if it was in New York. Then maybe there would be far more turnover, hipper pieces, and fewer moths. If you want to see an exemplary vintage menswear store, check out Crowley Vintage in Brooklyn or Pick n Weight in Berlin. Don't get me wrong, I see what the store owner is trying to do here, and maybe 25 years ago, this was where it was at. But the world -- including the vintage world -- has changed, and this store's inventory is stuck in the past -- and not in a good way.

Spirit Halloween - Asinine return policy that you get to read only after you've bought your costume

That's like Amazon or someone important stopping Christmas returns on December 18 like what the absolute crap. I know you're trying to avoid people from wearing them on Halloween and then returning them, but Halloween hasn't happened yet to stop the return or exchange of things before the actual date of the reason people are buying them is insane. I will never buy another spirit Halloween anything.

This store has something for everyone. They have the best Halloween decorations but there definitely on the expensive side. The Hocus Pocus merchandise is adorable as is the Quija Board stuff they sell. Pretty but I definitely wouldn't play with one of those as they aren't toys- they are divination tools! They also have costumes for baby's, toddlers, kids, and adults. Their costumes are reasonably priced compared to the old school Halloween stores where a costume would be no less then $100! You can score a decent costume in here for about $40-$50. I was looking for a PopEye Costume which they advertised on their website and when I asked the cashier she said they didn't have it. My son really wants to be PopEye so I might have to order his costume online if they don't get it in or have it at their other stores in RI. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Definitely a great spot to check out and my son gets a kick out of all the scary stuff! Fun place!
