I wanted to do business with a local Cape Cod business but clearly that was a mistake. Beware if you are considering them...... I made the mistake of trusting Party Cape Cod for napkins for my wedding. I was looking for light pink linen napkins and they mailed me some swatches, one of which i selected I paid a deposit, signed a contract and thought it was taken care of. My elderly mom picked them up for me two days before my wedding on her way off the Cape. I saw them the day before my wedding and knew immediately it was not what i ordered. They had swapped out the pink linen napkins for terribly cheap polyester ones in a different shade of pink. In addition, when i called, they blamed it on my mother because she "didn't bring the swatch in for pickup". The owner Charlene was terribly rude and disrespectful and really didn't care to help. My wedding planner found new napkins, drove to providence RI to pick them up to save the day...all while i had to pay much more because of the rush. Charlene simply sat there and blamed it on my mother and was incredibly rude to work with while I was crying the day before my wedding....she couldn't have cared less. They are quick to promise you something, take your money and then bait and switch you on a cheaper product and hope you don't notice. I will say that two employees (Marilyn and Susan) were wonderful but it was clear they weren't empowered to help much or make any decisions without Charlene who was unwilling to do much. Please see the picture attached which shows the linen swatch they sold me on and then the crappy polyester product they gave us. The napkins they gave us were such poor quality that I cannot imagine anyone using them for any event, never mind a wedding. read more

Sadly, Party Cape Cod is not the company to rely on, which we discovered first hand. Within days before the wedding, the city did not allow a building permit, as they had in the past for this venue. Through no fault of our own, we were unable to use a tent. Party Cape Cod had already collected their full fee and refused to give a refund. Do you think that is fair and reasonable? They have the most outdated supplies, the dishes they used are only washed with water, the workers look like they were picked up from Home Depot, wreaking of weed and beer, had them apply sidewall to my tent for our wedding and it was covered in what looked to be mud. read more

From the moment we started working with Kristen, she was organized, thoughtful, engaged, and responded to all of our questions, whether they were through email or over the phone, in a timely manner. She is a true professional and knows exactly what she is talking about, and she also cares a lot about what she does. She was able to suggest different options for us when we needed guidance but was not pushy at all with her opinion. This company is the most unprofessional vendor I encountered during my wedding planning and I would not recommend them to anyone. I rented chair linens from them for my wedding and paid to have them delivered installed and picked up after the event. The week before my wedding I knew my final headcount would be between 126-130 people so I gave them the final count of 130. On my wedding day I ended up with 124 guests, the linens were assembled at each place setting but the extra six linens were not set-up at an extra table in the back where the vendors ate dinner..ok fine, whatever I am sure the vendors didnt mind. I am told the linens were then picked up by this company the next day. So 3 weeks go bye without any word from Party Cape Cod, I come home from my honeymoon to find a bill from them for $150 for 'missing/damaged linens' and they had already taken the liberty of charging my credit card $150. I called the company to find out what this bill was all about and they stated that only 124 chair linens out of the 130 were returned...I found this very curious seeings as they only assembled 124 out of the 130. Then I make another phone call to the wedding venue to inquire if the linens were still there, my wedding planner found them shoved in a closet in the bridal sweet. They were never assembled and were left behind on the day of pickup and somehow that translated into me paying $150. To make this situation even worse my wedding planner was willing to mail the linens back to party cape cod but just needed the address, well after multiple phone calls and messages to our contact there, who was always either at lunch or in a meeting, we got no answer. At this point I called my credit card company to dispute this charge, they called party cape cod and low and behold got someone to speak with me about this. She claimed she had been in contact with the wedding planner and the linens were in the mail and she would credit my account as soon as she received them. After this phone call I called my wedding planner who stated SHE STILL HAD THE LINENS AND DID NOT RECEIVE ANY RETURN PHONE CALLS FROM PARTY CAPE COD!!!!!! THE CONTACT THERE TOLD A BLATANT LIE TO AVOID THE CREDIT DISPUTE. Needless to say I disputed the charge in the end and stopped calling party cape cod all together. I find it very inappropriate to charge someones credit card without first notifying them, the staff could not have been any less professional, and in the end it seemed like they didnt even want thier linens back...just my money to buy new ones! PCC supplied all of the supplies for a recent rehearsal dinner I hosted in Woods Hole. Everything was delivered well ahead of the event and was in perfect shape. The delivery person was great and moved all of the supplies in without a hassle. The morning after the dinner all of the used dishes and linens, tables and chairs were picked up and out of our way. Even though they charged me $50 for a Saturday pickup, it was worth it to get everything cleared out before the big event. I would definitely count on PCC to provide all of my party needs in the future. read more

I am giving them a three. It is mainly because I wrote the company a letter with feedback, both positive and negative, on our experience and never received an acknowledgement from them. Overall the service was good. The two site inspections were informative and helpful. We hosted my son's wedding reception in our back yard. The only problem was the day of installation. They only had 3 guys to install a 100' x 30' framed tent. One installer was very negatively vocal about his frustration of being short handed. My husband and father-of-the-bride were helping the crew with the tent and dance floor installation. They didn't have to help, but we felt bad for these guys. They were there until after 6 p.m. A tent that size needs more than 3 guys. There was also a serious safety issue with the winch that raises the frame. No safety latch. It let go and hit one of the guy's arm pretty badly. It was forceful enough to break a bone. Other than that, the rental items were all accurate and everything looked great. I was disappointed that I didn't receive any acknowledgement of my letter. read more

It's difficult to give a business one star when frankly they showed up with the tent and the other rentals we ordered for our wedding. However, the reason I have to do so is because (in addition to the minor annoyances in things like noticing some of the napkins had stains and were clearly quite used -- which to some extent is to be expected of rentals), my real grievance with PCC is that during our reception a cloud came over our tent, and rain poured through between supposedly sealed edges. A couple of our tables got DRENCHED. My guests ran around trying to move the tables and the rained on victims -- all during my mother's reading of a poem she wrote to us. While I have amazing friends and family who dealt with the drenching well, this should NEVER HAVE HAPPENED. The reason you rent a $1000 tent is to prevent people from getting poured on. Our wedding coordinator promptly called PCC to let them know and someone said he'd be on his way out. He never showed, later claiming because the rain stopped, he figured we were fine. We WERE lucky the rainstorm stopped. Otherwise, our wedding could have easily been ruined. Our caterer said he's never seen anything like this and felt we deserved an 80% refund. I spent numerous conversations and emails after the wedding with PCC discussing the matter. After rounds of them denying this was their fault or problem, they eventually offered a 50% refund along with a letter indicating they felt this was very generous of them. I know that no business has control over weather, but if you're in the business of renting tents, your tents should be able to withstand Cape Cod party conditions -- rainstorms or not. read more
