Two staff members were working the balloon/cash registers. They were too busy eating snacks and taking selfies to notice the line of customers even though we called out to them. Then when helping the customers, these two employees were rude. While I was waiting for my balloons to be filled, I over heard them both cursing and complaining about different customers. I ordered balloons to be ready at 12:30 for my 1:00 Bridal Shower... Balloons weren't ready until 1:45 and I had to send a friend's boyfriend to pick them up since my friend didn't want to miss the shower. The balloons didn't make it until 2:00 when the party was already halfway over. AND they were letter balloons... The S was tied on upside down so you could see the barcode on it in all of the pictures. The staff was unapologetic. read more

I am surprised this establishment even has a two star rating (currently) and wish I could give them zero stars. I truly had my worst experience I have ever had working with any company. To keep is short, awful, awful, awful customer service. The long story version . . . we placed a LARGE balloon order (and paid over the phone) from New York for our 22 month old daughter who just went through a 12 hour surgery to remove a tumor the size of a grapefruit from her abdominal cavity. She was recovering and this process was harder than we could have ever imagined. We wanted her bedroom to be filled with balloons when we got home in hopes to bring a smile to her face. She loves balloons, always has, and still does. We had someone else pick up the order for us and put them in her room. When we got home, there were four balloons in her room, FOUR! Which is no where close to what we had ordered and definitely did not have the effect we were hoping for. My husband went immediately to Party City to try to fix the situation before our little girl saw her room, with the receipt in hand, and they accused him of lying! We were exhausted, emotionally drained from cancer treatments, and were doing what we could for our little girl, yet they really had the audacity to accuse us of lying. They stood their ground, saying the person that picked them up must have got all of them and we were just trying to scam them. My husband purchased more balloons because at that time, doing anything to make our daughter happy was more important that trying to prove our case. It is a year later and I am still upset, it actually still brings tears to my eyes. Fast forward to last week, when I reluctantly went in for supplies for her third birthday. We were having a big party for her third birthday, her health this year is a HUGE reason to celebrate. I asked the girl behind the counter for help (carrying and 8 month old and with my little girl) with Minnie Mouse balloons and decorations. She said 'I don't know, I'm on this side of the counter, you're on that side.' I replied with 'yes, but you work here, could you help me find them?' 'I don't spend much time out on the floor' and she went back to sorting balloons. The manager offered me one balloon to make up for the situation the year before and that day. I left with the one balloon and went elsewhere, where I was very happy and we did have an incredible celebration for our little girl! But I am asking everyone out there not to support this business, writing this has truly made me sick to my stomach because of how they treated us during the hardest time of our life. read more

Where is the ZERO STARS button? This store has a 100% suckage policy when it comes to returns. I brought in an item today WITH my receipt, well within the 30 day cut off for returns. It was spirit gum and remover for applying theatrical make up, something that they sell year round. But since it was the day before Halloween they said that they can't give me my money back since it is , in their opinion, considered a Halloween seasonal item. Mind you, this wasn't AFTER Halloween ( I could understand that ) but it was before Halloween and they refused to give me anything but a store credit. In all honesty, I wanted to tell the little ding ding behind the cash register that she could cram that $8 store credit up her *** but I thought better of it. Crappy customer service and crappy policies........and here I sit with a worthless 'store credit' because I will NEVER go back in there even if my hair is on fire and they have the only fire extinguisher in town. I went in 2 weeks ago to buy 2 balloons.There were 2 cashiers helping the two people checking out. Each one having a large cart. So I asked one of the workers next to the balloon counter if I should wait there or wait in the check out line to buy helium balloons. He told me to wait in line. As I waited in line a couple came in and looked at balloons at the balloon counter. One of the cashiers noticed them and called another worker to come and help them. They were able to pick their balloons and ready to check out at the balloon counter, While the cashiers were still checking out the 2 people in line ahead of me. I ended up leaving due to the poor customer service/misinformation. I bought 2 balloons at the grocery store instead. read more

Wish I could've given it zero stars. DO NOT ORDER INVITATIONS FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT. The manager named Rob does not know what he is doing and does not have good customer service skills. Sure if you have extra time to waste before your wedding then get your invitations here, but if like me you absolutely did not then DO NOT ORDER INVITES HERE. I waited a month for them when I was assured that at the very most it would take two weeks. I called everyday and the manager was never present and the other employees were not taught how to help with invitations. I had to wait for him to come back after a two weeks of not being there so that he could actually tell the company to get the invitations going, even though he told me he took care of it the day I went in and ordered them! He then kept lying to us about not knowing how to track the invitations because he was trying to blame the company for the delay when it was his fault for not delegating out his work while he was gone. He then was extremely rude to my dad. So basically do not order anything here unless you wanted to be in the dark, the invitations to be late, and to be treated extremely rude. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever encountered when shopping. I went in today to buy some stuff for my sons graduation party we had a coupon for 15% off 30$ so I bought that much stuff and the cashier couldn't figure out how to honor it. So called the manager (Brent) and he couldn't figure it out either he was very monotone and didn't even greet us with a smile or even some sort of discount for not gettin our clearly applicable coupon entered. Than I noticed he over charged me for some things he wouldn't honor the price listed on the item display he wouldn't even go look to see I was telling him there was a sign and he just stared at me blankly and said that's the price. FALSE ADVERTISING. I was so upset I did tell him to match his ass over and look. But he said no So I asked for a refund and he said he didn't have to give me one. And told me to leave I said no I wanted a refund and he said I don't have to do anything. I was in tears from frustration. He was so rude I can't believe a company this big which is supposed to be fun has someone so grossly inexperienced in customer service and incapable of helping a customer. I will NEVER shop at a party city again ever!!!!!!!!! I will tell anyone who will listen how awful they are. The store was a mess too and Unorganized. read more
