This particular ice cream bar is tucked in the corner and barely noticeable. They advertise Ashbys Sterling ice cream-made in Michigan. Gotta say this is real good ice cream. They have about 10 different flavors. The one I liked was the spumoni. Oh my goodness. I'm a spumoni snob so when I find one that exceeds my standard I need to say something. This is areal good spumoni. Good ice cream period. The prices are decent and the owner who scoops up the ice cream gives a hefty scoop. He didn't have this flavor until about 2 months ago, but customers kept asking for it. It's the biggest seller. He goes through 3-4 tubs a week. Telling you it's good. The owner is super nice too!

However, I've noticed a consistent pattern that's made me increasingly uncomfortable. Each time we're in the store, the staff behaves as if we're being watched closely--asking if we want items held at the counter or having an employee follow us under the pretense of folding shirts while we browse. I've spent over $100 here so far and don't appreciate being treated with suspicion. Having worked in retail myself, I'm familiar with the signs of someone being monitored because they're assumed to be stealing, and that's how it feels every time I shop here. I really like the shop's selection--especially the Jellycats--but there are other local stores that carry similar products. I'm willing to give the shop one more chance, but if I experience this same treatment again, I will be taking my business elsewhere.
